FRUSTRATION
Not that i play the game as i thought it looked rubbish on consoles and the single player was one of the worse experiences i have had the displeasure of playing through for a FPS.
But on a serious note have consoles ruined a genuine decent looking game on a high end rig in all its glory because of limitations with the 360 and Playstation.
Are only the people with the nice rigs seeing the true results and the rest of us palmed of with a watered down version totally ruined.
Im not a Battlefields fan at the best of times but i was certainly fooled when i saw those glorious videos many months ago.

Great reading i must say lol.
Really also points to the fact that the bulk (not all) of console players are kids and now have the ability to host Bf3 matches with their own rules which kinda sucks really.
Not played on my 360 since building a new rig so i've not had the displeasure of said such servers.
But the point he makes about Ea's servers have all but disappeared since being able to rent your own server is abit naughty don't ya think.

The article is mainly talking about 360 which as we know is inhabited more so by 15 year old [censored], than the ps3. But sadly the points he puts over about the game in general are true of both consoles.
As we all know the only thing the likes of EA care about these days is money
PS I'm not being a fan boy, just I've noticed that those I play with/against on the ps3 are usually older types.
Why anyone would want to pay for a server is beyond me. More money than sense???

Fact on all the consoles there are immature idiots or so called children as you call it,only on a PC do you actually get a better adult minded gamer.
Just because a few of your mates more than likely own a 360 don't think that its exclusive to a Xbox because i can tell you from someone that has played all the online games on all the networks that there is no difference as both the playstation and xbox 360 have immature idiots on there networks.
And the reasons for this is quite simple.........Consoles are easily accessible to all and sundry with minimum set up and are ideal Birthday,Christmas presents for the so called crowd you speak of.
How many parents actually buy 10 year old jimmy a gaming rig for Christmas or Birthday,Ask a child of today what he wants for a Present, A Playstation 3, a Xbox 360 .or a PC and we know what they are going to choose and it isn't the later because quite frankly they are just not clever enough to understand a PC and the console are far more user friendly for someone of that age............And thats why we get so much idiotic behaviour with a much more frequent nutter thinking its ok to whistle down the microphone or make stupid noises or even play some head banging [censored] music in the back ground........Then we might have the screaming baby crying over the air or the continuous sound of a dog barking.
Thats the downside to online console gaming and there is nothing you or i can do about it,but Swanny its not the first time you have bad mouthed the 360 and i dare say it wont be the last.

Continuously in your posts you have a dig at the 360 been the sole owner of just a Playstation 3,been a gamer Swanny its mighty time you actually realised that in most cases the 360 actually has the best version of a multi platform game...........So as much as i hate this myself having both consoles its a well know fact.

Almost brought BF3 today on the 360; however had the nagging feeling of 8 to 15 year running high on sugar before release so I passed again also had no idea of this server rental so it won�t be a consideration at all now, So thankyou for the link. To me it was obvious BF3 were always looking for a slice of the MW cake, another I avoid due to sugar high kids and poor servers. As the article strongly points too it�s the money with regards to BF3 server rental and not a big surprise with EA.
As for which has more grown up user base of the two consoles, I would have to go with PS3 over the 360, although I much favour my 360 over my PS3, I have spent countless more hours/years on the 360 than PS3, having a first day release PS3 still going strong, it pretty much did not get used until MAG came along, that�s where I compare the two user bases.
Actually looking back on the 360 games I have played I doubt the user base age was much different either, perhaps with such a narrow comparisons it�s down to the choice of game and the gamer it attracts.

