The Steam summer camp sale has just started. Looks like there'll be new daily deals at 6pm up to July 10th. As always, it's best to wait to buy anything you want till the last day if it's not a daily deal. Still haven't played all the games I bought from the last one. x)
Slightly tempted by Borderlands myself. Recettear is a great little indie game and I've heard good things about Bit.Trip Runner.
Thought this might be a useful link too:

And so it starts, I wonder how much steam is going to pillage of me this time...
Already bought frozen synapse (not special title but on sale regardless), what an amazing little game, its like if chess had a random selection of units and they all had guns. You basically get a random squad on one of a ton of different game types and you plot out their movements, when they fire, what angles, what cover to stand behind, etc. All the maps are random too. Whats nice about it is though you can challenge pretty much anyone and also you get to watch the replays back, pretty much every match gets stored for people to playback and view. Also you can start as many games/take as much time/etc, since the game is turn based your opponent doesnt need to be present all the match so it just gets paused and picked up later like those email games. You get 2 copies of the game as well when you buy it (so you can give to a friend).
My first multi game i lost, watching the replay through the guy got fairly lucky with his angles, but during and after i watched his previous matches and saw about 75% of his games where he got destroyed, emphasis because the games were literally done in 2 turns and they had no dead.
Anyways, 5 objectives done today, no goodies redeemed, got my eyes on a few though, will need about 15 tickets to get all i want from it.

And so the swag bag swells, spacechem + alien breed + dwarfs 5 tickets for today

I've managed to resist thus far. I've heard good things about Magicka so that's a possibility. I'd get Super Meat Boy if I didn't already own it. Great game.
If you've got 3 other friends to play Magicka with, yeah it's good fun.
However, it can be a pain to get all 4 of you's in a game with out it crashing on someone.
Also it's actually quite a system hog, so don't go thinking that a low spec pc can run it. ;p
Magicka is great fun with friends and such, its also refered to as the wizard suicide/murder simulator for reasons that will be obvious as early as the tutorial. Its not really a solo game.
Bought hoard and garshap today to get the tickets, they were cheap and looked semi decent.

Got my self the swedish summer achievement, using my 360 controller (yeah casting rain on the 360 controller lmao)
Really want to get Assassin's Creed 2 but can't bring myself to with that dreaded UbiDRM attached. Men of War I'll probably get, if only to shut a friend up that keeps begging me to get it. x)
Went and got the pack for £17 off steam, might as well.
I got all of yesterdays tickets , only 4 today though
Yeah, even though I've got less of a chance, I'm still organising my top 10 wishlist to be the expensive Steam games.
You dirty rotten [un-censored!] - Do you work for Valve?? This might cost me again!!
Will take a look every day 'til the 10th. Ta for that.
I wish I got a commission.
Well with you being a man of impecable taste i bet you already own the sims 3 complete pack also the railworks + all dlc packs too so that would be a hard task I jest.
I filled mine with stuff like saints row the third, deus ex HR, dead island, brink, i cheated the system and went via the US site to add red faction armageddon etc most of the games i picked are either still fairly high on the top sellers or are up and coming since you are allowed preorders now. They might not be fantastic but hey, free is free and theyre still going to be worth quite a bit.

Nice idea, but would it get around this game is not available in your region message?
Don't know if you'd have earned much tonight anyway - only got a couple.
The Tiny Bang Story.
Mishap 2: An Intentional Haunting - Collector's Edition.
Penny Arcade Adventures: Precipice of Darkness Combo Pack.
Worms: Reloaded.
They are loading so that'll do. I went through the complete list of games and was a pita when one was bought, and then you have to go though the whole list from the beginning to see if there is anything else worth it.
I won't look again until the 10th.

My god we are being ripped off!?!?!
Surprisingly not recently, prices are actually cheaper in £

Only in some instances, other times (can't name any) the conversion rate is bad.

Have spent a fair amount thanks to this post. Got Borderlands, B:BC2 Vietnam, Garry's Mod, Fallout New Vegas and DLC for them.
Was put out by the total lack of foresight Valve had in releasing TF2 for free and the strain it would have on their server load during sale season. My downloads for Borderlands was feckin ridiculously slow.
Looks like we're up to speed now though. The broadband genie is being kind to me again. Thanks for the links!
You may still be out of luck but you can often change your download region to get better speeds. Settings>Downloads+Cloud>Download Region if you don't know about it.
You can see server load here:

Tried that mate. Tried everything! Changed it to Singapore, US-NYC etc. Swings and roundabouts. No worries now though, it seems to be back to normal.

Another day where i dont intend on buying anything hurrah, if i did though i might pick up nation red in a 4pack, but otherwise nothing for me, 29 tickets
Are you sure you don't want CoD4 for only $9.99? Oh wait sorry, we're in rip off Britain, that will be £9.99
I bought AI War. Playing it on my netbook (Amd)!
Thanks for the link btw. Didn't realise it had what it had in it at the time. Cool. Maybe should've tried UK Manchester instead, Steam is going slow again today and I'm still downloading Bully: Scholarship Edition and Fallout: New Vegas from yesterday.
Nothing tempted me today.

hehe, good ole activision
Couldnt stand AI War, found its UI horrid to use.
I did preempt the achievements/tickets in 3 other games, wonderful end of the world (complete the game in a sitting), RUSH (find and complete the solar flare level aka click the sun and go), spiral knights (get a firecracker bomb, i.e buy it off the marketplace which will probably be inflated tomorrow, buy the recipe and make it yourself or buy it from a vendor)

I quite like AI war, but as you say the interface is very messy, good thing it was only a couple of quid. Sort of like Supreme commander in space with an immobile commander.
Yeah I'm grinding the achievements, but I am not installing trash like spiral knights for an achievement.
Spiral knights aint bad, its a time killer with friends, log on, do a dungeon run, get some materials/stuff, use up your energy allowance, log off.
Disappointed with todays that bittrip runner wasnt discounted again (on the 30th it was 1.74, today/yesterday it was 3.49), funny to see valve/steams own ticket went AWOL today. I assume wonderful end of the world and/or 123 kick it are on the ticket list today.
BTW Atom zombie smasher is a pretty neat kinda game, kinda strategical, good laugh and of its humour is quite nice, blendo/dejobaan/introversion/two tribes/etc can't really go wrong with them, some really nice work, effort and support, in all their games.

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/06/direct2drive-offer...
Seems like direct2drive are getting in on it too, can't say i'd be picking up anything from them though, too many bad words from friends about them and my own experience wasnt that great either, that and IGN are trying to off load D2D in favour of their newer own PC store... I'm cautious, could be the first digital sales site to disappear assuming gamestop dont run impulse into the ground fast.

Yeah was confused about that one, a feature that I've not seen much of and that will demand high bandwidth, yet they tried to make it a Summer Camp Achievement.
I'm trying to hold back on Indie games, I don't deny they are good, just some of them seem way too short that I play them once and they are as good as done.
Thats why i am for the ones with compelling stories/experiences i.e braid/limbo/etc or ones which mix things up every play through i.e atom zombie smasher/beat hazard/etc
Took another look today and purchased a cheap games today - couldn't resist - so loading Trapped Dead (£5.99) and left it at that.
It looks ok for messing about with in-between games.
