Need Bright Box V1 updated firmware

Good evening folks.

Thanks to EE and there eternally broken promises, I am without the latest (security exploit patched) firmware, the likes of which a BIG hoo-haa was made over, earlier this year.

Does anyone have the will or ability to send me a link to the latest, updated firmware for the Bright Box 1? I'm waiting for "EE" to send me a replacement, but since they're such a bunch of blagging lip service merchants, I am sorry to confess I do not believe a word of they tell me when they say "the replacement will have the latest firmware" - I know I don't trust them further than the end of my nose...

... so if anyone would supply me the firmware, I'd be very grateful


PS: If my box arrives with the new firmware *before* this appeal is satisfied, I'll rip the firmware and supply it to you all, multi-mirrored

There is no such link. The BB1 is supposed to auto update but mine didn't so I had to talk to the EO to send an replacement.

Moving on from the arguing, so no official links and seems no unofficial links either, unless someone else knows about it.

The Bright Box (1) firmware upgrade I have is (Wed Jan 22 22:50:41 2014) it was upgraded automatically by EE. (You only have to reboot the router for the upgrade to automatically download from EE to the router)

I hae rebooted my Bright Box many times, I have had "tech support" telling me they are logging into my router and upgrading the firmware, twice, and didn't on either occasion. I had a guy yesterday tell me "there's no difference between the Bright Box 1 and the Bright Box 2" which caused me to reply "If there is no difference, why are selling a new router when it isn't necessary?"

Suffice it to say, EE are one of the most clueless companies on the face of the planet.

I switch the power OFF to my router overnight every night, maybe you could try that to wake up the EE upgrade server in the mornings when you switch the power back on.

I work at night and wake at 1-2pm - that's impractical, since the rest of my family would be without internet, and that can't happen. Good idea though thank you.