T2D you don't have to own a 360 to know which age group the console is most popular with.
Personally I couldn't give a monkeys whether or not a game is better on one platform or another. I made my decision and bought the PS3 purely because I wanted something more than just a games console and can't see the point in wasting money by owning both the PS3 and the 360 just so I can get slightly different graphics or gameplay, for what it's worth IMO the best gaming option is without doubt a good gaming PC, consoles are just second best. I don't have an upto date PC as I can't be bother with that level of commitment to playing games, I have other interests in my life. The PS3 is easy to pick up and play for a bit of fun but that's all the true gaming experience comes from immersing yourself in a way that only a PC can do. I am allowed to comment on that as I did once have a top end gaming rig. If fact I've had most consoles along the way with exception to the x-boxes
I'm not bad mouthing as you put it the 360, it's as capable as the PS3 maybe even more so, but it's just not my choice.
As for immature players we all know that MW attracts the majority of those on both platforms.

Good thing you didn't, Dice as being the Demi-coders they are, have left the game in a not so good state. Bugs all over the shop and the same old reg issues which always crop up with Dice games.
In an ideal world, BF3 would be good. However there are issues with the game's engine that need addressing as well as balance issues especially against new players.

BF3 suffered with having a release on all 3 platforms, as PC went from the lead to 2nd place in order to get the console versions out.
Ideally i would have rather had the console's given the game first and kept the PC version in development to fix all of the problems, but we dont get the ideal solutions with having multiple platforms release at the same time.
As to which console is better then the other, the argument will never end but put simply who cares play on the system you like.

Fair enough Swanny and you have the right to make your views and opinion,Me from a personal level i don't see any difference as i have come across the immature crowd on both the consoles.
Cod games in general are the worse offenders but are we all really that surprised,it would be great in the future that we could actually play games with a more mature crowd and get rid of the teeny boppers amongst us with some sort of age filter or something.
Its got to the stage now where i rarely use a microphone as i have it turned of but my headset on,only when someone speaks that sounds sensible to i even try and communicate.
And on most occasions i have found the more mature gamer playing gears 3,not trying to put you down Swanny i just think that if you want Mature then you go down the PC route as we both already know.

The reason people think there are more kids playing on Xbox over PS3 is the fact Xbox have a chat system that is easy to access and easy to use , which means you come up against kids allot more often in lobby chat .
That's not to say there is not loads of kids playing PS3 , it is to say , they don't have a headset , from my experience of both consoles , the PS3 has loads of kids and going by the tactics used and how easy it is to do well on PS3 i would guess PS3 have the larger amount of kids and casual users .
Also not forgetting PSN is free and Xbox live cost money and this is a deciding factor when a parent is buying a console for little Johnny to game with and i do believe the PS3 does not come with a headset as standard and it needs to be brought as a extra .
Long and the short is , there are kids on PS3 , you just don't hear them as much as the headset is a extra .
The rent a server is a master stroke by EA as they have just got rid of one of there major costs and found a new revenue stream that will be making Activision very jealous as the Elite subscription has not been excepted or more importantly purchased by their community as nether has any of the DLC in general for MW3 .
And that is IMHO why the stealth clown has recently left Infinity Ward , the game is not moving the DLC of previous COD titles .
I am a very aggressive player and have found my self getting banned from servers just because im doing well , so yes i take issue with the fact i have to search for official servers now and don't always find them and im really not that good a player at BF3 and if im getting banned , whats happening to the really good players ?

The kids don't bother me. I play BF in a 4 man squad with 3 mates so I don't get to hear the 13 year old brats

I would have to disagree , not owning or using something and thinking you have a valued opinion on that something you know nothing about is actually ignorance in one of its many forms .
I have actually owned a Allegro Vanden plas with the 1750cc TC engine , leather , wooden trims , vinyl roof ( wait for it ) full length sunroof , it was not a great car but it was a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing and never failed to put a smile on my face as i left XR2 owners for dust , just had to remember to slow down for corners a week before you would of in other cars .
It started every day , just about stopped and very nearly went round corners and did not cost me a penny in the time i owned it . ( it did cost me my street cred but as i did not have any in the first place , who cares ? )
it lasted me 18 months and is definitively not one of my more favorable cars but for £100 it was bargain basement motoring that i would of missed out on if i had formed a opinion like yours , on what you think you know and what somebody else does actually know the reality can be very different but in the case of a Allegro it is luck and plenty of it .
Keep a open mind and don't let your own ignorance stop you from trying something you have never tried and don't know anything about from experience . you never know you might surprise your self .

