well pre ordered BF3 LE ( PC version ) at ASDA for £25 but tempted to cancel as I really am unsure as to what format to buy it on. Believe it or not I cannot get to grips with the mouse and keyboard . and so think a more relax style of play on the Xbox may suit. Plus there is all the hassle of setting stuff up etc etc, console is just plug and play!

W00t. I know what I would do!

Load up Unreal Tournament and get used to the mouse/keyboard again. You'll soon get the hang of it and rediscover why it's so much better than using a control pad.

However, I am sure the console is king when it comes to minimising hassle. They are already talking about a day one patch even for the console but higher texture downloads for the PC.

Bigger maps for PC though. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Might check ASDA out myself though I believe Amazon (where I have been pre-ordered from since Feb) should price match that. I shall have to go see for myself.

I know sounds daft might just hold onto it , maybe get MW3 for console for crimbo shall see. Only reason I ordered was due to it being £25 but I suspect I might have to wait a wee while till it arrives ie I do not expect it on release day which is no big problem as long as its not weeks.

Now UT are there still servers out their? That was the numero 1 fps game for me at the time in fact we still talk about it at work ! Unstoppable!!, humiliation!!, Multi Kill!!

Ha. Yes. MMmmmmm-monster kill! I liked playing the single player campaign and using the sniper rifle for some lovely head shots. He's unstop..pable!

The fast and frenetic gameplay of the UT series will soon bring your mouse skills back up to par.

I just searched ASDA for BF3 but it looks like they must've sold out and have withdrawn it from public view. £25 was a steal and a fair bit under what other vendors are selling it for. Amazon are about average at currently £29.91 so no reason to change that just yet. They say they will dispatch from tomorrow with a delivery expected for Thursday or Friday (official release day).

When I pre-ordered I wasn't too fussed about getting it a few days late. But after playing the beta, then that became another matter. But I don't really mind if I don't get it on release though it would be nice to have it for the weekend maybe.

I also have Skyrim pre-ordered but that's not expected till November 11th. Amazon are only asking £27.89 for it and I hope it doesn't slip too far in case its release gets pushed back some. I'd get CODMW3 if I could afford it but I've spent too much on games these past couple of months already. It's a shame I can't get a refund on Deus Ex HR actually.

I'd prefer if companies like IW and EA stopped wasting time and resources making these sorts of games for console children with joypads.

Why would developers stop making games like this for consoles as they sell 20 times more than the PC equivalent .

Not all console players are immature kids but i will agree there are more children on consoles than the PC crowd but then again they are so readably accessible and lets face it many get Platstation 3 and xbox 360 for Christmas unlike a brand new PC.

So to say what you do is not really the way to go because there are many of us on here that own consoles that are mature adults that hate the screaming head banging kids you talk about on consoles ruining the experience.

Playing an FPS on a console is like turning up to a track day in a reliant robin.

I dont have any issues of playing a FPS on a console and find the switch very easy,you also fail to mention that many of us that have switched to consoles were once PC gamers.

And if that is not enough i also know a few people that play fps on consoles that will give you a serious run for your money...........Mouse and keyboard and all....

I seriously doubt that. There are plenty of articles around regarding consoles Vs PC being entirely possible but not done on purpose. I'm not saying they couldn't get kills and they couldn't maybe do ok in 1 on 1 fight (although are you going with console players + aim assist?) but you can't shoot 1 person and then another directly behind you and then 1 back at the from again but up on the 3rd floor anything like the time I can do it with a mouse and as an ex PC player you should know this. You just simply cannot accurately move your crosshair with a joypad as fast as a PC and FPS is a lot about that.
