Anyone got this or thinking of getting it?
I picked it up for the PS3 yesterday, it's a good fun game - easier to start out with (you can pull off combos without really knowing what you're doing) than Street Fighter 4 but I can see it will be very hard to master all of the characters.
The biggest annoyance with online mode is that you can't watch fights that you aren't fighting in (unlike SFIV).
Not wanting to give too much away, but the end boss is very cheap and you need a lot of skill to beat it
If anyone here gets (or has already got) it and wants a fight or two then add me on PSN (my ID is dtighe).

Not ever really been into fighting games to be honest as i am a true lover of most things FPS..............So next week is the one for me with Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm on the agenda.

Apparently, Killzone 3 has already been released for the PS3. Sorta. Kinda. Just not in the way Sony would've wanted.
Killzone 3 leaked
And same goes for Crysis 2 on the PC.

|
|
Killzone, bulletstorm, crysis 2, etc take your pick.
However out of that list only 1 is on the PC and it isn't even a finished build.
Personally I find it suspect that crysis 2 was leaked, especially how something similar happened to crysis 1. If i worked at crytek my concern would not be "oh its pirated damn them all" but "HOW did it leak out".
But anyway, it'll be leaked for consoles too in a couple of weeks in finished state. Its the way it goes and not a turd will be given by the gaming press, not even that retard jim sterling at destructoid who needs to get a grip, wake up and pay attention, hes as bad as patcher and kotick in my eyes.
But i digress, i find this MUCH more amusing than leaks,

Hey Spook Long time no see mate
|
|
|
Falcon and Spook return......................Yea ha !
Killzone 3 rocks and the more i see i Crysis the more i want it,after playing the skyline multiplayer demo on 360 i have to say i was not that impressed after all the hype train.
Single player looks really promising though and if the multiplayer turns out better than the limited 1 map beta flaws and all then we may have a contender.
I look forward to next Thursday when i am sure i will have some fun with bulletstorm and plenty of online hours with Killzone 3.

And you buddy.
Been away a while. Now I'm back and have my very own internet again. I am hungering for some good old online gaming as I've been cold turkey for the last 7 or 8 months. Have I missed much?
Still haven't gotten a console and don't expect I'll get one anytime soon as I doubt I could afford the leccy bill from hooking it up to my telly.
Good to see you're as eager about gaming as ever, T2D. I've seen the Killzone 3 ads on tv and it does look tasty. Shall investigate Bulletstorm (what a cool name for a game). Got a lot to catch up with.

Very interesting! It's always an eye opener to see what hackers come up with and I totally agree with you that EA/Crytek have only themselves to blame and should be seriously investigating their own security systems. It's a pretty serious matter for a games publisher if, after years of hard work and millions of pounds in investment some spotty little oik gets his hand on a near finished copy and torrents it. I'd be looking to lock him up. And//or beat him up!

Where you been then Spook if you don't mind me asking ? [not iron bars in front of your eyes mate please no] ,Bulletstorm and Killzone 3 are looking good Spook but you could have checked out the Bulletstorm demo if you had a console.
There is a demo for Bulletstorm coming after the release of both these games next Friday 25th.
Killzone is a lot of fun and a great game, was in the closed beta and the multiplayer that was open to all for the past few weeks.now its finished and i have had more fun with this online than most FPS i have played in the past few years.
Bulletstorm is more of a Fun FPS but the short demo that last only about 6 minutes makes you want the full game.
There is a review embargo on Bulletstorm and that kind of makes me think all ain't right with this game even though it looks super cool.
I am hoping the reviews turn out favourably but i have both games coming next week regardless.
You certainly been missed in these gaming forums mate as most times apart from my dribble and a few others its quite dead which is a shame.
UPDATE.
After writing this i found a review of Bulletstorm from a not so well known site that is obviously not concerned about review embargo.
Looks good Spook.........................

Not got it, played the last 2 and was a big fan, I love Marvel anyway so it appeals to me a lot! I think I will give it a couple of months until I can pick it up preowned for sub £20 as it's not a game I could justify the full £40 on....

Thanks mate. I haven't been doing time, gov. Honest! Well, not at Her Majesty's pleasure at least. It's a complicated story but essentially I've been away from my permanent home whilst extensive renovations were taking place. All in all, 7 months had passed and I couldn't get myself a proper internet hook up at the temporary residence for numerous reasons.
And no playing games either! Crikey!! That's right. 7 months no games. You'd be amazed at what you can achieve in the real world when you're not immersed in a game world. Nah. Just kidding. I found plenty of other ways to procrastinate and lounge around!
Anyway, it's good to be back. I am looking forward to gaming online again. Just now I am replaying Oblivion. I know, what a geeky nerd. But it's pretty good now that I have a computer capable of running everything on max. Sorry to hijack the thread btw. Shall look into the original topic as I am also quite fond of Marvel and Capcom.
Game on!

Nice having you back Spook and i guess you be looking forward to the Crysis 2 release in a months time.
Played the multiplayer demo on a xbox 360 on 1 map called skyline, game was good but not quite as awesome as i expected,on the other hand if you watch single player footage of the game it looks drop dead amazing especially on a high end pc.
Think the console versions will be getting a graphical great game but pc gamers as in for a treat if they have the rigs to play it in all its glory.
Look forward to your imput Spook and nice to have you back around mate thats for sure, can not lose one of only a handfull of gamers that actually post stuff on these very gaming forums.
I think besides yourself and me along with Gzero,Falcon,Guest.Jaxx and anybody else i forgot there is not much posting going on here. .
So its a breath of fresh air to come into the Gaming forums and see something from a long time contributor SPOOKish.........................Nice one mate.
Since you have not been Gaming the past 7 months i would suggest getting the awesome Red Dead Redemption by Rockstar mate................More than likely my game of the year for 2010.
Not sure what part of last year it came out so i feel that you may have already checked it out before all your renovations.

