Freeserve Email account disappeared

I upgraded my Orange broadband to EE FTTC which works well 75/20 but suddenly my alternative Email has disappeared I've talked to EE technical and checked the setting and they appear correct. I use Microsoft Mail and get the following Error Message......

Unable to send or receive messages for the kpee.freeserve.co.uk account. The host 'orangehome.co.uk' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Server: 'orangehome.co.uk'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 11004

Regardless of the message I am able send Emails

Any body know why I cannot receive
I started to happen about 4 weeks after I received FTTC

"orangehome.co.uk" appears to be an incorrect hostname. Google tells me these are the correct settings:

Email server: POP3
Pop server (incoming): pop.orangehome.co.uk
SMTP server (outgoing): smtp.orangehome.co.uk
Secure password authentication: no
POP incoming port number: 110
Outgoing SMTP port number: 25

Unfortunately another ISP email service with no SSL.

What are the POP3 & SMTP Server settings in MS Mail (do you mean Windows Mail?)?

From the error msg it would seem that the POP3 server can't be found.

In fact, just noticed, you have forgot to put 'pop.' infront of 'orangehome.co.uk'.

If it is not that, sometimes the Orange POP3 servers are down. You can use any of 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', 'pop.orange.net', 'pop.freeserve.co.uk', 'pop.freeserve.net' and poss others. If 1 don't work try another.

Grrrr!!!! Beat me to it while I was testing all POP3 possibilities .

I think I've found the problem..

I appear to have TWO passwords
One for Orange Webmail and another for Window Live Mail this I will investigete

One of the passwords I will have to delete

They should be identical, if you mean they are both for your email a/c '[email protected]', and the same as your BB pwd set in the router.

Webmail & WLM are just 2 different ways of reading the same email a/c.

Anyway the pwd is not the reason for that WLM failure; it was cuz you got the POP3 Server name wrong.
