Rumours are rife that announcement from Sony Confirming a new console come Feb 20th ,my birthday actually

Yeah, saw the news. It will help I think. People need to plan their console (and game) buying strategies.

GTA V has been pushed back to a September release too, with Xbox 360 and PS3 versions confirmed so far. But there is a hint of something that might suggest Rockstar are gonna announce versions for the next-gen consoles too maybe, perhaps in-line with news of a PC version. That's my thinking anyhow though I expect these will follow some way off and basically be enhanced res packs with a few extras thrown in.

Well, we'll need plenty of time to work out what kind of gaming power these new beasts from MS and Sony can deliver and you, T2D, will likely need a new pair of glasses and some physiotherapy on your old arthritic hands so you can continue to enjoy playing games! Hehe. Haha. Hoho.

Anyways. Are you going to buy the new Specksbox2020 like old Timey, or are you down with the kids on the PS4. (And by down I mean downstairs in the armchair).

Ho hum. PS4, Xbox720, PC, new video camera? I am a tech fiend and like my photo gear but wanna get into more video. So, I will likely be skint again in no time if I pull the trigger and get a (more pro level) videocamera.

Best to forget about me guys - I will always serve my photography addiction first and gaming will have to come second. Unless of course, I can be re-programmed to choose games... every time (like T2D!) Mind you, he never mentions it but I guess a large part of his pocket-money must be spent on brill cream and flares and other must-have mod accessories! Read a typical bit of bad news regarding the release though which is typical of Sony and the way they treat there European Customers.

Edge magazine have quoted as saying that the playstation stores will release in the Asian Territories and America end of 2013,but Europe will have to wait until March 2014.

And im a betting man that this will be how it will be and i hope all those Sony Supporters jump ship and go for a new xbox if that gets to surface sooner.

I have never ever understood Sony and Europe,without europe Sony would be no more as they are the biggest buyer of everything playstation related ,yes bigger than Japan and America.

Yes mate, for three reasons:

1. Even if the new consoles were absolutely equal, I think Sony will still deliver the better 1st party games. They always have in the past.

2. I prefer their controller. To be honest (he says running the gauntlet of the fanboys) I think the only reason people prefer the Xbox controller is because they are already used to it.

3. Why trade in the devil you already know? I don't really feel that either has enjoyed any real advantage this generation, other than perhaps game titles.

All that gaming, you'd think he'd stick to man-nappies as clearly, he can't go out all that much?

I think local brum bye laws prohibit riding a moped in a nappy, which technically leaves him housebound, poor sod.

I've never had a xbox but prefer the joypad over the sony one. I have a got an xbox joypad that I bought for the PC but only used it a couple of times.

Yeah, reckon it was something you said in another thread about not liking the Xbox controller. Most complaints about that were always down to complaints about its large size (for American shovel sized hands). Pretty academic for me as I don't have an Xbox or controller. Maybe things have changed? Always liked the Sony PS one controllers myself.

So, we've gotta wait till 2014 then. Last on the list. Probably makes sense from Sony's perspective a don't US and Japan share the same NTSC video standard? Dunno about power supply tho. Maybe grandad old timer timey does?

Power supplies are not the issue anymore as on the whole most consumer electricals now have solid state transformers which have a voltage range of approx 100V-250V. \i haven't had a transformer in years that was UK only use.

There will be the plug but that is pretty much the only regionalisation they need to deal with.

Same with the video output HDMI is now standard for HD televisions and for SD sets I would expect a composite lead which can then have a scart adaptor for Europe if needs be.

I expect it is the same deal for Europe, they just get it later on as Sony doesn't seem to make Europe a priority.

They will claim something like multi language problems over Europe but eveybody else seems to cope with that so I can't see why Sony can't.

Yeah there both 110volt but that is not the real reason,its all to do with localisation as Europe consists of many Countries and we have to have English,German,French,Spanish,Etc and this delays European release dates.

Not so bad with games now as we only seem to wait a few days after the USA releases which are generally on a Tuesday and ours Fridays.

Besides that Sony always treats Europe as second class citizens even though we are there main bread and butter and without us the Playstation would have died a thousand deaths,add to that are vat in this country and the fact we always get shafted with the price and the playstation 4 will be far dearer here than anywhere else.

Personally i think if you release a product be it a new iphone ,console ,whatever it should be a world wide release at the same time.........But thats t2d way of thinking.

I don't think you're alone there mate.

Still, with three kids it might be easier on my bank balance to buy in March. That said, I still think it might well be out for Xmas. I doubt they want to lose what may be a substantial number of UK sales.

I think the only reason they would release Xmas 2013 would be if Microsoft forced there hand and released there new console sometime this year.

Saying that the news was reported by Edge Magazine claiming that they had spoken with a Dev high up on Sony list,he told them the Playstation 4 will hit US and Japan end of the year and March 2014 for Europe.

Personally i just hope its speculation and its nothing but hear say.........We will know something come 20th Feb though.

Just really gets my back up if Sony again choose for Europe to wait 6 months after the planed Sep Speculation usa and japan release dates.
