Its difficult to put into words what a class act this game is having spent 6 hours playing it,most games cut scenes are skipped as i don't really care, but this beautifully made game you actually care about the characters and you want to watch and listen to everything that is seen which is throughly provoking and so interesting its a complete masterclass in what it takes to draw the gamer into such a unique Experience like no other game i have ever played in a long long time.
Graphically its superb with stunning environments and a story that keeps you gripped, set pieces will amaze and have you open mouthed looking at what you just witnessed.
The interaction between Joel and Ellie and the script is just so dam good it's rarely seen in a Video game that we play nowadays, voice acting is like a Hollywood AAA movie and whoever wrote the story wants a gigantic pat on the back along with all the guys that made this one in a lifetime game which quite frankly is my game equlivent to One of my favourite films of all time been The Green Mile.
Polygon the so called Gaming site gave it a score of 7.5 which was the lowest score a Gaming site has given this game,i say to that particular person........You know nothing about games and should retract this abysmal score.i think this game has in the region of 70 plus perfect scores and on Metacritic has a rank of 96% been one of the greatest games of this generation.
You owe it to yourself to play this game if you love a beautifully told story and depth like no other with breathtaking scenery and Gameplay that is superb.
Im basically struggling to think of the words to describe this Gem,what i will say is Naughty Dog we knew you were top developers with your Uncharted Games but not only have you topped that Franchise you have blown it away and created pure perfection of the highest order and I'm only half way through.
I was gripped from the moment i loaded the game and the more i see the more gripped i become.
Genius.......

It looks amazing. I generally do not buy full priced games and PS+ has supplied me with way more games than I have time to play but I am very tempted to get this.
Don't get tempted just take the plunge and I will personally guarantee you will love this roller coaster ride of a game.

That's my plan

Probably what I will end up doing also as games drop in price so fast.

Ankle weights are finally in bed, time for some serious TLOU action.
Cheese and onion pastie....check
Salt and vinegar chipsticks....check
Coca Cola (symbol of free west)...check
Lion Bar 3 pack....check
Right, lets have it.....

Only [censored] games like Alien Colonial marines drop in price quickly, there is no need to drop the price of a game when it has 110 perfect scores on Metacritic ,take the Cod Franchise how much does that drop in price, hardly ever as its still a full priced game 8 months later.
The only reason to drop game prices is poor reviews and poor game sales and The Last Of Us has neither and it's the best game of the Playstation 3 generation
You are right about COD but thats probably because it is primarily a multiplayer game. Most games do drop in price quickly, even very good ones.
FC3 is now £18 and TR is £20 in sainsburys
The last of us is £40 at the mo and will be down soon
Don't get tempted just take the plunge and I will personally guarantee you will love this roller coaster ride of a game. On the Playstation Store, The Last of Us is at £39-99 yet all the third party stuff is higher. Remember me is at £47-99.

I am absolutely loving this game at the moment and I can't get enough time with it. I usually get bored as games progress. I haven't finished Bioshock Infinite and I never bothered getting off of the second island in FarCry3.
The only game I can remember being so hooked on was Uncharted 2 (and to a slightly lesser extent UC3) and that was because the story and characters kept you strapped firmly into it. With its darker, grittier feel and genuinely "on edge" atmosphere, this story grabs you by the collar, throws you in and slams the door behind you. There is no easy way out, it makes you work at it, but at the same time manages to keep you wanting to push further on. Stealth is really not my bag, but this game pulls off stealth without any of the sterility that normally starts to breed frustration, half way through games like Splinter Cell.
No spoilers Timey, because I know you are much further in than I am, but I've just had a run in with a rope and a refrigerator and it has to be the best set piece I've played this generation. Hard, but not impossible and brilliantly well staged. For anybody who appreciated the Uncharted series, this is an absolute must buy game, end of.

Actually mate i was more than likely 2 hours past that scene but last night because i thought what i played was so dam good and deserves replay and the fact i lost my original game save that put me back at least 2 hours i decided to start over from the beginning.
So now i am behind you but i will soon be on your tail, check out the multiplayer its awesome stuff and a great addiction and personally i think its better than Uncharted ,not that i played that for more than 30 minutes.
Saw you on quite late last night,i carried on till about 2am from around 10pm.

The stealthy bit makes me want to wait for the price drop.
I'm more your run and gun type of chap. When things get tricky I like to just shoot everything in sight

So do i but if you do that in this game then you are going to die a lot, especially against the Clickers ?

The stealthy bit makes me want to wait for the price drop.
I'm more your run and gun type of chap. When things get tricky I like to just shoot everything in sight So am I. I have never bought a game that says stealth on it since playing Splinter Cell and wanting to launch the TV into the garden.
But this isn't really a stealth game by design, it just fits nicely into the "fear" scenario. You could run/gun/hack and slash, but you'd have to stick to easy and you wouldn't soak up any of the tension in the story, which is sort of the point. As Timey says, on normal difficulty it's challenging unless you really think about what you are doing, and I think that heightens the tension. Whilst trying to be alert to your surroundings, sometimes you get caught out. But that's what makes it so immersive.
It looks awesome at times Swanny.