PC Servers - paid for and run, generally, by adults.
Console Servers - low priced so that all the children who use consoles can afford it.

Why not? Most good PC games (unfortunately not BF3) allow for the ability to create mods and tools that can be used for lots of cool stuff not available on a vanilla setup controlled by the developer. For example the team I founded in 2005 ran lots of servers for Day of Defeat Source and Team Fortress 2 and at one point the cost was £450 per month because our servers got very popular and renting 3 dedicated quad core boxes in a data centre isn't for novices. We had glorious extras like ranking and wait for it...a ping kicker, so laggy fools from the other side of the world didn't ruin the game. Witchcraft!
But guess what...in the past when games like DODS and TF2 were popular, we actually ran those servers at a PROFIT because of the ability to use in-game tools in conjunction with PHP and database skills to allow reserved slot subscriptions. If you are given the access and tools and have the knowledge to use them then the possibilities are endless.
This concept will be alien to console players because they're used to being spoonfed [censored] through some [censored] interface and a joypad.
Lots of what the guy ranting in the article posted earlier is true...but the problem isn't dedicated servers - it's the player base on consoles being clowns.
I'm convinced most game developers have lost, or are in the process of losing, the plot. You have games on PC now that are P2P (MW2 and MW3 to an extent) and now you have consoles being given dedi servers. Lunacy. It's meddling with facts as old as the universe (in internet terms) - if it's a PC you give it dedicated server support and a CONSOLE running, so some nerd can log on to a box and set it up and tune it perfectly. If it's console - play Fifa or some racing game and P2P that nonsense.
I'm so hoping CS:GO on the PC does it right and shows that developers still know how to make a PC game.

Has the Little Bird chopper gained some IR defeating system? As plenty close enough but no lock with an Igla. The pilot was ruining game with I must say good skills, as would swoop in between buildings and if hit vanish to repair.
Was a map with no static AA, and shoulder launchers appeared semi-disabled.

If you read most the posts people like it because of it's diversity with jets, choppers etc. It's a game that you can talk about a lot because there is so much going on and so many different ways to play etc. Just don't get involved in the posts about BF3 if you really don't like it that much! The forum is here to discuss topics you like and want to discuss, if you don't like it don't waste your time putting that same things in the posts. No offence meant by this, but you seem to do it on every thread about BF3 and it's getting boring.

I'm a freak ! as i still play both MW3 and BF3 and i always have , there are things i don't like in both games and things i love in both games .
There is something going on though , as i always have run with the same group since COD3 but lately i have been running solo in MW3 waiting for my regular group of players , so we can squad up and play BF3 .
IMHO the COD bubble has burst , Activision have been very quiet with DLC figures and in general it is just not being played by as many people in my circle of friends as it once was .

I used to absolutely love COD and play it flat out back in the days of MW1, WAW and Black Ops. But I haven't really been that interested in MW2 or MW3 and all my friends have stopped playing it on Xbox in favour of Battlefield. Hopefully something new and innovative will come along in the next year or so to the FPS genre and will [censored] all our ears again but until if you want something different to run and gun BF is the only decent available option!

I too remember the original airing. Errantly allowing me and my (then 8 yr old younger brother) to watch the Young Ones was the coolest thing my dad ever did for us I reckon.
Best episode ever was Bambi for sure. When I'm watching that particular episode, I also know the words off by heart. My mate is much better than me though, he knows it all verbatim and can do an excellent Rik Mayall impression. Not arf!

I didn't see it as a battle by the way but I did think I'd add my weight behind the others as it's definitely time for you to recognise you're the only one who seems to think there's a battle with regards BF3 and MW3.
