STEAM Weekend Deal

[link to this post]

Tomb Raider is half price this weekend: Steam Tomb Raider (over 18s only I'm afraid)

Gotta be worth a punt. £14.99 is reasonable I'd say. I'm a bit skint right now though so I've allowed myself Mini Motor Racing EVO which looks to be a good laugh at £5.59.

Anyone else interested? Mr Toad? Jaxx?

smile

Alas, for me, those are about as exciting as watching someone watch someone watching paint dry.

I may get Resident Evil 7 (if reviews are good), and Metro 2033 (again, only if reviews are good), and especially if there are demos, but that's about it.

Not interested in Lara's latest outing then, Mr Toad? I'd like to get it but I'm concerned about the dollars at the minute...

You can not compare some rubbish 16 bit game with the tomb raider of today, the new tomb raider is one of the best games i have played in a long time and well worth the investment.

Focus is Action orientated and not to much in tomb exploring, but its a mighty fine game and well worth the money unlike so many others that aint worth a dime.

Reminds me of an old 4 player arcade game back in the late 80s which I forget the name of but was really cool for the time. Truly multiplayer games were a rarity those days...

You are probably thinking of the Amiga/ST top-down game (not Skidmarks or SuperSprint), unfortunately I forget it's name. It had weapons though.

The arcade game I was thinking of did look like that but I'm not sure if it was the same thing, it didn't have all the other non-racing stuff added I don't think. It was a long long time ago but it's definitely a good contender for what Mr Toad was thinking I imagine.

Ah yeah, arcade game. Thought I'd mention Super Cars II as it was a similar top down miniature car driving game, albeit with big missiles. wink

No, that came much later but was a cracker of a game. Mates had that on the original Playstation. My (then 8 y/o) sister had Micro Maniacs and used to kick my ass whenever I was down for a visit. Fond memories. crazy

Yeah, they were big missiles for sure. I haven't even gotten round to playing my latest acquisition yet. It looks good though and you can edit tracks so I thought that might be a nice thing to get into. Still tempted to check out the Tomb Raider deal... yargh. Temptation!

I'd say the latest Tomb Raider is good, but not great. Certainly worth playing. 7.5/10.

Well, I caved in and bought TR. Naughty me. tongue

Yeah, I'd have preferred Bioshock Infinite but that's double the price so that's gonna have to wait. I can hear T2D muttering right about now, "Tight fecker. Calls himself a gamer? He hasn't even got a console!"

Ah thanks for letting me know but I already bought Tomb Raider when it first came out. I really enjoyed it, although my only dismay was that the tombs were a bit easy. Apart from that though I thought it was a fantastic game with a good story laugh
