Connection dropping every 30 secs - 2 minutes

Hi all

I'm now at day 8 of our 10 day stabilisation period having switched to Orange, and up until today the connection has been brilliant. However it's now dropping every minute or so (see log below NB. ignore the incorrect timestamp), and Orange customer services are just saying it's normal in the stabilisation period. However it's basically unusable at the moment... (I'm posting this via tethering to my phone).

I've been looking at the status page on the router and the downstream speed has been varying between 13-20Mbps. Speedtest.net has been showing speeds of approx 14-16Mbps over the last week.

What should I be saying to Orange to get this fixed?

Hmmm, now it seems to be stabilised at 9525kbps and has remained connected for the last 24 mins.

Hopefully this won't be our final speed.

It's probably best to wait until the training period has finished. And then post your router stats, if you have a brightbox you can access them in Advanced setup > System > ADSL status

That happened to me on Days 3 to 6 of my switch from Orange LLU to WBC in April 2011. See http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/freeserve/t/3997115... et al for how I fared and what I did about it.

At that time it was only giving me 11 Meg Down @ 15 dB NM and only 444K Up. I am now getting 20 Meg Down @ 3 dB NM and 1.2 Meg Up. But I had to write formally to them to achieve this.
