You know what really sucks?

All these new games are coming out that I want to play but I can't - you know why?
Because I have been stuck working in France since July, and my consoles are all packed away in boxes as my parents moved. I need to find somewhere to live for November so It's likely I wont get a chance to play any of these games until December or January - at which point there will be even more games out that I want to play.

I fear I'm going to miss some really great games because of this

well it depends how you look @ it ok fair enough you are missing out because you can't play any games..

but just think of the money you will save from not buying games as soon as they come out and having to pay full retail..by the time you get in a position where you can play em you will be able to buy them up at half the cost they were when they first got released..

My French is so bad I can only hazard a guess that I am anywhere near my intended meaning. Most of the games released thus far have been rubbish anyhow. I keep getting killed in BF3 now. My mojo has gone. You're not missing much.

If we could get in the same squad, it would be nice.

I got kicked off that last server. Tried many times to pick a different squad with you in it but kept getting random [censored].

Got fed up in the end so didn't attempt to reconnect. My copy of Deus Ex arrived yesterday so I might have a go in a minute.

Er, no. And no it doesn't. Not unless Bruce is a french pet name for Carla Bruni.

It didn't save the progress anyway, [censored] server, unlocked stealth like 5 times now, they claim this beta is old but heck why would you let people play on this pile of poo. Saving my money.

I've been flipping swayed and pre ordered it again. The high res install thing gave me high hopes for the campaign and co op modes.

Just don't say I told you so if it turns out pants!

I've heard that the coop is rather bad for a coop (poor checkpoint placement, and only a handful of levels).

I heard that the single player isn't entirely long either.

And here is me thinking you were a hardened PC gamer and Battlefield supporter,like mrnelster i pre/ordered again after i cancelled it.

It does not help that the likes of you Gzero are not that impressed with the game just like myself and mrnelster said in previous posts.

If there was ever a game i had serious doubts about its this one and if i keep hearing negative things about the game i may decide once and for all to cancel the order until i get the lads that have bought it on here points of view after release.

I mean I'm not exactly stuck for games to play because there is so much that has just been released and with Saints Row the Third and MW3 and Uncharted 3 just around the corner its wiser to take a step back on games that don't tickle your fancy.

I find it a bit depressing, in terms of pc gaming, there isn't much that is hardcore for the pc anymore. Hard reset was okish but nothing like Half Life or Serious Sam.

I suppose there is Doom 4 to look forward to, but I am not a Horror fan as Resi 4 on the GC was a one off and AVP2 was scary!

I'm hoping for a good Unreal game or Quake 5.

At last a PC gamer that realises that developers have focussed more of there development on consoles for better or for worse.

I mean apart from Battlefield which is on the horizon when is there really a reason for a console gamer to defect back to PC Gaming.

There was a thread by Nvidea that i put on here some weeks back claiming PC gaming is getting bigger and bigger,personally i beg to differ and Nvidea claims that in about 5 years the PC gaming market will overtake that of the consoles is outrageous claim if I'm honest.

I just sold my 3DS gaming PC built by Scan 3 years ago for peanuts on ebay,cost virtually £2000 at the time and within months it was showing its age.

Thats my biggest gripe with gaming and a PC ,you go out spend hundreds of pounds on updating your ram and buying a fancy graphic card and then 6 months later a game like Battlefield comes along and you have to turn everything down just to play it or go out and spend another few hundred once again.

Its only every few years now that any console gamer has cause for concern regarding a certain game,Battlefield is obviously that game with suppose drop dead gorgeous graphics and 64 player online matches which the consoles on this occasion can not match

If i had the time,energy and passion then indeed i would invest again in a state of the art PC but i just can not be bothered anymore especially when it's only on the odd occasion that a game gets released that needs a nice rig in the first place.

But i will admit some of my best gaming many years ago was spent with a PC and as far as things like Team Speak it was far more a mature market than is the idiot teenagers that frequent the console market.

As i get older I'm just more suited to playing consoles because once bought there is no upgrading and its quick and easy and suits my needs and has plenty on offer in the games department.

Remember 10 years ago if not before everything that was game related came out on a PC and its one of the reasons i got into PC gaming,now go into any game shop and you be lucky to find the PC games hidden somewhere on a small shelf space at the back of the shop.

Apparently Rage, a console game, looks excellent when tweaked and set up properly, which is why I'm hoping for a Quake 5 or something new for pc.

It is pitiful, down the centre, finding pc games is like looking for free parking, secluded at a distance you have to walk to.

The high street for gaming is dominated by just one company and we all know what their attitude is to the PC, they see it as a threat. PC games have been relegated out of prime place for a number of reasons and even though their shelf space has definitely dwindled over all, as far as console gaming was concerned, PC was always something of a more niche choice. Consoles seems to be where the big money is, at least on the high street.

Of course, a lot has changed now and the PC market is growing but not so much triple A titles. It's all about casual gaming - Facebook and other SNSs plus free 2 play, downloading services, additional downloadable content, micro-transactions and all the rest of it. Nvidia in my mind are fudging things when they claim the PC market will overtake that of console gaming and hugely at that. Of course there's a lot of revenue in more so called 'casual' gaming that doesn't require whopping great beasts of graphics cards. The growth of mobile gaming on tablet and touchscreen phone UIs offered by Android and iOS has obviously caught the imagination and the established software houses are playing catch up.

It must be pretty tough being HMV or Game right now.

If I were you and T2D I would hold off pre-ordering BF3 until the reviews are out. I would be very interested in seeing what it looks like first plus if it had a decent single player game of any length. Something tells me that might not be overly long or massively satisfying.

Plus, it will likely require a good few months to iron out online game issues. By then it'll be cheaper too. That said, if it gets rave reviews or you're tempted by great looking gameplay then you can always get it then. As T2D says, there's a lot of choice out there right now so you'll not be lacking if you don't get BF3 right away.
