BF3 End game

[link to this post]

From the game that keeps on giving smile

New maps are really good, only played them once each so far but they seem the best yet. Railway was the best last night.
CTF is good fun
And the best bit is the dirt bikes, they are fast and can go anywhere. If someone jumps on the back they can look and fire forward.
L3 pops a wheelie laugh

I had forgotten it was coming out so finding it last night was a nice surprise smile

All be History once the mighty Playstation 4 arrives and Battlefield on consoles of today will be well and truly forgotten .wink

Saying that Swanny, its nice that a game released a year ago still holds your attention and i would say only Gears 3 Horde is the only game i keep coming back for after about the same time.

Lets face it most games are just a short 2 week fix and get traded and forgotten really quick,no that was a lie i still adore Far Cry 3 and have still to play the multiplayer.

It's great that dice haven't just given up on the game and are releasing new maps and toys. I know you have to pay for the maps but at least they are real not like the rehashed stuff put out on the MW games.

I'm in no rush for the PS4

I am wink I wish i could forward time until the release as its about time we had some new next generation toys to play with.

Like a kid in a sweet shop when something new on the gaming scene gets released.......Except the Nintendo Wii U that is which in my opinion is a Epic fail as Far as Nintendo are concerned and a distant memory as soon as Microsoft and Sony release there consoles.

I would even go as far as saying that Nintendo will revisit there strategy and release something on par with what both Microsoft and Sony are doing.

Even now i recon Nintendo are back at the drawing board thinking of a new console because the Nintendo Wii U has failed to take of and is living of the same reputation as the Nintendo Wii before it that has had its day, admittedly a good one at the time but motion gaming is not where its at for a hardcore gamer.

Same as if Microsoft when they hold there event rave on about there new console and Kinect 2.0........Not interested in this or anything multimedia and deals with Sky or whatever.

Why would i want to watch Sky on a xbox in the first place when i most of us have a Sky hd box there under the television, same for Love Film ,Netflix and all the rest of the stuff,to me a complete waste of time and Microsoft need to focus on what they did well on originally .......Games and not all this Media content.

I blame Sony for following Microsoft's lead. But it started with COD on the Xbox, so I still blame Microsoft......

I personally can't see how platform specific timed DLC (or whatever you want to call it) makes somebody buy one platform over another, it's just commercial brinkmanship. It doesn't promote avid gaming, whatever your chosen platform. frown

Well if you have both consoles mate and you love a particular game like Cod Originally before it became what it is then its a no brainer to choose the console that has the downloadable content first for that particular game.

Not only did Microsoft have all the Cod map packs first they also had the better version of the game with the Playstation nearly always getting the short straw because of its cell processor and the fact most did not know how to get the best out of the machine.

Now Sony has wised up with the new specs for the upcoming Playstation 4 and this will not happen in the future as its a lot more user friendly and Microsoft i don't think will beat it.

I actually think this time around there will be no real reason to own both consoles after seeing Sonys presentation and the fact that rumours abound Microsoft will not be able to match it and the fact that Microsoft have sort of gone of track and lost the plot regarding new games and exclusives new ips and concentrated on media stuff .

Be interesting to see what they come up with in April...

I'm not decided yet mate to be honest. As funds are always tight this end, I'm thinking about what the cost of the PS4 might be and will probably now only buy one game before the summer. I'm sure I would have really enjoyed Tomb Raider, but with only one purchase I think it is going to have to be BioShock Infinite. And considering that may mean The Last of Us being put on the back burner for a while, you can see how intrigued I am by Infinite. I don't think I've ever played a game that had such a profound story, so I'm intrigued by where it will go next.

I've downloaded Bioshock 2 free of charge from Playstation Plus but haven't had the chance to play it yet and to be honest I probably won't. One version of Infinite comes with the original Bioshock as DLC so I'm pretty confident not playing the sequel isn't a big issue.

As Swanny says, Bioshock 2 is not as good as the first. In my view (and old man Time's), it was a poor sequel, especially storywise. The first was a masterpiece in comparison.

So, my own expectation for BioInfinite, asides from it looking great visually, are not high regarding story but what a setting, eh? Yeah. The original was original and a very hard act to follow. I totally doubt it will be matched that way at all. Still could be a great game, just not in the same vein as Bio1.

CTF mode - hmmm. Its okay, but that's about it. Tanks should have been removed as they just hang around the flag. Probably one of the many modes that end up being played only for the assignments and then forgotten about (much like Gun Master and Scavanger)

Air Superiority - Great way of levelling up the jet. Just a shame that DICE makes controlling it so hard.

CTF needs the tanks as its the only safe way to go in and get a flag, bikes while fast offer little protection and could do with being put on the armoured kill maps instead of the quad bikes.

Gun Master and Scavenger are both good as they force people to use different guns, so many people use the same weapons day in day out etc.

Air Superiority will be interesting to see how long it stays popular as tank superiority was not that popular but overall it will be people flying into each other, though funny how some server owners are putting up 64 players when their are only 24 jets for 12v12.
Jet controls are fine, plenty of videos on youtube how to fly though against a decent jet piolt that can dog fight you mostly die.

Tanks could be used like that, but so far everyone just keeps them next to the flag...

Jet controls are awful, plus there are two serious problems with it : The automatic switch to 3rd person version is so irritating. Plus, go high enough and you loose all control of the jet (you cant do anything with it - and it doesn't move).

I don't see many people playing either mode much after a few days - much like Gun Master and Scavenger.

The maps have different high ceilings about 900m/1000/ and 1100 so if your playing the back to karkand maps you will see the F35's go the ceiling as they can hover and kill the russian jet.

The switch to third person view is up to the user on PC, so maybe you have something selected in options prehaps?
