GTA V

[link to this post]

So after 37 hours I have completed all the main mission in the single player of GTA V smile Such a brilliant game, the story and missions are amazing and so deserve to be played. I find it a shame most of you guys haven't played through it all for various reasons. To Spook or anyone else who is yet to get the game you MUST play the single player.

I followed this IGN guide to investing in the stock market and now have $1.2 billion for each character, going to go on a spending spree grin should be enough to buy all the properties and vehicles available smile If only it could be transferred to the online mode...or real life tongue

I think I will try and finish off the side missions now and then finally hit the online mode smile

Hahaha. Wow - if only the IGN guide to investing in the stock market could be so easily applied to real life. tongue Great tip tho. I've only just started playing the game mate and posted elsewhere before seeing this thread.

Had no idea you could invest money. Thanks. That guide should be awful handy. Unless there's a massive credit crunch I guess? crazy Spending it on fast cars and stuff is probably the safest thing to do. tongue

I am loving the driving, after getting the game and playing it on Timey's old PS3 yesterday. smile My new sony username is spooktooth if anyone wants to add me. You might wanna wait a little while till I gain some much needed practise as understandably you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself if I joined your crew. I can't aim for sh^t at present though I'm probably ok at driving. Not found any aircraft to take for a spin just yet. I need to find the airport!

It's not long before you have a mission which requires you to fly. I found the flying to be pretty easy to get the hang of and the controls/mechanics are good. Only thing I found a bit tricky was landing some planes and lining up objects you have to pick up/drop off with the choppers.

I will add you on PSN, my ID is absolut_blue smile

Have you seen the graffiti on the viewing platform at the top of Mount Chiliad? It says something like "come back here when you've finished"

It's get online time now. If we play on the same server I'll give you and Spook any money I earn from missions/bounty's etc. I was gifted $68 million so have more than enough. I haven't seen any big money for a while now so I guess it's stopped

edit...

Infamous is about destruction and killing lots of people..How can you not like that in all the next generation glory with high res graphics and amazing particle effectsIts a gamers dream ?

Watchdogs is a no brainer and i think the majority of us on here will buy that game without hesitation based on what we have seen of it.

Just be prepared that 97% of the people playing aren't friendly and will try to kill you as soon as look at you.

When you start they give you a tutorial and you'll need to steal a car which will become your car until you can afford something else, I recommend the Fusilade it's fast and handles great. When you can afford a garage you can get a Elegy RH8 and some beach bum cars for free, the little beach buggy is great and goes like the clappers smile
Also you can steal and sell one car per-hour. Best one to steal if you can find it is the Range Rover. I think you get $9k for that. Pimping your ride is much more expensive in online.

Jaysus Swanny! I worry about you sometimes! crazy wink

Sorry about the other night mate. I haven't looked into GTA Online at all so didn't know it would be such a chore in choosing a character.

Your characters look a lot more normal than the ones I was faced with when trying to create someone that didn't look like they'd be mutated. I wanna be cool not look even worse than I do in real life, ya get me bruv? wink

Looks like you've got the right kind of looking characters then if GTAOnline is basically a warzone of unfriendly mofos. They look straight outta Kill Bill or something. Total f-u! characters.

Thanks for the tips. I struggle identifying the best cars though I have played through all the main GTA games so understand the basics on what to look out for. As I haven't spent much time online, I was gonna check out a car wiki to see what the best cars were considered as. I've gotten to a part in the storyline where the Infernus is now available but never regarded that as a particularly good model in the past. I used to like the Turismo in GTA San Andreas and of course, the Cheetahs. That Fusilade sounds good.

Pimping a ride online more expensive? Sheee-it. It's pricey enough offline. Yeah. Making money nabbing Range Rovers sounds good. Got a lot of learning to do I think. I still struggle walking around in GTA let alone shooting at anyone. I'd be ridiculously easy meat for sure. I need a big bruvva or a (bulletproof) dog like Chop! smile

Check the IGN guide out

The Truffade Adder is the best car, it costs $1 Million but you can find it and steal it instead. Just check the guide above and it gives you the location of it. I didn't buy any cars during the GTA story but bought the Adder after completing it as I thought it would respawn at you garage if you lose/destroy it but from what I have read it doesn't ?

