I was wondering if anyone knew if it's possible to disable the bright box's internal DNS server. I prefer to have actual DNS addresses passed through by DHCP.

Why not use both the DNS (Domain Name System) Server and DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Server.
Never heard of anyone disabling the router DNS Server, you select obtain from ISP or manual, I prefer manual.
Orange EE DNS Server settings
Primary DNS 193.36.79.101
Secondary DNS 193.36.79.100
Google Public DNS Server settings
Primary DNS 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS 8.8.4.4
The BrightBox doesn't actually have an internal DNS Server; all it does is specify which external DNS Servers to use in its set-up. You can set it to use any external DNS Servers you wish by setting DNS IP Address to Manual.
It does however have a DHCP Server which is essential and you'd best leave well alone .
