Yeah absolute terrible mistake and a disgrace to Gamers worldwide, what were you thinking picking a Xbox One over a Playstation 4 .
Don't tell me you been hypnotised by Jorkila
Each to there own and obviously the draw for you to play Titanfall against Infamous Second Son and the price point made up your mind.
Not played my Xbox One for about a Month, must put it back on one day as it's becoming a huge Paperwait

That is very aggressive pricing from Amazon, they should shift some consoles at that price.
|
|
|
I'm surprised you didn't pay £30 more and go for the Standard Edition with no games.
Yeah - looks good value and I hope you enjoy BF4. It'll also be interesting to see how you get on with Smartglass. I've used the Battlefield Commander app on Android on a Nexus 7 and that's ok-ish but I prefer using mouse on the PC if I'm commanding. Haven't played BF4 in ages tho.

I think that's the same price everywhere for now mate.
|
|
|
microsoft bundle a MP only game meaning xbox live gold subs income so the maths make sense on the discounted console.
|
|
|
Am sure that a PS4 will appear under the TV at some point
I will wear my MS badge of shame with pride

If I'd known they were giving away free badges, I might have gone with the Xbone.
I read that you can post directly to YouTube from the Xbone as of last week I think? The PS4 could do with a way to archive recordings to link to. I much prefer that idea to live casting.

There's talk over at NeoGaf that a new Xbox One sku is on it's way and could be the reason behind these latest price cuts!!
Now that would be a real kick in the teeth to the early adopters!!

Faster navigation, voice works, gesture not so sure about yet. Did read QR code from card though.
Battlefield 4 - maps are larger and the controller feedback is interesting. The game feels a lot smoother (higher frame rate is the feel) and more detail and effects, e.g. blur/focus stuff. Aim is a bit off as getting used to the new sticks. Downloading map packs now - these added stuff on the 360 so will be interesting to see how things like the dust storm effect work. Transfer of stats and premium was slick.
What sucks is the download speed, not even maxing out my ADSL2+ which runs at 7 Mbps.
SmartGlass better than 360, not tried in a game yet.
Oddly the extra game detail means a larger screen needed so down to playing on the floor I guess now.

Think we more interested in what you think of Titanfall and not the Battlefield game to be honest,I know Jorkila thinks it's brilliant and I tend to agree with much of what he says only I don't seem to be able to get the urge to play it ,and I haven't played it for weeks.

Will let Titanfall download over night and report on Sunday

Oh I thought you were downloading that as soon as you got your Xbox One....
What do you think of the look of the Xbox One,not exactly revolutionary in design is it,and we still have the huge brick adaptor to accompany the Huge Square black plastic box
Jorkila composing his words as I speak and I bet he's saying that Time2die doesn't stop complaining about his Xbox One .
|
|
|
Ok but make sure your reports on time else it's detention for you and 1000 lines

Ah - now it is all starting to make more sense. Jorky's rumours of a new Xbox One SKU could mean the power transformer will be built into the main box so no more ugly external power brick.
And usually, with new redesigns you'll either have product differentiation for setting a broader range of price points: basic, the norm and luxury/elite ends or there's hardware redesign internally - a new chipset design with a smaller die and more efficient etc requiring less cooling and power. But it's early days yet so I guess the new SKU/s will be an attempt to flog a better XBO and a cheaper one (a cheaper one might make sense at the moment).
Do you think the XBO could be sold without the Kinect thing? Is it still functional? My bet would be we'll see a cost cutting version first. Then a premium edition? Then a smaller one with built in power transformer. Then one with new chipset/hardware design. A range of storage options. La li la. Same old excrement just a different day.

I was but swapped the order around to get some BF4 maps and updates done
Design is fine for me, blends in with the black glass
Did have the companion smart glass for BF4 crash on the transformer tablet, so not that great. Finding the left button for grenades harder to hit in frantic play. What I would like is on smart glass the ability to view the download queue progress

Yes it could mate, personally nobody gives a rats [censored] about Kinnect and Microsoft should wise up to that fact, they have little to no software for it and it's basically just a pointless gimmick.
Motion controlled gaming took of with Nintendo Wii and it got the casual gamers/ party and kids all excited and interested and sold millions, then Sony and Microsoft came to the party 2 years later and the fun and initial impact was falling away.
Now look at the poor sales of the the Nintendo Wii U console ,nobody cares about motion controlled gaming and when Virtual reality comes to the market it will die a death quicker than motion controlled gaming.
It's fun for 10 minutes gaming for me is about relaxing ,chilling in a city chair, feet up and not having to be in a room lit up like a Airport runway and having to stand up to get this motion controlled so called gaming to function correctly".....it's totally a complete waste of space and the hardcore gamers don't care about it and never will.

I have Smart Glass on Ipad but I only use it for chatting with Jorkila and have no interest in the Battlefield thing for it either.

To be honest i hardly ever use Kinect only for the odd voice command but to be fair my console is in the living room so it picks up a lot of interference when in use!!
I'll be picking up Kinect Sports Rivals soon so it will get some use then.
My console usually connects wirelessly somewhere in the region of 50mb so my speeds are pretty nippy!!

Reckon you're right about gimmicks and motion control currently being very dissatisfactory and impractical. I also like to sit on my butt chillaxing when playing games, albeit I might be sat on a chair instead of a comfy sofa.
The history of gaming is littered with failed input devices. But I think there's a place for innovation but it's hard to make use of it right now if it adds to the hassle and detracts from what you said about just casual chilling and 'illin.
But, I do like the look of immersive VR gaming. There are a lot of applications for it so it will take off I'm sure. But for gaming, the FPS is where VR is at. We're a long way from the 80s when VR headsets were neck snappingly huge eyeball burning monstrosities but I expect we've a few years of refinement and technological development before they can be said to work without hassle.

Girlfriend bought it today as she likes [censored] like this, the bowling is decent and the shooting game keeps you occupied for 10 minutes.
I messed about with it for 10 minutes and that was 5 minutes to many fir my liking, sensor on the Kinnect 2 is suppose to be so much better ,yet setting it up on a sunny afternoon at 5 pm it was telling me the room was to dark and the features may not react in the proper manner if there is not enough light.
Another reason why I hate all this motion controlled junk, even now they can not get this motion control stuff working correctly to get a enjoyable experience .
So after the Awesome Goldeneye all those years back, this is where Rare Software are today ,making second rate motion controlled games.
Yeah Jorkila I'm been critical again as you may well enjoy it and I have not exactly tested it to make such a informed opinion.
Don't think I will ever be blown away with anything motion controlled Gaming wise, never have been and never will.
It's supposed to be so much better than the original connect yet I don't see any great difference.

On training module and is a nice and fluid character control the wall running and jumping is neat and looks like it will add a new dimension rather than just floor based play

Lost first attrition game and it is fun and more fast paced than BF4 or CoD was, very very easy to die.
The titans are a pig to kill, in terms of game graphics they are very good but the future scape feels a little cold, maybe loads more to see when I stop getting shot every few seconds.
In summary District 9 film crossed with Halo and BF4
