12 deals of Christmas on PS Store

PS Store will have the 12 days of Christmas sale again this year, starting on December 1 with a new game every 2 days. PS3 and PS Vita games. Think they had a few decent deals last year so worth a look.

That's good when you can connect.

I would agree if you mean weakness in the fact it has been dreadfully slow and tedious in the Playstation 3 era,I'm expecting it to be a lot smoother and quicker as soon as we are able to friggin connect.

Yeah the pricing for games a digitally downloaded content is a utter joke,I read from a Sony market guy who said games are more money than the retail counterparts because they did not want to hurt the retail market,and if the games where a lot cheaper to download then this would have a impact on the game shops that stocked them�.if you think about it then it does make a little sense if this is the real reason and not total greed

it is for some odd reason slow to navigate on my ps3 but that hasnt really bothered me, more the prices and limited content on there.

You are correct I believe as to why PSN can never be cheaper than retail, but the prices seem ridicolous.

I agree the protection for retail is stupid, a sale is a sale, sony shouldnt feel charitable to the retailers as after all the retailers push the used game market hard. The retailers also will always have a market because there is many gamers who always prefer physical copies to digital.

Bothers me that its slow in fact its god dam tedious and boring and always has been,xbox 360 was 10 times as fast,saying that tonight i am now all set up and connected and the store although basic is a breeze to navigate and very simple to use.

And the downloads are extremely quick and i expect it to get faster in a few days when the initial server overload dies down.

I am curious if the improvements are just down to software optimisation. As although the PS3 is weaker, a store frontend shouldnt be demanding.

Thats one for Toady or watch a Youtube video of the interface matey,my small brain don't stretch to those technical things you ask��I wouldn't even now how to show you a video of the new improved Playstation 4 but if yourself or somebody else wants to point me in the right direction i will sure have a go.

I agree most of the games on PSN are over priced and it's probably for the reasons mentioned (retailers). I think Sony's strategy is to move people to a subscription model (PS+). At the moment it is mostly older games that have been out for at least 6 months which are on there but they could have a more expensive subscription which had the latest releases. This would cut out the retailers and keep you hooked to your subscription otherwise you lose all your games.

Battlefield 4 for the PS3 is currently on for £24.99, note you can upgrade it to the PS4 version for £9.99.

I am a bit tempted but I feel I would be playing a poor man's version of the game on PS3... if I had a PS4 or suitable PC no doubt I would grab it. Another thing is I haven't got around to playing GTA 5 for the last week even though I think it's fantastic so the last thing I need is another game.

It would be fun to be playing BF online with you guys though thing is you are all on different platforms so I would have to choose who to play with

I don't know what to suggest but I get where you're coming from and in your position, I'd just be playing GTA5 to death all over Xmas.

Then, come some time in the new year, I'd buy me a nice PS4 and go join those muppets Timey and Nelly in BF4. They will probably be in dire need of reinforcements by then.

As far as social gaming goes, I realise I'm missing out hugely on PC. I was thinking hard about a PS4 at the time but it didn't make any sense as I'd already bought BF4. Upgrading my graphics card kind of put the nail in the coffin on that one.

One day I'd like to play on a PS4 but I'm not sure I could hack using the controller instead of mouse/keyboard setup. Maybe I shall go and pay Timey a visit and nick his PS4 for a bit whilst he's not looking eh? Sneak in at night and help myself to the contents of his fridge.

He sleeps on the fridge! Thought I could drug him first. Put some powder in his horlicks or just talk to him for an hour (that usually does the trick).

If you see or play Battlefield on a Playstation 3 then £4.99 is to much never mind that price,playing it on next generation it looks like a completely different game .

If you remember I think both you and myself thought the same when we downloaded the Playstation 3 beta a while back,infact I don't think mine even got that chance to take a rest on my hard drive because within 5 minutes of me seeing it I couldn't delete it fast enough.

Yes the Beta looked terrible and if it still looks like that then there's no chance I would play it on PS3, to be honest though I have not watched any game play from the final version so I don't know.

Yes I think that's what I will end up doing, GTA 5 is one of the best games I have ever played and is more than enough to keep me busy for some time. I do have a growing desire to upgrade and get back into some PC gaming though so who knows... ideally I would have both a capable PC and PS4.

Switching from mouse & keyboard to a controller takes a while to get used to (especially for FPS) but I have no doubt you would and be happy with it.

It's a great game I agree...the best not for me...that honour for last year at least goes to The Last Of Us

Last FPS game I played on a console was Quake 2 I think. Toady and I were talking about it here once. Amazing that the graphics look so terrible in the online videos yet in my memory, they were excellent! Ha.

I might be tempted to go console next spring or something. It would be nice to try some racing games and suchlike.

I've been playing Commander Mode in BF4 on the PC whilst listening to some phat funky tunes to lessen the boredom and it helps. Commander is definitely a very useful feature for a team to have, especially if it's Commander Spook at the helm!

So the last deal in the sale is TLOU.. £19.99 for standard or £29.99 including season pass. Additional 10% off for PS+ subscribers. Pretty decent me thinks
