12 mb promised but i only get between 5 or 6 mb!why is that?

i used to get around 10 mb which was acceptable but now for the past couple of month i never get more than 5.5 mb at anytime of the day , anyone can help me out?

We need the attenuation and noise margin figures combined with connection rates to say a lot more than this.

Router has been connected 10 days, and they don't automatically reconnect at a faster speed, so switch it off for a minute and back on again, and see if the speeds improve.

i tried that i still get the same speed,
how do i get the margin figures ?

On the Brightbox I don't know, may be hidden away in advanced settings. Someone posted some ages ago, so seems possible.

What do you mean? Should be it be adsl+2 ? Can I change this setting?

I also did a factory setting , shouldnt it rectify the adsl option?
