upload speed

I have just installed Bright box. The download speed is fine over 15 meg. However the upload speed is between 0.7 to 0.8. Why I cannot get 0.9 ?. Everything on the box is the default settings except channel changed from Auto to 11 on the advice of Orange.

They (their DLM) are running you on Interleaved and on that BTw caps the Upload to 888 Kbps for some reason.

If, and when, it switches you to Fast Path you would get 1.2 Meg. Unlike other ISPs I don't think you can choose; it's all done auto by the DLM.

Nowt to do with BrightBox.

Many thanks for your reply. I am now on 0.9 meg upload which is the highest I ever had. I am happy with it . I also have a download speed of 15/16 meg. Long it may continue!!

Interesting point about DLM.

I get about 12Meg down and 1.1Meg up in Merthyr.

If I asked them to turn off DLM would the speed increase by any chance?
