Can i use the Bright Box router on my own Talktalk ISP?

No. The username is hard-coded to end in '@fs'.

There is no more info else I would've given it.

Yes, I use a BrightBox on an Orange connection.

EDIT: Maybe in my original answer it would be better to say 'hard-coded' rather than 'locked'.

Any device is hackable to do all manner of things when it is software based, but to the best our knowledge no-one has done this to the brightbox.

*Some* folk have said they cannot get it to work - I beg to differ, as MANY have had it working. I put it to you that those who cannot get it working, are more likely to have PEBKAC than the method not working

It would seem that many people who are having issues with the above documented "unlocking" (bypassing) method, are having said issues because this method has not been shown to work on EE fibre, but works on ADSL lines

TT do not use a name and password, authenticates on line details......

For EE/Orange since the move to BTWholesale WBC network the MTU is 1500. Orange LLU network broadband service was 1492 this service has now ceased.

How to set Bright Box to other ISP:

4/ At the very bottom of the page, you'll see a box - "MTU" - type in the correct value (1500 for O2 and BT, 1492 for Orange/EE)
