Have you checked if such a device even exists?

Many providers routers/hubs are not rebranded versions of an existing manufacturers device but are made and designed specifically for the ISP.
Usually in this case there is never a publicly available firmware that can be flashed.

If you know if the bright box is a copy of another model then posting what that model is would help others to look for you but I suspect it's a custom made device with no firmware available.

It's a very low end device, here's the OpenWrt page for it

https://openwrt.org/toh/arcadyan/ar7516

There's no way it's worth your time to mess around with a decade old wireless-N ADSL router.

This is the EE BrightBox 1(R) & that's what it looks like. It is not its predecessor, the EE BrightBox 1, as shown in the preceding post. It is still in use by EE & issued for ADSL connections.

There is no repository for its firmware but while still in use with EE it will be kept up-to-date with firmware updates by EE as & when necessary.

It cannot be used with any other ISP; only on EE ADSL BB.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 73 Meg FTTC (no landline no.)
