EE apparently asking me to set up a new "My EE" Account

[link to this post]

I have been with EE and its predecessors, starting with Freeserve, since about 1997.

Today, I have been asked to apparently set up a new account under the "My EE" heading, without forewarning of any sort.

My lady-wife is extremely worried that this may be a scam; and when trying to phone its Help Line - "Number not available".

Any clues please.

The ones they list are for broadband

EE mobile 150 Free during our opening hours* (25p per call on pay as you go)
EE landline 0800 079 8586 Free at any time
Another provider 0207 362 0200 Check call charges with your provider
From abroad +44 (0) 207 362 0200 Please check our roaming charges for calling costs

The 0207 does ring and is answered by EE so if you have another number you are likely scammed, and if you have clicked any links time to do a full AV and malware scan of the PC

It's all true. On 5 December EE closed all our BB Member's Centre online accounts and wants us to create a new MyEE account if we don't already have one for mobile or add BB to our mobile one.

Remember when filling in your BB details that it's asking for those previously on your BB account as a security check.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC

Thanks, Bob.

I had not received any prior notification - only discovering the situation after being notified that the Nov 2017 Bill Summary was available.

Which I then tried to access; and being prevented from doing so.

Now sorted.
