Many threads on the web as to how multiplayer code is ruining many peoples online experience. This seems to explain it quite concisely. Whatever happened to the days that you chose a server with a similar connection status?
Party play probably causes a lot of trouble, but matchmaking is still terrible in mercenary matches where parties aren't allowed. Coding for the majority I guess.