"The Last of Us is a terrific achievement that transcends not only the apocalyptic gaming tropes, but also the genre as a whole, offering more humanity here than many films and books which attempt to tackle the same subject. Its a master class in storytelling, its a master class in visuals, and its a master class in what it means to be a human being. Buy this game, and youll love it."
http://sabotagetimes.com/video-games/the-last-of-us-...
"In the end, when I tell you that The Last of Us is not only the best, most complete, game of this generation, but also one of the best games that Ive ever had the fortune to play, I hope youll realise how impossibly good The Last of Us is."

"The Last Of Us is truly a masterpiece and rates as one of the best games I have played regardless of platform."
"It is a painful story and can often leave you in tears, but the emotional connection to the characters is something you really will not want to miss."
"It highlights just how powerful the gaming medium can be, if placed in the right hands."
"Naughty Dog have showcased themselves as the finest game developer on the planet and if they can keep matching this quality with future titles then the sky is the limit."

Ok I'll give you £25 for your copy when you've finished with it

By the time I finish it, it really will have dropped to 25 quid!

By the time you finish it the Playstation 5 will be out and the Xbox 2......
How long is SP then?
The IGN review I watched reckoned it was 18 hours.
That's not too bad, so if I take my time and stretch it out to somewhere near 25 then that's £1 an hour
Been at it about 10 hours so far and its hard to find kind enough or Big enough words to describe this masterpiece.it trounces all over uncharted and that was a class act already.
The initial 20 minutes sets the tone for a story and set pieces that grip you like no other game i have played for many many years,in fact i can not remember the last time i enjoyed a game like this one and if you don't own a Playstation 3 then trade in your xbox 360 go get one and play a game most developers don't even come close to in terms of Graphics,Gameplay, story, music and amazing voice overs which is on par with a hollywood Blockbuster.
Even the multiplayer is Brilliant having spent a hour or two on it the other night, but that doesn't matter whats matters here is you have a 15 hour roller coaster single player experience that i doubt you have ever played in most of your gaming years.

PS3 arrived yesterday. Just waiting for the game to arrive. Also - will never trade in my gears of war 360 I use it every day. No reason you can't own both.

That was the only reason i kept my 360 originally for the gears 3 horde mode, but Microsoft completely [censored] me of with there drm restrictions and everything about xbox one that has very little to do with gaming, sort of treated like a afterthought if I'm quite honest.
So thats why i traded my 360,it was not easy having spent many hundreds on xbox live arcade and i had many games, but Microsoft conference made that decision for me and i knew where i stood with Microsoft for future gaming pleasures.
Every time they open there mouth they dig a deeper hole for themselves and all i can see for the Xbox One is total failure and completely blown away by the Playstation 4.
And i am not some Sony Fanboy as i have been singing the praises of the 360 on here for many years .

Microsoft's decisions regarding the xbox one have no bearing on how much I use or like my 360 - I have a limited edition Gears console that I use a few times a week to play Gears 1. Seems like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face with regards getting rid of your 360. Both consoles are cheap now so no real reason not to have both.

Im just not supporting a Organisation that does not support me.......Period........Simples.
I have supported Microsoft on countless occasions of the last 7 years far more than on my Playstation 3,every port looked better on a 360 and most my games Multi platform were bought for the 360.
and if Sony choose to do the same then the same would go for them.,besides there is little to nothing coming for the 360 this year and I'm moving on to next generation.

So basically Swanny if your Fat you don't get a girlfriend as suggested by yourself,so that Logic must apply to millions upon millions of people and you know that this is just not true.
Your condemning someone for how they look and thats not very clever, besides he has something you need to acquire.........A Sense Of Humour

I'm not condemning him on how he looks. I feel sorry for him, he obviously doesn't have much of a life and from the little I've seen of him he doesn't seem to have what I would call a balanced personality. He may well be happy but I wouldn't want a life like his
Anyway I never said he doesn't have a girlfriend because he's fat. Of course fat people have partners but does he look like the sort of bloke that leaves his house and goes out on the pull? And what would he talk to the apple of his eye about?
"Hey babe what do you think of the accelerated processing unit inside the PS4 ? Fancy coming back to mind to look at my FryCry3 posters?"
Why are you defending him, Is he your alter ego??