Last I read Rockstar Games said they had no intention of releasing a Red Dead Redemption for the PC, which is helluva shame. I had been holding out and it's things like this that, once all the hype has died down and my desire has gone down to normal levels, I look back and think well stuff you then Rockstar. It was the same with Remedy and Alan Wake. That really annoyed me.
Max Payne 3 is on the horizon. I didn't think much of no. 2 as it ruined the previous classic title's storyline, which for me was a big part of the original game's appeal. Yeah Max Payne 2 was good in itself but unforgivable for writing such a pap story and undermining the original. Max Payne 3 looks like it has an even dodgier story to it so guess that's a nonstarter.
Crysis 2 I am definitely looking forward to. Even if it cannot match the original it should still be good. I mean Crysis had plenty of bad gaming points to it to make it a chore at times - the infamous alien level etc. I hated floated around in that stage. And I know people didn't get on with the flight section.
I've still got Crysis Spearhead or whatever it's called to play through. I never got the chance to play it whilst away. I think I will have to get busy installing some of the games I have queued up from before the move. Just need to stop playing Oblivion! Yeah, this year I think I shall make more effort to play games and really sample a few from different genres like PC racing games that I have been wary of getting into due to control input.
Nice to hear from you mate. Hope you are well and enjoying your gaming. Sounds like KZ3 has got you all fired up and ready for some action! Spook, over and out! Now where did I put that Battefield 2 disc...?

Max Payne 2 story was great - even more film noir than the first.

Spook i know you are from a Pc Background but you really have to invest in a console mate and then you dont miss out on some great games.
I was only into PC gaming once but have always had the consoles in the background since the old days of the snes/mega drive and even before with the spectrum/commodore systems.
Now i only ever play my consoles and do not even bother with the pc for any sort of gaming apart from playing the odd game from steam that i downloaded like Bejeweled 3............Seriously its so much more fun lying back on a cozy soffa with a 46inch lcd and my wireless logitech headset i just invested in which came from Holland direct.
Aint got the girl friend thinking we got some sort of a Earthquake going on through the sound system, sounds like a war zone most nights

It made a mockery of the first Max Payne game's story, which was neat and complete in itself. Then 2 comes along and suddenly all that comes apart in the most ridiculous sloppy way imaginable.
MP2 might have been a good game in itself (it was!) and the storyline might have been good in isolation but it was like watching Highlander 2 and not appreciating how much it stained the reputation of the first (good) film by making a shambles of the original's plot and storyline. The less said about the Highlander sequels and spin offs the better. So far, the only spin off has been Max Payne the movie and I believe, though I've not seen it, that was pretty cr@ptacular too. Not quite apples to apples but close enough. If Max Payne 3 turns out to be a good game with a good storyline then I for one will be hugely surprised.

sounds like a war zone most nights
Hehe. Made me laugh!
My gaming has had long bouts of absence. Started off with a Spectrum, then had a NES, Megadrive and SNES. Then a big break. Came late to the party around the year 1999 with a Playstation then got a PC and that's been it since.
With RDR I had really given serious thought to getting a console so I could continue to play games whilst I was away but never got round to it. I bought a bike instead. Middle aged crisis coming on! Well, I'm not quite there yet but anyway, I do see your point about getting a console. I really ought to but feel if I did I'd never see my PC again. There are other factors to think of also, number one being I've spent all my dough. Well, we'll see. One day perhaps? I do like the look of the new Xbox, seems like the way forward to me. Plus I have a few contacts who could probably lend me some games!

Buy an x-box controller for your PC I bought one recently because I severley disliked mouse and keyboard for that.

Mr Postman dropped me a nice surprise through the letterbox today..........Killzone 3 and its 2 days early...............I expected it Thursday along with Bulletstorm as my favourite Online retailer never fails to let me down..........
Some serious gaming online later tonight so better put my headset on me thinks

Hey, cheers for that. Yeah, I guess that's the logical thing to try. Xbox controller here I come!

Nice one - can't beat that earlier-than-it-should-be feeling! Happy gaming. Let us know how you got on.

You know, what I wrote sounded more like a rant. I'm sorry if it did. I also appreciate the hard boiled detective novel approach that Max Payne's writer used. Lots of nice touches throughout. I still didn't rate the second installment for its story, just in view of the way it destroyed the nice memories I had for the first. MP2 deservedly won awards for its artwork and the game play was excellent in the main.
That's the beauty of the MP franchise - there's no better feeling I've had from using such a good array of guns for some serious shooting mayhem. Plus bullet time was a really well implemented and novel addition for the time. Good stuff. I hope MP3 will borrow from all that Remedy got right. I just pray the guy writing it doesn't make it so insestuous this time round. The characters were more romantically and dysfunctionally intwined than an episode of Eastenders in Max Payne 2!

Been playing it tonight and have even downloaded the 2 updated Killzone 2 maps,so now that's 10 multiplayer maps.
Problem is with the open Beta there was only 1 map and i new it like the back of my hand.now i am a complete clueless idiot that is running around like a headless chicken dying more than killing.
Going to take some time Spook to rank up and learn these new maps.
Oh and the game is awesome mate and a visual treat on the eyes....

Cool. Glad to hear it's looking all right. Running around like a clueless idiot pretty much sums up my experience of online FPS games, even on the maps I do know!

|

Amazing how the topic so quickly moved from a fighting game to fps games and then Max Payne

|

And not forgetting Highlander!

Anyone else got this yet?
