PS3 Headset

Is a headset needed to be able to play BF3 properly? If so, are there any suggestions as to a reasonably priced heastset, around the £30-40 mark?

I have a turtle beach PX21 which is brilliant
Think it was £60 though
You don't need one but it does make game play better if you're using chat

I have used a few now , most have broke to include turtlebeach X1 X11 and PX21 . I'm now using the Tritton Ax180 , a much better built headset that has out lasted all my previous Turtlebeach headsets .

There are plenty of others too choose from the PX21 where the best featured headset but alas , the easiest to break .

It does make a difference having a headset , i use my AX 180 with a Turtlebeach DSS which gives me virtual 5.1 .( on the cheap )

A example is im hiding behind a rock firing my RPG at a tank , i can hear where the tank is on the other side of the rock im hiding behind so know which side of my rock to pop up on and fire another RPG .

I honestly now struggle with out my headset as i have become so use to having the extra ability to hear my enemy's as well as see them .

And i use a PX5 which is not around £40 but 4 times as much.

The PX21 connects with a usb and phone plugs.

My PX21 is broken, the cable is dodgy and I've taped it up to keep it alive for a while longer

Mine connects via the base unit plugged into the console then Bluetooth so no wires which is what i like.

Well, I bought the Turtle Beach PX5 headset from Amazon.

They were priced at 199 in Game on the High Street and 149.99 on their website (Wouldnt' price match)

So i had a look on Amazon and they were 129.99. Then I remembered i had a £30 voucher i got when I left my last job. So got them for £99.99.

I tried them out yesterday and they are awesome. The depth of sound is excellent. Being DD 7.1, you can hear the gun fire far off in the distance. They are very comfortable to wear and as they are also blue tooth you can connect them through any laptop that has bluetooth installed.

They can be recharged but as they come with standard AA batteries I need to purchase a couple of rechargeable ones instead.

They are a nice headset but i don't like the hassle of having to switch from Xbox To playstation via the optical lead supplied.

Sound is good like you say and i enjoy putting mine on for a long gaming session especially when playing COD.

Rechargeable batteries a must because i have gone through boxes and at this price for a headset they should have been some charging device and not used standard batteries.

I had a Logitech headset before this and this charged on a cradle and it was half the price nearly.

You could do what We did with our tv/dvd/PS3 setup and buy a remote controlled Optical switch. My wife wanted an easy way of switching between sky, dvd etc.

Cheers mate its something i will look into,to be perfectly honest as not to concerned at present as i much prefer my 360 .

Had my headset for a good year now bit like everything else in the technology department advances and upgrades seem to come along as soon as you have purchased something new and i have seen some drop dead gorgeous headsets that i would buy now.

I paid about £160 for mine and i do enjoy the quality of the sound,my other gripe is the stupid white wire you have to use for the xbox controller for talking.

Again everything was bluetooth on the logitech and this was not required.

By the way nice to see a new face in the gaming forum,i know you been on this site a long time but i don't recall seeing much of you in here and oh boy do we need some Gaming posts.

Looks like you also virtually trebled your original budget of £40 .

Thanks. Being out of work it gives me more of a chance to try out games that I never had time for before and also to read what about what others are playing. However this is done once i have exhausted my daily search of jobs to apply for!

Lately have been playing BF3 for a couple of hours a day. Also played Uncharted and have a stack of games that have yet to be played properly!

You want a quality game then look no further than Dishonoured ..........Brilliant In every single way,Linear in parts or not.

Only for a few weeks, then the hype will die and BF3 will show it's still the best

More than likely,especially if it turns out to be like MW3

Funny thing is that since the disbandment of Infinity Ward ,Treyarch who were considered to be the 2nd choice Cod developers seemed to have moved the flag somewhat and upped there game.

Black ops was better than both MW2 and 3 and with the added bonus of Zombies and a new Multiplayer engine and a ton of other content it has great potential.

Saying that Swanny i would not bet on that fact or me not coming on here a few days later claiming the game is utter garbage and calling it MW 3.5

Heres hoping it turns out to be decent and the videos and previews and hype trail live up to the expectations,but we all know it will be the biggest game of the year bad reviews or not.

Gamestop have already quoted that it is the biggest pre/order of any game in history beating all previous COD games.

So as much of us that bad mouth it you can not argue that it is a massive franchise and has a massive fan base.........Teeny boppers and all

While it infuriates me that Activision is merely slapping their customers in the face every year with little to no updates to their franchise, and these consumers are happily taking it with a smile,

That's because they are just kids and don't have to spend their hard earned money on it, mummy does :/

What turned me away from the cod games apart from the kids was the lack of anti-cheat and glitch fixes, they took your money then just let the game go to hell. Greedy feckers

No actually i was just testing a jpeg link of a photo i have put on a Nissan 350z website,got a slight interior dash problem not been able to see the Speedo at night.

Long story really as the interior dash lights always come on when starting up the car.

Here

Can see the speedo in daylight hours but at night its basically non existent apart from a little bit of a light but you can not make out any dials on the clock.

Looks like a trip to Nissan Dealers