Best game I have ever played without doubt, epic in every sense and my game of this generation.
Have now started the multiplayer and I'm completely useless at it,on Rank zero when most are nearly in double figures and I doubt very much that they have even bothered with the amazing single player experience.
Not sure how or when you rank up but I need some serious practice as I really think its a superb online experience even though I'm totally rubbish
Don't own a playstation then go get one just to experience gaming at its greatest ....Masterpiece .
Naughty dog you are the shinning light in a list of Sony owned developers and what you going to come up in a few years with the Playstation 4 will obviously blow us all away once again.
I thought Red Dead Redemption was a brilliant game but this is even in another league...congratulations Naughty Dog you have created a classic ,beautifully presented game like no other and boy do I look forward to future offerings.....

Oh go on then I'll give you £20 for your copy

Would never ever consider trading it or selling this game because they don't come along to often Swanny
Tell a lie, time to trade this in is when the Playstation 4 has established itself and not before, yes it really is that good and i look forward to playing it over again on the Plus mode.

Traded the wii u in yesterday and got myself another ps3 and the last of us and I must say for once T2D you haven't let me down!! This truly is a quality game, I'll divulge more once I've given it some quality time and get properly into it!!
It just seems to get and better the further you go. Visually this game will be remembered as a superlative example of what the PS3 was capable of and from a development perspective, for me this it's swan song.
The environments are amazingly detailed and I have never spent so much time exploring and looting every nook and cranny of a games levels. I think I will be a bit longer than 16 hours on this.
Just to add, I keep struggling to imagine how this game would have looked on the PS4. If a new Uncharted is to arrive, I cannot wait to see the visuals.
You mean to say T2D has let you down before . Unbelievable as thats truly not possibly .

Wii U and not the Nintendo Wii ?,my that was quick..That Console never interested me which is a shame as i used to adore Nintendo with a Passion and when they make first party games then its normally gaming at its best.
They needed a Zelda or a Metroid but sadly like many console releases' before it sadly lacked any decent software to talk about.
Took me a minute until i noticed you said Wii U ,what did you get for it as i know Blockbusters are offering only £20 for the older Nintendo Wii.

£150 for the 32gb premium pack, was cheesed off though as they were giving £190 earlier in the week!!!

I think I will cave in a buy this game, so many great reviews I don't think I can resist it. Will order it next week though as no time this weekend.

The Last of Us is now £34.99 on Amazon.
And worth every dam penny.........This Game could have been £70 and i would buy it,i even bought the season pass with in 10 minutes of playing the game.
So thats close on £60 even now........Class Game and the best game on the Playstation 3 without doubt.

£10 less and I'll get it
Should be getting darker by then, hopefully it gets to £25 before BF4 otherwise it'll have to wait

So I got The Last Of Us yesterday, after all of the hype I think I expected something a little more! It's a really good game, but not one of the best I have played... not yet anyway! I am about 4 hours into it so maybe it's going to really open up soon. The story seems really good, I don't know why you would skip the cutscenes T2D that seems like it could be detrimental to getting the feel of the whole story? I don't think you can afford to skip cutscenes in story heavy games these days as it's like watching a movie.
The gameplay elements are good, I like the enhanced hearing, the cover system, the stealth but nothing seems particularly new. I hope something comes along soon that I think wow I haven't seen anything like that in a game before!
4 hours in is only just getting started. I though the story and character interaction only really got going about 1/2 way in.
That's good then, I thought surely there must be more to it than this after all the reviews! When I saved the game it said I had done 31% which I was surprised by as well as didn't feel like I had done a lot. Look forward to playing it more over the weekend and seeing how it develops

The new Smurfs game is out maybe that will be more to your liking with unexpected Gameplay you never experienced before.
if you come back on here and say in a week or so you thought the Last of Us was good but you expected more and have played better games this generation then Myself and Mrnelster will have you commited to the Dr Spook mental institution
And i want you to list the better games.........Because i will not have laughed so loud for a long time once i read them.

There's a waiting list and you high a higher priority Timey old boy.
Jaxx will have to be careful wot he says about The Last of Us then, he's committing some serious blasphemy by not taking leave of his senses and praising it without question.
We of the Church of Gameology should send the squirrel police round.

