Orange Brightbox loses it's identity, not working anymore

I wonder if anyone went through the same problem.

My Brightbox stopped working yesterday afternoon after it changed it name from "Brightbox-cyy***" to "wlan". Furthermore, If I try to login into my router using 192.168.1.1 it says that my password is wrong.
Apart from that, the router seems to have a connection to the broadband as the globe is "on".

I rang them up and that guy told me that in my area the internet would not work because of a fault. But I don't believe that in my whole area the internet still isn't working.

Do you have an idea what steps I could do to bring it back to life?

What name are you talking about? The wireless SSID? That shouldn't change.

yes exactly, it did change the SSID and is also no longer protected by a password, it open but everyone connected to the router cannot access the internet.

Sound like someone has accessed your router, the Bright Box router settings do not change, only if someone changes them.

Then make you router more secure, example�

Do not use the default security settings given on the router base.

Make the router access login
Username: admin
Password: Whatever you like but only known to you!

Do not use the router default address http://192.168.1.1
Change the router address http://192.168.15.241

If WLAN is the SSID then this requires a factory reset and the router will restore. Can I ask had you changed any settings recently, if so what ones, and lastly when did you last power cycle the router ?

Bright Box wireless security instructions.
Make the Bright Box router � wireless SSID whatever you like, it can be Mickey Mouse.

Use only wireless security WPA2 or WPA

Use a strong 63 random alpha-numeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) generated wireless password.
Example wireless password: qP2ITeSikIEysBDeaQobfaUYTlI2EdViliex3TeCx18qegbp3K3rmr9QvDOZemZ
Generate the password then copy and paste the wireless password.
Also keep a safe copy.

My brightbox did exactly the same thing one evening; IP address reverted to 192.168.1.1 , wireless SSID went to "wlan" , neither my password or the original default worked.
