Yeah, shame it wasn't higher res video. Some reassuring statements made but they sounded like they might've been straight out of the EA PR dept.

Beta, months old... Graphics, an improvement... Well, let's hope so! Never thought we'd consider PS3 graphics capability lacking so soon to be honest.

Plenty of grunt left in the old console yet then...

For me to complete a game it has to suck me in within minutes of me playing it,for me thats what games are like First impressions...........Just like when you meet a Girl for the first time.

So, for you, it has to be love at first sight, then, I guess! Mind you, you seem to go through more than your fair share of uglies getting there. Duke Pukem? You definitely had yer beer goggles on that night. wink

Ain't that the truth! tongue

FWIW, my Spectrum had a dodgy power lead too. I remember you had twist the plug going in to the Speccy just so and pray it held. A sneeze or fart in the room and there'd be trouble!

The clan is called FiFo (fifogaming.com) and you are more than welcome to jump onto our teamspeak if you want. I always think it is a good idea for people to come and hear us for an hour or so - people soon figure out if they will like it in our clan (we call it banter but if you don't want to be around people swearing and generally taking the mick out of each other... pretty much constantly, then you probably won't like it there!).

There isn't a massive amount of people playing BC2 currently - Minecraft and Heroes of Newerth have taken over since the beta has finished but come BF3 release date everyone will be playing it.

Oh, and feel free to add me as a friend in BC2 if you want - my in game name is ilh. (had to put the full stop on the end since lots of developers have decided that names have to be 4 letters or longer now). I always play on the same server at the moment since I have found a nice busy one with some good players.

My eldest is moving on to secondary school next year and we have had to look at a couple to see which one we prefer. The one we went to tonight had a Speccy hanging on the wall in the computer room. My daughter thought it was something one of the kids had made for a DT project.

Safe to say I clipped her ear appropriately. Rubber keys are under rated nowadays. wink

I've only viewed videos of BF3 so far, but I have BF3 on pre-order. I wonder how many patches will be released just as BF3 is released and in the first month or two after release. The game does look very nice though and looks like it will be good fun for both SP & MP modes.

PC-wise I have a nice shiny new desktop rig with an i5 650 (3.2ghz, but overclocks very nicely), 8 gb DDR3, 1.5 tb hdd, GeForce GTX 460 & a 42" Hanspree full HD TV. So far I haven't installed any of my games on the new PC.

I will also pick up MW3 once it's out and I see just how many patches it requires to make it a 'finished' version. I'll only get MW3 for SP mode in all honesty.

If only the console versions looked like THIS then there would be no argument on which is the better looking game.wink

If i was 20 years younger i would have bought another High end PC and not my Imac.

When i see footage like this which is obviously from a very high spec PC it does make me a tad jealous .

That does look amazing. Good to see they are shooting at helis with machine guns, maybe they have some effect???
On BC2 you may as well throw a stone as bullets have no effect.
Here's hoping that the pilots fear us smile

FiFo, as in first in first out? Thanks I'll check your rather professional looking site out.

Do you guys still play BF2 at all? I never got into playing BFBC2 as, at the time, I lost my internet for seven months or so. I wonder if it's worth giving it some play time before BF3 comes out?

It's good when you find a decent server to play on. I used to play on the UK Warfare ones quite a bit but never got into joining a clan. Think it would be good to play with regulars though. Better team play is definitely what I'm craving I guess; it's just that I wouldn't want to be amongst people who were too competitive (as I suck a bit too much for that).

Thanks for giving me the details. I'll definitely add you if I load up BC2 any time soon. I have the game on my hard drive as I bought the Vietnam expansion pack back in the Steam sales. Cheers. smile

Haha! Glad to hear you steered your daughter straight. What a blasphemy! A suitable punishment would be buying her a Speccy and forcing her to use it for a week. That would be both educational and fun*. Though these days the social services would probably see it as a cruel and unusual form of torture!

Ahhhh. Fond memories. tongue

* depending on your point of view of course (ie - if either very dedicated or plain masochistic!)

Fond Memories more like fond Nightmare wink

Think of what kids have today and what the games will look like in a decade or so if not sooner when more than likely by then i will have finished with gaming for good.tongue

Can really not see me gaming approaching the 60 mark in a decade or so tongue
