use livebox as accespoint ?

hi there

i would like to set an access point for my friend

he lives in a large house with studio attached to it , he gets no wireless signal in it but he managed to pass an ethernet cable through the wall but now he would like to have wireless in the studio, he is with orange ( livebox)
i realised i had an old livebox that orange sent me a longtime ago which i dont use ,so can i use it as an access point ? just plug it through that ethernet cable and good to go? any configuration needed?

Yes turn off the DHCP in the livebox

Turn off dhcp in his live box? Or the access wireless one ?
What about the password eat username in my live box? Will it affect the connection ? Shall I just ignore that ?
Will the wireless connection show with new wireless name ? No conflicts with old one ?
I am going to visit him for a few days and I just want to make it works properly with live box
Otherwise ill buy a proper wireless access router

Turn off DHCP in the one you want to use as the wireless access point.

thanks for the answer but it's not working ,
i tried it at mine as i am with orange already ( brightbox though ) ,i connected them through ethernet cable i turned off the DHCP in livebox but it's not working,am i missing something ?

any suggestions?

Did you check for any ip address clash as suggested in the guide

Do I need to put my orange password in the acces point ( livebox)
