Sadly not even close.
Killzone Shadowfall truly Looks epic and a real next generation game

Looks really good but I haven't played any of the previous ones which I would want to do before playing this.
To be fair BF4 would never of looked this good because it is on both current and next gen.

BF4 beta on 360 and ps3 has graphics texture issues, if you compare to the PC beta then its quite a step up, PC and next gen consoles will show BF4 off alot better then 7 year old hardware and you cannot compare single player footage to multiplayer as their completely different.

And that's off screen footage. Can't wait.

I doubt Battlefield 4 will look much better given the development time and the fact the Playstation 4 and Xbox One ship in 2 months......
As for it been single player then you have a point, but then again i can show you some drop dead gorgeous multiplayer videos of the game in action and it trounces Battlefield regardless.

Well ive looked at a few Killzone Multiplayer footage videos and its just basically cod, so small maps and low player count (24) with no destructible terrain.
Battlefield is a completely different type of FPS, if you want to compare killzone then cod is the closest thing to it in terms of FPS type.
If you want to compare graphics you have to wait until BF4 and Killzone are both out on PS4, see which game makes the best use of the new console.

I have seen the Battlefield 4 videos on Playstation 4 and they look very good,im just not convinced at present that this game will shine or look very good Multiplayer on consoles at least.

Low player count 24,what you expecting on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 then, not everything is destructible in Battlefield 4 and if it looks like the Playstation 3 beta then they should not have bothered with it anyway, this was by far one of the worse FPS i have seen for a long time and expect countless patches on day one on a massive size and scale.
When you look at
THIS on Xbox One it looks Drop Dead Gorgeous .

That video starts off really funny. Getting used to the controls I guess. Love the way (@ c.36 secs) he throws a grenade right on the spot of his own prone team mate. It's what I would've done too.
Yeah, the gfx looked nice there. The lighting and colour saturation and enhanced level of detail compared to the beta looked good, sort of reminded me of STALKER with the tank graveyard.
CCXO makes some good points tho. Battlefield offers a lot more processing effects like destructible environments which do have a largish impact on the nature of the game (depending on level). Yeah, not everything's destructible unfortunately but then there are no nukes as far as I'm aware of.

If Dice can get 64 players on the PS4/Xbone versions of BF4 and the previous version had 32 players for killzone, why the decrease on a more powerfull console.
Destruction is a great tool for a fps but it has to be balanced for gameplay and performance.
BF3 looked bad on PS3 and 360, Dice should have dropped the old generation and focused on the new generation alongside the PC lead platform.
So you are using a beta version of the worst platform to judge the games graphics, until its released on PC-Xbone/PS4 you cannot judge the graphics.
As for patches all fps have a day 0 patch and more will follow to improve performance and balance the game.

The player number depends on the map sizes really, BF3 and BF4 have huge maps so 64 is great. Don't know what Killzones are like but maybe 24 is enough.
I think BF3 looked good on PS3, even the BF3 beta looked far better than the BF4 beta. You expect bugs in a beta but not terrible graphics that look worse than the previous game. Not just that they have changed the controls, driving a vehicle is now horrible.
Hopefully they will manage to sort all these issues before release.

I would have thought that it would be standard practice for developers to improve graphically the quality from there previous game.
I really do hope that the Playstation 4 and Xbox Versions are up there with most PC counterparts,if thats the case i will invest in the game but not if it looks anything like the Playstation 3 game.

BF4 beta was only a 1.4GB download on xbox, so was not expecting the best textures.
The question really is when did the beta get broken off from the actual product development cycle?
Being able to put peep holes into concrete barriers is an interesting change, and so long as this beta is like playing the old BF3 but without the HD texture pack then it looks to be a nice release.
Now all I want is for there to be an upgrade path from BF4 on old consoles to the new generation. In short is it rush out buy it and then buy it again, or be sensible and just wait for New Year and new console bundles at better prices to appear.

There is, you will be able to upgrade your copy of BF4 to a next gen version for £9.99. That offer will be available until the 28th of March.

Personally i would wait the extra 4 weeks because its not exactly blowing everybody away now is it,and that includes the very people on here that basically love anything Battlefield with a passion
There is plenty out around October ,November and if it turns out to look really sweat on a Playstation 4 then i will buy it but not on what i have seen so far.

