Very slow, frequent disconnects.

Been lurking this website for a little while. Seems decent, so I'm posting my issue with Orange, and router stats.

For the last two years or so, I had been disconnecting every morning at about 6am. No big deal, but more recently, the disconnects are getting more and more frequent. Today alone, my connection has been dropped at least 10 times. What makes things worse is that I have to reboot the router (I've tried two routers, same problem) for the handshake to be even attempted again. I'll rarely reconnect automatically, and it's highly frustrating.

BT Infinity arrives in my area at the end of this month, so it's mostly a waiting game right now, but a stable connection wouldn't hurt.

I'm usually connected at 5800 kbps, but the rest of the numbers are pretty much the norm.

Do you have any phone extensions? Are they all filtered?

Try connecting to hidden test socket behind master socket faceplate and see if discons go away.

You should be getting about 8 Meg sync. Can you tell from router what ADSL Mode you are on?

I'm on ADSL2, and I have a phone extension, but the problem remains even if I remove it and connect the router straight to the wall. Filters are in place, and replaced with newer units. I've never tried the hidden test socket but I can try that next.

Test socket is only way to test conclusively.

You or possibly close neighbours heating/water switch on at 6 in the morning ?

Are you using the Netgear DGN1000 ?

I have my router connected to the test socket right now, with nothing else connected.

Forgot to add, I have a TP-Link router. In hindsight, it's probably one of the worst routers I've ever had the pleasure of buying. I connected my Livebox a couple of days ago, but I still get the disconnection issues.

AFAIK If you are getting an upstream data rate of 1091 you will be on ADSL2+ I think the max upload rate of ADSL2 is 384 kbps

Max upstream on ADSL2 is same as ADSL2+, 1.3 Meg. The only diff is ADSL2 is limited to 12 Meg downstream as it uses less frequencies.
