spoof email

[link to this post]

Just received an email to my gmail account, where my bill notifications are sent. Worryingly it looks like someone has requested a password reset on my broadband account.

Needless to say I am going to ignore this and analyse it later.

Has anyone else received such an email?

Received this today. I think it is an EE error

Hello

Thanks for giving us those new details for your EE broadband account. They're all up to date now.

Should you need anything else, either go here to our online help pages or give us a call on 0844 873 8586* or, if you're on one of our pay monthly discounted plans, dial 150 from your Orange, T-mobile, or EE pay monthly mobile. We're here to help you from 7am to 11pm, every day of the week.

Best Regards.

EE Broadband Team

Definitely sounds like either a scam or the EE servers have been compromised.

Hi Mike Williams,

Thanks for getting in touch. Please click on the link below to reset your password.

https://web.orange.co.uk/id/lostpassword.php?rm=Rese...

You need to click on the link above and enter your new password within the next 24 hours. After that, the link will expire and you'll have to request a new password again.

Thanks

EE Customer Support

This is the body of the email I received, I have run the headers through some analysis sites and they appear legit.

I think it must be one of the Orange/EE servers which has glitched, but needless to say I did not request this so I am ignoring it.