Yup, couldn't agree more

This is the thing that gets me regarding the Playstation 4 release date,I'm thinking that Sony know how many units they can make week by week and like everything else those dam Yankees get it before the rest of us.
The majority of games like Assassins Creed Black Flag,Cod Ghosts,Battlefield are out a fair few weeks before the playstation 4 UK launch and they must be struggling with console production as it would have made more sense to do a simultaneous launch giving that these games will be starring me in the face for the best part of 3 weeks and i dont get to play them and have to wait for Swannys Playstation 3 verdict

Download what...........First you got to actually have a Playstation 4 and unless im going to import one for the sake of 2 weeks then i very much doubt im that desperate.
10 years ago YES,as you could wait up to a year if not more for a new console or game but now its virtually all the same time give a day or 2 for a game and a few weeks for a new console.
Besides im not downloading any full retail game and clogging up a very limited 500 gig hard drive which i dare say at some point in the future i will upgrade.
Dont mind downloading PSN games like Ressigun of the store and other stuff made for the service, but apart from those i want the disk because once you go down the digital route there is no going back and no trade in of that game and your stuck with it,and after all that you have probably been shafted and paid more money for it also.

Yeah, you gotta watch some of those bundle deals as I recall the games had to be downloaded. Might be I mistook it but best to check first.
On the subject of BF4. I played it last night on the Siege of Shanghai expanded map with vehicles and choppers and stuff. It was pretty good, much more like BF2 but also meant spawn (base) killing is back big time as obnoxious players pick off non-capturable base assets.
So the annoying things... lots of. They've reset my control settings again (beta update) and that's a real pain sorting out as there are way too many buttons to configure and they've needlessly replicated stuff across the common, solider, land, planes and choppers screens. That, and you still can't configure settings out of a game.
Graphics are all right I thought, a bit arcadey (lack of texture) but very varied and detailed objects, buildings, sign posts and everything. The main skyscraper you see in the trailers (which they blow up) is really cool to play. Something quite epic about capturing it (you can use the elevators too).
Some of the new guns (picked up from the deceased rather than unlocked myself) are pretty smart. There's a lot of variety there. The vehicles seem to offer more multiplayer usability (ie - separate gunner job is worth doing) and they're much easier to disable and destroy: the wreckage remains and blocks up roads so there's a cool tactic there.
Yeah, BF4 is definitely headed the right way tho I fear for the return of base raping mayhem so hopefully the other maps will be better (tho I doubt it). Also, DICE/EA are way too greedy for my liking and want an extra £40 minimum for the expansions so you're looking at spending £80+ for one game. It's too much in my view as I've hardly got any value out of BF3 since no fecker's actually playing those maps. Where are they all?

I'm going to buy that Blockbuster Playstation 4 Game KNACK instead of Battlefield because I'm desperate....
And if it's good enough for nelster then it's good enough for ......nelster

You will not have this problem on PC but on PS3 they have messed with the controls. For ground vehicle forward and reverse used to be R2 and L2, now it is the left stick which just feels horrible. It was perfect before so why change it.
Maybe they will sort everything out before the release but as much as I love Battlefield I feel kinda burnt out on it so I need to feel WOWed by it to get the next one. More of the same but not as good won't cut it.

Been playing it a bit more but there's hardly anyone on it and I can't access outside of Europe. But it's growing on me (save for the bugs and control problems). My main reservations are value for money as I was a little bit of a latecomer to BF3 and there never seemed to be anyone playing the maps I wanted to try out. BF4 is too expensive if you're not getting the most out of it plus the expansions are taking the proverbial.

What sort of maps do you like ?
|
|
|
|
You can change the controls to veteran which is almost as they were
|
|
|
Oh right that's good. Just shows how little I played the beta demo
|
|
|

I haven't tried all the maps on BF3 as the majority of servers are unpopulated so I'd really like to have experienced them at least. But I like all kinds of maps really tho I tend to prefer playing large conquest with vehicles. Rubbish in a chopper or plane but not bad in a tank. How 'bout you?
|
|
|
I keep to 16 or under players, and generally play Conquest, Tank Superiority, Team Deathmatch or CTF.
Have played Air Superiority twice to get all the upgrades, but haven't played it since.
Any map with vehicles is good! Can drive all vehicles - just cant hit much in the planes or helicopters
