Why can't I stream videos using XBMC ???

I have only been with EE around a month and I've already had it with their broadband service and shocking customer service.

All I want is to be able to run XBMC media streamer during peak times and weekends.

Got a link from our speedtest http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html during the peak times, and also router stats from the same time.

The line might be running with excess errors, or could just be ISP congestion rather than any traffic management issues.

The part you've not said anywhere is what source the videos you are streaming are, e.g. if ultra HD 4K material I would expect buffering, but if the usual HD at under 5 Mbps then should be fine.

Hi, done various speed test over the weekend and they ranged fro 18/17 meg down to 0.1 and 0.2. EE have confirmed the exchange is free from congestion. It's standard HD.....but buffering is also happening on non HD programs.

If the speedtests are HTTP based (and the second part of ours is) and the graph shapes can help to show if its congestion or some other issue, then suggestion is that while EE say exchange not congested then maybe something somewhere is, particularly if the router stats are still good and the error rate is low.

Run the BBC iPlayer Diagnostic Test at various times of the day, peak & off-peak, and see how they compare.

What exchange are you on? Look it up here: SamKnows UK Exchange Search and give us the link. Orange does throttle streaming at certain exchanges at peak times. Support are often unaware of this but I can tell you if it applies to your exchange.

As I expected the speed test is fine during Monday to Friday before 6pm.