Hiya me matey its dam hot aint it,had a wicked Thunderstorm Tuesday morning but now its back to that hot humid weather.
To hot for playing games Spooky and besides there is nothing out and im thinking my next purchase will be GTA5 and then the Big One........Whoopee Do
Hope you saving them Pennies Spook and joining me and mrnelster in the Playstation 4 club.
Yeah Jaxx looks like he has been suffering from sun stroke, how [censored] dare he say The Last Of Us is all right but he expected more.............So did Oliver Twist and look what happened to Him
Lol you are a bit odd ain't you mate I think I will leave you to play the Smurf game by yourself dude
I'm just saying I am 31% through and expected more, I have not seen anything innovative in the game as of yet. Like I say I am enjoying it and the story is good, I just thought I would be absolutely blown away as it's got like 95% plus reviews everywhere else. Personally I got more enjoyment from Red Dead and Assassins Creed than I have out of this so far, but I still have 69% of the game to go so I am hoping it gets better
It is a tense game and if there are more than 3 zombies then you know you are in for a tough ride and going to have to use some serious stealth to get by... I do like that part of it!
Odd is a understatement ,i cannot really ask you about the game as I would spoil it for you and I wouldn't like to do that to one of my best friends on the think broadband forums
Red dead redemption was also brilliant I agree, but 2 completly different games,I'm actually going to say that The Last Of Us is the best game to be released on the playstation 3 and I would go as far as saying that even when the playstation 4 ships it will be a few years until its beaten.
How the hell you are playing games in this glorious, hot, sticky, humid weather is anyone's guess, are you sitting in a ice box or something.
Not touched a game for 3 weeks and I'm on my 2nd play through of the last of us...besides there is very little out until GTA5 and that's on a playstation 3 of which I will be trading in a few months in preparation.
Looking forward to Watchdogs and the new Killzone though and a few others.
Yup, hot and sweaty like a pair of old trainers. Saw the lightning too though it was far away it seemed. The storm went on for hours and it was past 4am by the time I could sleep as it was so muggy.
Reckon I will get a PS4 at some point, when I'm convinced it'll be a big enough step up from my old PC. I don't play that many games and have lost a lot of enthusiasm through too much disappointment with purchases made this year. We'll see though, it may be time to abandon my traditional gaming genres and go for a console and get back into my motorsport games and maybe a little footy and ice hockey would be nice.
Right, well. I'm off. Whatchoo been up to lately then matey? Shopping with the missus? Beer and barbies out in the garden? You packed them cigarettes in yet?
Narr not packed them up just yet,Girlfriend has taken my Mom to Spain so i got 2 weeks on me todd and plenty of kitchen rolls to hand.
Don't Drink that often mate as i always feel worse for wear afterwards and have come to the conclusion why bother in the first place.
I do have some drinks occasionally so don't think i don't but its not very often and prefer a cup of Coffee if I'm honest.
Playstation at some point........Is that a new Swear Word............If you dont get one when they ship then you will be an outcast in our clan and me and mrnelster will no longer clean out the cave and Bat Droppings you produce.
I wanna see what games come out and what the graphics are like before I buy a new console but there's good reason for choosing to get one this time round I reckon as I am no longer all that inerested in upgrading my PC. I think consoles really killed PC gaming last generation so if you can't beat 'em join 'em I say.
Is it just me or is it hot tonight?
Its Humid most nights, its actually raining here this morning and its some light relief.
Haha I am a hardcore gamer mate, wind, rain or shine I will be there on my Xbox / PC
My living room goes straight into my back garden so I have to have both the patio doors open and all the windows open in the living room..... and still sit there in just my shorts! It's not too bad now though, seems to be cooling down the last couple of days.
The Last Of Us is on the Playstation 3 so i am guessing that you are using your friends,so what is it for you then come this winter 2013.........Xbox One with there 180 about turn after the internet uproar or the Playstation 4 .
Can Microsoft be trusted ?,and will they revert back to the DRM policy once they have a big user base, apparently you have to download a patch to make the Xbox One user friendly on day one so whats stopping them doing the reverse 12 months later.
Playstation 4 is all i need and all I'm getting...

Yea I am just getting the PS4, I don't trust Microsoft. It's all well and good saying they have got rid of these features, but I think they will be back again before long. After all what can you do once you have the console? Jack all!
To be honest though since getting the PC I have been a little spoilt on the graphics front, Tomb Raider looked absolutely AMAZING on my PC which is why I think I was a little underwhelmed by the Last of Us. It looks good, but not as nice as Tomb Raider looked! Hopefully the PS4 will give it a big boost
Until the original Xbox One reveal i would have said the same but Microsoft can kiss my Butt. u-turn or not I'm not falling for it.
Doesn't bother me. I go where the games are. Both PS4 and XB1 have games I want to play. So I buy both. I don't see the point in getting all self righteous about it.
Please yourself but I'm not supporting Microsoft, besides there is little on that unit that even warrants a purchase.
And what games are on Xbox One that are so exciting, respawn exclusive game looks average at best and remedy game was basically a cut scene.
Mate I'm not on my own in ditching Microsoft, quite a few million will have followed suite, besides it looks like a ugly VCR from the early 80s and it wants to be everything besides a gaming machine.

i really want to get a ps3 now!!!

I'm just saying I am 31% through and expected more, I have not seen anything innovative in the game as of yet... Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but it doesn't make it right. Like I say I am enjoying it and the story is good, I just thought I would be absolutely blown away as it's got like 95% plus reviews everywhere else. Could it be that the "everywhere else" is imagining it or is it you that is missing something Jaxx?
If innovation is your interpretation of quality then you are fundamentally misjudging to begin with. Everything it does, it does beautifully. If you engage the game as the developer hopes you will, there are no conundrums as to what it does or doesn't achieve. I loved Red Dead, but The Last Of Us is on another level. You drive Red Dead. The Last Of Us is meant to drive you.
But you have to want to let it.

