Bargain

That's what happens when you make huge mistakes in Marketing a new console ,Microsoft virtually giving them away for the price of a Playstation 4 with Titanfall included.

Kila I don't hate the Xbox One just the mistakes they made in the first place and the fact they handed the lead right back to Sony.

I don't care which one ends up better because I don't loose as I have them all,if Titanfall is the best they come up with this year then in that respect I wish I had just stuck with my Playstation.

Titanfall is decent,it's really good, but sadly it just doesn't grip me like the 4 day beta which even surprised me.

I will go back to it at some occasion ,but it's more likely a game I'm likely to forget about within months unless it's better than I think it is.

I played that with yourself and your Son mate but it didn't exactly do it for me,actually I prefer the normal capture and hold points,if one thing it needs more game modes as the few on offer are very sparse indeed.

Oh so it's a actual voucher redeem code and not a physical retail boxed copy of the game...

Sort of really winds early adopters up who support these customers yet we have basically paid over £100 more for the same deal only 5 months ago.

This should never happen and early adopters should get credits for at least on store games.

Agreed mate, they should definitely offer some form of reward/refund to the early adopters especially if there's any truth in the new sku coming up (maybe smaller xbox one and the ability to officially change hdd)!!

Why aggregate loyal customers that paid the premium price for there products ,I just don't get the mindset in the way these companies operate and what they are actually thinking.

electronics always works like this, early adopters pay a premium, in return they get to use product early.

Technology advances, marketing conditions change, so prices eventually reduce for same or superior product.

They know early adopters will pay a premium, to get early, so day one price is high, especially when pre orders are selling out. Then after thats done the next job is to sell to those who didnt pre order, typically those people are more price sensitive and wont buy until prices drop, hence what will happen.

Of course early adopters got some exclusive stuff that late buyers wont get. Also sometimes later hardware loses features. So a newer xbox1 or ps4 may have less usb ports or something.

Guess that's the way it works then, but if this pattern continues to emerge won't that put of future potential first time buyers in the future and those once loyal customers play the waiting game like the majority

We'll based on the sudden massive price drop Kila and the fact there is not really what I would call a massive collection of must have games, then I for one wouldn't be jumping on the next generation bandwagon that's for sure next time around.

Besides I'm not into gaming like I was a decade back, still love games when there really top notch which is far to infrequent for my liking, far to much average stuff on the market and I'm playing much more interesting games on my IPad than I am with all my new consoles ,infamous apart that is.

I'm really looking forward to Wolfenstein and Watchdogs but apart from Destiny later in the year I don't see at present much on the horizon in 2014 that interests me.

Obviously there will be massive news announcements at E3 ,but how long are we having to wait for those games that get mentioned.

interesting article on the gaming drought.

http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-and-the-playstation-4-wei...

That guy saying the huge sales werent expected hence games still been made for ps3, since games take a long time to develop we will see a lag before next gen gets a constant flow of big games.

maybe but I will say to you that the PC market has been like this forever and it doesnt put people off, eg. a new graphics card comes out, its expensive, people still buy it on day one. A year later the card is much cheaper.

I believe last gen consoles was similiar as well, prices were higher on day one than they were 2-3 years down the line and especially at the end.

TV's etc. same also, its just how electronics/entertainment works.

If you dont like people getting it cheaper than you did, then dont buy on day one and wait, if you dont care and want it early, get on day one.

You are right but I think it's left a sour taste because of how soon the price of the Xbox One has dropped, if it was a year later then people would be less bothered. I doubt Microsoft/retailers planned this, they are likely just reacting to the poor sales of Xbox. Makes sense to bring the price down to or below that of the PS4 also.

If I had been in my old job then would not have played this waiting till it was at the price I was happy with, alas since I got made redundant and tbb pays a lot less than last job it is wait for the bargains

I agree it seems to have been dropped a bit early. A new sku seems early as well.

I think this is a panic button mode microsoft.