I recommend the Fusilade as a first car, you're limited as to what it will let you keep when you steal them, high end cars are fitted with trackers so you can't keep them. Once you have a garage you can get a Elergy and the beach buggy for free. Both of these are great handling and fast

Yeah, I will definitely drop in once I've sorted my aim out a bit and everything.

I've spent the last hour or so looking through the cars at the GTA 5 wiki. Thanks chaps. It's still pretty bewildering really. Like Timey says, what's needed is a nice souped up Reliant Robin: Trotter Edition. I'd like to see that take on one of those Adder's. tongue

I am pretty skint in the single player game and have been a bit naughty at times modding cars as Michael and Franklin. I managed to gift Franklin a nice Coquette that I'd armoured and turbo charged as Franklin seems to be the only one who can enter races?

Looks like I might have missed my opportunity in the 'I Fought the Law' mission to bag me some nice cars. I've only recently completed that one so hopefully I'll still have the save game...

Missions or survivals are good for earning money and RP. If you can complete a survival you'll get $20,000

I can start higher level missions and invite you both, they pay more than the lower ones. Missions and races are fun.

There's a survival called "the bone yard" which is very easy if you hide behind the porter cabin.

Single player is fairly easy to gain money, the best way is to invest in all of the stocks and shares that Lester tells you to when you do his missions. I made an absolute ruck of cash doing that, enough to buy all of the properties in the game and some lovely cars.

Online like Swan said sruvivals give you 20k a time and there are a couple that are easy to complete all 10 waves, it gets a little tedious though after doing a few so best to mix it up with a few races or parachute jumps. Can get about 9k for coming first in races and I think about 7 for parachute jumps and they only take a couple of mins.

Yeah, I've been doing the airport car race but first place payout is closer to £4.5K no? Haven't gotten to parachute jumps yet tho.

I did make some dollahs investing in Fruit on one of Lester's missions. Other times I lost lots of money when picking up investment tips tho that might have been because I didn't cash in early enough. I think I was a little lucky with the Fruit tipoff as I sold the shares before they bottomed out again. Also, as that Lester Assassination mission seemed to belong to Franklin I backtracked a bit and got Trevour and Michael to put all there money in Fruit too. 3 times the payout!!

I need to properly explore the stock markets as Trance linked a good guide above as I recall. Haven't looked into it as there's quite a bit of mind boggling stuff going on in GTA that I've yet to get my head around (like the best cars to upgrade!)

Cheers for the tips tho. Keep 'em coming! tongue

Yea I got caught out with that once too, the shares rise and rise and then eventually they drop again once it settles, so it is important to cash out fairly soon.

Some of the races give more than others I believe, I did test if it was based on laps by doing a 10 lap one with my mate but got the same payout, was gutted haha.

I think some of the point to point ones give quite a lot, but I haven't played it for over a month so can't quite recall blush

$20k is a good score smile are you playing against AI or real players during survival games?

Racing is fun as long as it is not too difficult because I soon get [censored] off with it.

To maximise profits follow this IGN guide. I made $1.2 Billion for each character following it. grin

Full details are in the article but make sure you only do the first assassination mission (hotel one) then leave the rest until after finishing all other missions so you have more to invest.

grin

It all depends how much money you want or need after finishing the Story mode. $1.2 billion for each character is way more than you need but before doing the stock market investments I had something like 27 million which might not be enough, the Golf course for example is $100 million. All depends what you want to do in the single player after completing the story which might not be all that much as there is the online mode.

Yeah, I see your point. All three characters have less than a quarter of a million dollars combined I think. I better get busy investing or something!!!!

Just reset my game though. I deleted my game saves earlier so I've got to build myself back up now if I wanna progress but at least I shall have a good guide. Cheers pal!

smile

100 million for a golf course eh??? crazy

Yeah - it wasn't intentional but I had to reset my PS3. No worries tho, I'm sure it'll be fun replaying the missions and it won't take so long...