Well put Bro ,Thought Spook had held you captive or something Been down in Cornwall for me hols and am now officially a cider drinker.
Wurzel Gummidge has nothing on this lot....ooh ahhhh!
Yeah Cider,Tend to like the Magners Pear Cider over plenty of ice myself, saying that Thatchers in the pubs is quite nice at about £3.50 a pint
Actually the range of flavours in the supermarkets your spoilt for choice, and when you see how much Booze costs there and the price in the pubs its no wonder many people stay at home to drink.
Not really a drinker myself and only on the odd function do i let me hair down occasionally, prefer my cocoa and bed at 7.30
You fell on your feet with the weather then which according to reports is about to change with weather warnings issues throughout the uk for torrential rain until the end of the month on and of.
About 3 months time matey we will be going next generation........Bring it on
That's not proper cider
You want a drop of Natch
Never heard of it
Thought you might have said something like you prefer a drop of Battlefield Cider
You do realise you have not mentioned that name for a few days
Haven't played it for a couple of months or so. It's summer I'm not gaming
I'm a big fan of Magners Pear Cider too. Never really liked the apple stuff other than Magners, same with the pear.
Quantum Break that's enough for me.
Me neither, just dont really feel in the mood for gaming on these hot days and long nights, nothing beats when its dark at 4.30pm and freezing cold outside.
And this winter will be even better with us console gamers getting more power than most PC gamers.......I said Most

That was why I posted on here saying "What am I missing guys" I tried to give a bit of an idea as to what I had done and why I expected more but no one had actually put together a decent response to me until this one you wrote. I didn't want people to jump on me with pitchforks because I disagree with what you say, I was hoping that someone could help me see something I may be missing or explain what they enjoyed about the game, it is a forum after all.
I have played it more over the weekend I am about 50% through now and I am enjoying it more, it's better now I am outside exploring the city rather than stuck in the underground. The environment seems a lot better and I have collected a couple of more weapons that are making it a bit more interesting
Blockbusters will give you £25 trade in so that Smurf game looks very tempting and i doubt you will be missing something with this game,as there was nothing to miss in the first place.
Sorry could not resist..........Payback time.
Which will be ported over to the Playstation 4 once the developers see that the playstation is out selling the xbox one 3/1.........
I doubt it - Microsoft paid for its development and its published by Microsoft Studios. Its about as likely as The Last of Us coming to 360. You really seem to struggle with people that have different points of view to yourself, seemingly needing to belittle their opinion. XB1 will do just fine as will the PS4.

Well said Huw!

You have an opinion and so do i .....So watch this space and we will see what outsells the other.
Only a fool and his money will buy into the Xbox One and there about turn and what they proposed to do in the first place, and its people like you that support these Greedy Corporations and in the long term Gamers are the ones who will suffer.
Don't get me wrong mate, before the Microsoft reveal i was a avid Xbox 360 supporter and bought all my stuff on that system and hardly anything on the playstation 3.
Even Mouth piece Jaxx has seen the light and has stated that he will only buy a Playstation 4.

Im not belittling your opinion and you are free to say and buy what you like, but if you really are a true gamer and care what happens to future Gaming development then for now i would avoid the xbox one and hurt Microsoft financially for there terrible vision of the future of gaming and there proposed propostious ideas that has bit them on there backsides because of the backlash from the internet and the poor pre/order sales compared to the Playstation 4.
Yes they are now gaining ground because they have gone back to the no DRM and you can trade in games and stuff, but just imagine the impact this would have had if they had gone through with it and Sony followed suit.
Thousands of people would have lost there jobs and there would be no real need for high street gaming sites or online, because the next step would have been digitally downloaded games only.
Lol Mouth Peice Jaxx I like it, gonna start calling you "Grumpy Timey" or "Not got Time to complete a game"
Completed many Jaxx but they have to be really good and interesting like The Last of us and Red Dead Redemption GTA4 and many more.
As you know many games get released only not to live up to mine or many other peoples high expectations, also completed the brilliant Far Cry 3 and many on here have not.
I could go on and on how many i have completed but there are many more that i haven't because i just got bored with them or something better and more interesting came along.
But in the future if we are all forced to buy our games in a digital form then i will be far more wiser and careful with the money i spend and i doubt pre/orders will even exist .
For now i await probably the last game i will buy for the playstation 3 ....GTA5 ..Then i look forward to next generation and Killzone game and Watchdogs that really has be foaming at the mouth.
Until then i will continue to play through the last of us over and over again because it just so dam cool and games like this come along very rarely indeed.

Hey that has a ring to it and i like that name....

