EE GFast users - do you get Modem + Router ?

Hello,

I�m trying to find out conclusively (unsuccessfully so far) what equipment you get when you order GFast (Fibre Max2) from EE anno 2019.

My order states I will receive the new �EE Smart Hub�.

Ideally what I want is the BTO GFast Modem + EE Router, as then I can easily use my own router (ASUS RT 86u).

Can anyone confirm that you still get the Modem+Router combo when ordering this service from EE ??

I�m aware BT now offer a single Modem/Router product but I �think� this is a newer product than what EE offer.

Also did you have your faceplates upgraded to a �GFast� specific faceplate ??

You'll get a G.Fast modem from OR & an EE Smart Hub sent by EE.

If it's an eng install, as it probably is, he may replace the faceplate with a G.Fast one.

EE haven't yet caught up with BT on their new combined BT "Ultrafast" Smart Hub X.

The BT SmartHub X is now replaced by the new SmartHub 2

Was told yesterday that if you unless your chosen provider is BT Retail, you should be given an Openreach modem - and yes there is a specific new faceplate filter installed.

I was going to buy a GFast faceplate myself (£35) just to be sure I had one, but looks like you get it supplied so that�s great... and saved me some money !!

That's good to hear that EE will send engineer to replaced master socket faceplate and supplied Openreach Modem MT992 with EE Smart Hub.
