...Blood Dragon is a very funny parody of Terminator/Cyborg/Universal Soldier type films mixed with 80's video game style cut scenes and colour stylings from 3D games from the Amiga et al.
Like the official Far Cry 3, you can go animal hunting (although in this game hunted animals include dinosaurs).
At one a NPC complains that you are repeating the same pun too often, at which point you just rephase it.
After you use all health packs, you regain health by performing various hand exercises...
Overall, its a rather good game, Originally I had trouble getting it to save anything, but Administrator mode seems to have solved that.
If you have Far Cry 3, then you dont need this, and vice versa - it certainly saved me money!

Prudent saving is prudent spending.
Completed the game now - completed all missions, collected all items (with the exception of 1 VHS tape) and killed all required animals.
Was a pretty good game - you get to ride a battle dinosaur at the end too!

The proper game is way better and this is just some cheap arcade rip of and i deleted this game within an hour or so and found it tedious.
Far Cry 3 on the other hand was one of the best games of 2013.

The last of Us........Takes the best game of the year.
GTA fans will beg to differ on 17th September.
Bioshock Infinite was another strong contender followed by Far Cry 3,the rest of 2013 for me anyway has been a total disaster with not many games even worthy of a mention

The last of Us........Takes the best game of the year. Absolutely.
Bioshock Infinite was another strong contender... As much as this was a very good game, I didn't finish it and I can't find the enthusiasm to go back to it. Not sure why though really. Perhaps it just felt a little elongated story wise, not monotonous, but didn't move on quickly enough from around the half way point or so.
followed by Far Cry 3 The PS3 version was graphically challenging at times, but still you wanted to just get lost in that island. This came a very, very close second for me.

Blood Dragon is pretty good - just need to kill the last few dragons and then I will have completed all achievements... First time ever... Yey!
Got the last dragon!

So... did you ever get round to playing the original Bioshock then mrnelster? I just wondered what you thought of it and whether Bioshock Infinite was anywhere near as good (gameplay wise and story).

So... did you ever get round to playing the original Bioshock then mrnelster? I just wondered what you thought of it and whether Bioshock Infinite was anywhere near as good (gameplay wise and story). I did, on yours and Timey's insistence and thought it was brilliant. The story was unique and the gameplay innovative; deciding to save or harvest the little sisters added an extra emotional dimension to the mechanic of levelling up your abilities.
The only criticism I would have of the original after such a great story was the abrupt ending. It didn't feel like it rose to a crescendo. Perhaps that is why I drifted away from Infinite two thirds of the way through, the pacing feeling slightly flat? I don't know, but the original was easily the best in my opinion.
In contrast, The Last of Us built up to an excellent crescendo, perhaps because you knew exactly were you were heading for so long. The pacing left you in perfect anticipation on arrival at you destination. I won't comment on what I actually feel about the final scenes, because guys here are still playing through, but TLOU and the original Bioshock are in the same league as far as storytelling is concerned. The characters in TLOU are easier to relate to however which is why I think the story is easier to stay in tune with.
I have a free digital copy of Bioshock 2 on my PS3 waiting for a bit of spare time. I know everyone thinks it is the duck of the series, but I would like to muck about in a Big Brother for a bit.

What did you think of the mad doctor and his room??

|

Hard.....and it reminded me of Mr Jolly lived next door, except you didn't have to take out Nicholas Parsons.
|
|
|

I remember Mr Jolly... Yeah, Bioshock 2 was pretty dull compared to 1. When Infinite's cheap on Steam or somesuch I'll give it a go. TLOU will likely never be played (sob).

I think Infinite looks fantastic on PC, assuming you have a reasonable spec SPOOK. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it and I loved the vigours The Murder of Crows vigour is a brilliant takedown, and you can upgrade them to leave as a trap. I thought they were much better thought out than the plasmids from the Original. I'm sure you'll love them mate.

Stop your sobbing go pick up a cheapo playstation 3 and buy the Last of Us and witness a Gaming masterpiece so stop torturing yourself and take the plunge.
Besides you can also get GTA5 as its delayed on PC ,then in a couple of months you can trade it all in against a Playstation 4 .....Lovely Jubbly
You keep crying Spooky of not been able to play these game we talk about,a true gamer would go out and get the Equipment .
If I saw drop dead fantastic games on a PC that everybody was raving about then I would get back into it,but sadly this is not the case and I don't really need a PC for playing Quality games,if they optimise the playstation 4 version of Battlefield 4 then I think I will be happy even if it might not quite match a high end PC version, anyway will look better than Swanny [ aka Steptoe] version on his Playstation 3 ....Fat model at that ....

Mate, I don't think I'll be getting a PS3 just before Sony release the PS4. Yeah, GTA5 is very tempting but not that tempting. I can wait. I'm used to waiting, being a PC gamer.
MrNelster, my PC is not bad spec'd but a few years ago it was a lot better. I got me some nice fast SSDs and no game in the past 5 years or so has really pushed me to think of upgrading.
Timey, I will just get a PS4 if I can stop spending all my money on camera gear. Trouble is there's just so much stuff I need.

The disc drive stopped working on my fat PS so I bought a slim one when BF3 came out
So for the record I own two PS3's

The best time to pick up a PS3 would around the start of decemeber when all of the traded in ones are going for about £50 in GAME, CEX etc.
Get a PSN+ sub and you'll be laughing for months.

£50 eh? Hmmm... sounds good to me. [he says counting the cobwebs and fluff in his pockets]

Hey Spook whatever rocks your boat, your obviously a keen photographer and if thats what you enjoy doing then there is nothing wrong with that passion.
Only only harp on about getting a console because i know you would enjoy it been how you love games,so why deprive yourself and miss out on some really cool games not available on a PC.
|
|
|
Don't think they will be that cheap as Blockbusters have offered me £90 for my 120 Gig Slim One,not the Fat type like Swannys

I think he meant a Playstation 1