Just bought myself a copy of TLOU.. looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about
No Fuss mate just pure Class
Can't wait
So I am now 7 hours and 50 mins in (43% complete) and can say that this game definitely deserves all the hype. Everything about it is brilliant
Glad you enjoying it mate and you know a class product when you see one.
When the weather gets a little bit cooler i will return to gaming but for now its to dam hot for me.
I'm still waiting for the price to drop
What a surprise
Yeah, even though I am only about half way through I reckon it will be one of my favourite games and will definitely give it another play through.
Swanny... I got a copy for £25 off ebay, mint condition with unused network pass

Uh oh spaghettioes !!
He's called you on it Lieutenant.....What's it gonna be?
Needs to be nearer £4.99 for that tight Git
Sure him and Toady are brothers
"That's The Last of Us" says Swanny as he lays the pound notes out on the counter.
The Last Of Us [Battlefield Edition]
I'm waiting for it to hit £25
Think how lucky I am that I still have such a game to play for the first time
Yeah why you playing that [which is brilliant] we be playing next generation and you will be stuck in a time warp so we will then have to say.....Swanny the Retro Gamer
I'll be playing GTA V and BF4 on my PS3 too
Yeah why you playing that [which is brilliant] we be playing next generation and you will be stuck in a time warp so we will then have to say.....Swanny the Retro Gamer
Looks like I'll have finished TLOU long before you get your hands on the PS4
Yep........Looks like the temptation to buy other games on the Playstation 3 will be there given the release of the Playstation 4.
Can i wait a month to play Battlefield 4 or what ?
Going to have a ball with GTA5 though which will be more than enough to keep me occupied for a month or two.

The Last Of Us: Joel Edition
https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Last-Us-Joel-Edition/dp...
Go on Timey. It's only £105 do you bit and support the gaming industry
Swanny i don't go in for special editions with a plastic toy,a booklets and a Dvd about the game, the only time i ever bought into something like that was a previous COD game with all the future downloadable content that worked out cheaper over the year.
but after giving up with that game within a month or two i wont be doing that in the future unless i really love the online part of the game.
And you better steer well clear of any future generation consoles as the software for them is going to cost in the region of £50 and you grumble about £30.
What happened in the days of the Nintendo 64 when most games cost £59.99,what did you do then ?,so games have got cheaper over the years and not dearer .
I had a Nintendo 64, bought it especially to play GoldenEye on
I have more than one hobby, games will always reduce in price as they age. Plus I'm long enough in the tooth to wait a while, the young'uns can rush out to buy the latest titles
They said that the RRP will be the same as this gen (for first party titles at least). BF4 is priced at £42 on Amazon which is not far off the normal £39.99 for newly released games.
Young is something I'm not
Young is something I'm not
Yea but you don't have a life beyond gaming
Oh but I do mate only I don't talk about it like you do mate, you have more than likely spent more time on one game in 18 months than I have playing all of them.
Games are my passion and have been for the past 30 years, only difference is I'm not a penny pincher always looking for cheap deals,a game comes out that has rave reviews or interests me i buy it and don't wait for price drops......
How long did you guys take to play through this game? I am 56% complete and have a time of 11 hours 40 mins so far. Only playing on normal difficulty as well lol
About 18 hours I think, can not remember but I am on my second play through but the hot weather completly put me of gaming.
GTA5 next and thats me finished until End November.....no prizes for guessing why ?
I think I did just over18 hours too, but I'm not too anal on the collectibles and stuff. I don't rush through though.
I reckon you're on target for 18 and a bit hours still. Things certainly draw in at the end.
Games are my passion and have been for the past 30 years
Only the last 30 years? Even I can say that and I'm younger than you. Didn't you have an Atari then? My first gaming machine was a ZX Spectrum 48k.

Just a n00b then Timey I reckon I'm getting on for 40 years gaming
Mine was Pong in the local pub, an Atari console that played tennis and a motorbike jump game, my first gaming computer was a ZX81 my favourite game on that was called Maxogs
30 years was a conservative time zone, actually Swanny in 1970 there was no such games even out
1972 the cabinet version of pong came out,and was released for the home market in 1975,so that's 38 years by my reckoning ,and judging by your mean tight fitness I doubt even back then you would have paid the price for even a Atari,Amiga or Spectrum 128 k unless they where in a sale or somebody else bought it you

Yeah, my mum and dad got me my Speccy (on condition I let my younger brother play). My uncle had Pong on some weird console thing and I think that may have been my first glimpse of home video gaming. My Spectrum knackered our telly too actually (burned a permanent white line into it); I think that was quite common back in the day but it was worth the sacrifice (for me anyway). Now I'm all grown up (sort of), I've since bought me mam and dad a new telly. They still don't game tho, the squares.
They had a pong machine in the pub my dad used to take me too
I did have things when I was a kid
I was working in 1980

