Brightbox needs to respond to pings usually a setting in the web config

Many SPI settings in the firewall, considering knocking Brightbox firewall off. No need for three or four, unless anyone can advise an individual setting to disable within the firewall. Just about had a bellyful of Orange and the Brightbox. Fault turned out underground and at exchange apparently. Speed OK at 6315mbps now, but the Brightbox insists upon a 12db noise margin. I can see why I like my Billion at home, though have bought my unlocked homehub 3 up this time, so may find a home in cupboard for the not so bright box.

works fine for me on brightbox 1 and 2, even sure i have disabled the router firewall

You need to Disable 'Discard Ping To WAN Interface' in the BB's Advanced Setup / Firewall / Intrusion Detection. No need to use a sledgehammer by disabling whole firewall.

But what is that graph from 12 Pm? Seem to be working then.

No, that is the DLM's doing, almost certainly cuz of the now discovered fault and it will improve with time. DLM & BB are quite capable of going down to 3dB NM on stable lines.

Thanks Xray. I had already got the BQM to work after finding my way around the brightbox, though if the noise margin doesn't drop, I will be hooking up my unlocked Homehub 3.0. Other than that, the connection is now hooking up at 63XXmbps with speedtests showing between 5500 and 6100kbps as predicted.

That's good, as Homehub 2 was running at 3bd margin with a fault, so should all end well.
