3rd Person Action Adventure List

[link to this post]

I have decided not to go for Dead Space 2 or Uncharted 1 & 2 for the time being (familiarity breeds contempt and all that). 3rd person Action Adventure is my new bag, so please add any upcoming examples that you think look worth a punt.

I've thought about Resident Evil but I'm not sure yet. So far my number one on the waiting list is The Last of Us.

Scratch that. Downloaded the demos of both Uncharted 1 & 2 last night and I'm hooked again. Picking up both tomorrow hopefully. Is it just me or does UC2 look better than 3 on some level?

And it's swayed my first Vita game reasoning again now! crazy

How about Skyrim? grin

Or have you played GTA IV yet? Okay, so not adventure as such but you know, it's um, similar. smile

I won't bother with Skyrim because I think it will be too frustrating on the PS3 even after the fixes.

I've never looked at GTA IV. Might check out YouTube. smile

Saw Bioshock 2 in Sainsbury's this evening for £6 on PS3.

Didn't bite because of your post about it being a let down playing as a thingamabob. Still want to try the first one.

The first Bioshock was a brilliant game and i am sure you will love it,the second was also good but it never had the shock impact of the first.

When a game comes along such as Bioshock which in all honesty at the time was quite fresh with new ideas it had a bit of shock value.

So when you make a follow up its expected that you are going to get more of the same, however with this type of game for me it just did not hit the mark second time around.

Im hoping Bioshock 3 will re kindle a little of the love i had with the first game.

Well said. Yeah, I agree, Bio2 was a disappointment overall. One of the best things about Bio1 was the storyline and shock value. Amazing game, a real classic. The second is - not really worth getting, not even to extend the enjoyment of the first as it's just weird in my view and not a patch on the original.

How can you guys say...

I agree. laugh

It even shows in the game design and story that it was more of a cash in by another studio, with the rpg elements even more dumbed down.
Mrnelster played Mass effect? Or Max Payne?

Never played mass effect, but I seem to remember playing a Max Payne game many moons ago and not liking the control scheme. That said I might be getting it confused with something else.

I thought the new video looked pretty awesome, so hopefully it plays as well as it looks. Won't be able to afford much in the way of games while I'm saving up 100 quid for T2D's Vita as an Easter present to myself. tongue

4 hours thoughts on the Vita ?

[re: mrnelster] [link to this post]

Nice one matey but £100 is way to much as i was thinking more on the lines of £25 and a second hand copy of Battlefields 3..............Not smile

Played the Vita for about 4 hours straight tonight but only 1 game...........Lumines

If you ever get a Vita then this is the first game you buy with it.......No hesitation ?

Obviously it helps if you like Dance music and Puzzle games and making Brick combinations ,but i tell you now it was the best game on the PSP and its a essential purchase on the Vita and even better.

Games like this are the only reason i bought a vita in the first place besides your ranting on about it and starting a Vita Thread [costing me a small fortune you are]

The more i play with the Vita the more i love its interface and ease of use, been on the Vita store and there is much to download when it actually works.

When you click on Download not a lot happens and it sort of tells you to check your connection and gives you the usual Playstation error code that don't mean a thing to anyone other than a technician from Sony tongue

So you go into settings run a connection test everything is fine and Dandy and then you go back to the Vita store and the demo downloads.

I have noticed some nice bargains on the store even cheaper than the shops and basically all the games seem to be there to buy direct.

There was one joke though even though its a brilliant game that i may buy tomorrow and that was Super Stardust delta priced at £39.99...........Not only is this a slight remake of a old game but come on give me a break this is the cost of a Playstation 3 game.

Also downloaded a game for free called Fireworks but i could not be bothered at the time to get out the AR cards it required to play the game.

Escape plan is priced at £9.99 and that game does interest me,it should cost me a fiver once the promotion code comes through my email, some sort of gift in the pack i bought which lets you have a fiver of a choose of 4 games on this Vita Site.

All in all it a impressive device but very much in the mould of a PSP only a nicer screen, lighter and a nicer interface.

What was strange was when i put one of the game carts in the slot it actually seemed to install it and my 4 gig memory card only seems to have just over 2 Gig left.

Looks like 4 gig will last a few days and me thinks a 32 gig is on the cards sometime soon, personally i would have got a bigger one but this is what came in the package..

Going to give Dungeon Hunter a quick go before i retire to Bed..........T2D signing of.......