My dad always moaned about me using my console after hearing that could happen
Hehe. My dad was always (and still is) ignorant of tech matters so I feigned ignorance myself when it happened tho I think I had a good idea at the time that the speccy was the cause of the problem. Our telly was an old radio rentals and lasted ages and ages even after the white line incident. I must give me dad credit really for not getting all smeggy about it (which is exactly what I would've done if I had kids and something did that to my telly).
Sometimes it pays to have stupid parents I suppose.
Yeah think you are prob right, 70% through now and at 13 hours so looks like I will be not far off the 18 hour mark unless I have to keep retrying something. Thought I was going to take excessively long to finish the game, not that it would really matter as long as I am enjoying it, which I am of course! First half of the game was great but the second has been even better so far.
Haha our teles always came from radio rentals
I remember the first time we had a colour tele, someone got shot on a film and my mum saw the blood, it went back to radio rentals the next day
Radio Rentals,Visionhire,Granada,Der to name just a few....All with Slots on the back for the 50p pieces for us poor people.
You could celetape string to the 50p and pull it back out again
You guys are all speaking a different language haha. My first console was a Sega Mega Drive..... on a colour TV!
Radio Rentals. Hire Purchase. Even Granada. All terms that belong in another age. The Sega Megadrive was a great console but even that is going to look very antiquated for today's youngsters I guess.
We used to have a 50p leccy meter actually. Before that it was 20p and before that, it was 10p I think. Before that I dunno what it was. Days of full (well, nostalgically full) employment whereby the meter man would come once a quarter and spend half the day counting out all the coins after emptying the meter. If you were lucky, you'd get a couple back I seem to recall...
/grandad spook reaches down to pick up his false teeth after drooling so much they fell out
No mate its me with the false choppers
Yeah i remember them coming and emptying the coin collection slot on the back of the tele and then giving you a fistful of dollars back.

What's that you're saying Timey old boy? I can't hear you, me hearing aid is acting up again...
I never knew you could get coin operated tvs. Ours was an ex-rental prob bought on HP (not the sauce either). My nan had a Granada telly, which lasted ages. Good ol' brown box that it was. That was back in the day you had to give the side of the telly a good hard thump to get a picture (the fonzy touch). If you try that nowadays you'll either cut your hand or the tv will snap. Scientific progress eh?

Yeah Huge Gigantic massive boxes wasn't they matey that needed 3 blokes to lift them and a massive corner space in the living room, funny i remember the test card coming on most channels at midnight, when i say most channels i mean 3 at the time, now we have 300 channels of tripe and i still sit there at night remote in hand trying to find something to watch even though i got the full Sky Package which we had to re mortgage to pay for.
Its funny that when we used to cancel the Film Subscription on Sky a few days later something would be on we wanted to watch, but i doubt we watch one film per month as its constantly rep.eated stuff but we still miss it when we dont have it even though i more than likely spend more time watching terrestrial tv

I am not even that old (knocking on 30..) and remember the coin metre TVs and having to hit them lol
On the subject of TV I hardly watch it these days, mostly watch things on Netflix.

More importantly I notice your name is A State of Trance, do you listen to Armin's podcast? I just bought tickets last night to go and see him at the Warehouse Project in Manchester in October with my girlfriend
Nice. Yes, I am a big Armin fan.. would say he is my favourite DJ. Have seen him twice, sure you will love it
I never watch tele. I cancelled my virgin subscription a couple of years ago. Save myself about £600 a year
I can watch [censored] if I use the iplayer on my PS3 but don't bother
I remember the teles that didn't even have buttons, you had a dial to turn to tune them in
Haha awesome!! I love him too he is brilliant Can't wait, 5 weeks to go!
Forget him Above and Beyond rule and most things on there Anjunabeats label are Trance heaven with my favourite group been Sunny Lax and Solarstone,Sunny lax latest ep Not to late is brilliant and most of there singles are just as good.
With a Sonus system around the house and the fact we subscribe to the premium edition of Spotify I am in trance heaven and can listen to virtually anything that gets released and create Playlists on my IPod to use in the car which play offline.
Spotify is probably the best £9.99 we spend each month and the interface and music choice is amazing.
Oh dear what have I done, yeah I agree he is pretty decent but much prefer the Above And Beyond podcasts and there choice of music in general.
To old for me to go see DJs but I love Dance music especially Trance and the two groups I mentioned.
You 2 are obviously much younger than myself [Jaxx bear that in mind] as my farther used to say ...Don't cheek your olders.
Anyway School holidays finish this week and back to School for the pair of you
At least us three have something in common, our love of Trance Music even though I'm old enough to be your farzer ...Austin Powers.....Goldmember.....

Haha
Yes Above & Beyond are really good, saw them 2 years ago. I really like the Hed Kandi mixes these days also.
Currently subscribe to Music Unlimited which has a great selection also, pretty much everything I have looked for. Sony had a deal last december - 1 years premium membership for £11.99 (usually £9.99 a month)

So you joined Jan 2012,and now you seem to be a regular poster in the gaming forum which by all accounts mate is a breath of fresh air as we need people posting stuff however tedious the posts are it all contributes .
We only have about 6 what I would call regular posters which is far to few for a gaming forum, think we have plenty of readers but very few writers.
Anyway mate I'm liking your contributions so keep it up and don't disappear like Spook and mrnelster do then they return with a bombardment .
I'm a bit partial to Trance and Deep House
Yeah, I'm a big fan. Love listening, especially in the bath,
What are you trying to say?
Well i would never have guessed the link would be some kind of wise crack who would have thought it
You must spend half your evening thinking of ways to reply
forget to mention that you don't actually disappear on your own accord though
Hey it's all coming out now! It's like a little electronic music family haha
House is my main passion, Trance is definitely up there though I love it too. I didn't used to listen to it much but just recently have really got into it, I also pay for the £9.99 for Spotify Premium and I agree it's the best thing I spend my money on!
I was going to watch Above & Beyond last weekend at Creamfields T2D but I watched The Prodigy instead.
Wish this music scene was around when i was in my 20s around the year 1890
Sometimes i hook up my iPod with my Beats headset, put on Spotify and spend hours in the evening just listening to non stop dance music and radio playlists and other stuff and the hours just roll by.
Good man! +1 respect point from Jaxx to you T2D, you should be proud
Electronic music is my life! Love it, love it.

Oh and hey when I try and play my dad some my music or some music that I listen to he is like "What is this stuff? It sounds like Dr Who" hahahahaha, he is only 51!
A Brownie point of Jaxx.....Thats a First actually thats not quite true as i remember about a month back you agreeing with me in one of my many threads.
For the record I'm actually a few years older than your Dad.
Mind you i like the way you said he's only 51........Makes me feel a whole lot better.
Haha yea I did.
Fair play to you, I don't think many older people like electronic music so it's good to see that you have an open mind to it.
With the huge advancement in computing technology over the last 10 years traditional analogue equipment isn't really used as the processing power of a home PC can more than handle multiple synthesizers and equalizers etc.
Like you say it's a shame this wasn't around in your younger days to go out and enjoy it as much, there really is a massive difference when you compare the quality of the music and the specific sounds of someone like Armin & Above and Beyond with The Petshop Boys!!
(sorry for straying so off topic, it's just interesting to hear other people on here are into this)

Don't worry I am not going anywhere though you may come to regret that
Almost finished TLOU (near the hospital) can't wait to see how the story concludes.
Its a brilliant game and once the cooler weather arrives i shall revisit it and play through it again, ive wasted a fair bit of money last fortnight [nothing new there] buying games like Saints Row 4 and Splinter cell blacklist that failed to impress, even that Suda 51 Killer is Dead game is basically DEAD and Boring as hell.
So for me its one more game GTA5 then I'm don't with the Playstation 3 as the Playstation 4 can not come quick enough as getting a tad frustrated in the lack of decent software
Im well looking forward to Watchdogs and Killzone game and a fair few others in the coming 6 months.
Don't worry I am not going anywhere though you may come to regret that
Almost finished TLOU (near the hospital) can't wait to see how the story concludes.
You need to the visit the online mode as its very addictive and they have released a new patch and online multiplayer game mode called interrogation .
Not played it much myself as my reactions don't seem to be up to the job and i constantly getting killed and nearly all of the time finish last on the scoreboard, saying that when your on level one and most are on 25 plus then its not hard to realise why.
There should be more balancing of servers really as its really not fair and you can tell after just a few days of the release of this game that the people with the high ranks have taken straight to the online mode and not even bothered with the awesome single player experience.
I think it steams from many years back from the early 80s where i used to frequent nightclubs about 3 times a week and the days of the new romantic error with groups like Japan,Ultravox,Gary Numan,Kraftwerk,Visage,Duran Duran,Soft Cell,Talk Talk,New Order,Depeche Mode to name just a few.
So i have always liked electronic Music with plenty of beats so liking Dance Music is a steady Progression,in the late eighties i was into Industrial music with groups like Front 242 who i still love today and even likes Underworlds stuff but sadly they are not to good anymore and don't produce classics like pearl Girls and Rez.
Just finished TLOU. The ending did not disappoint, brilliant game definitely deserves the 10/10 reviews and has to be one of my favourite games of any generation. Will give it another play through sometime and also check out the multiplayer.
Final playtime was 20 hours 36 mins.
Did any one else notice this... near the end I saw that one of those opticians sight test things with letters on said 'Run your nearly there dont quit'
Now i didn't notice mate, you obviously took in every bit of the scenery.
Yes I did try to take in as much of the beautiful world Naughty Dog created as I could. Just imagine what they will be able to do on PS4
I know I'm dribbling with anticipation but i fear we will be waiting a good 18 months 2 years to see it.
