Well I played through the demo a couple of times and I'm now downloading the day one version from the US store for roughly £38!!
I know racing games are not Timey's cup of tea but this has everything I love in a race and to top it off it looks absolutely stunning so I'm absolutely buzzing to get playing this!!!
Any other Xbone boys on here getting this? (no not you Timey)
Saying that how you getting on with defense grid 2 Timey?
Whats the gameplay like???, Arcadey I guess???. I prefer racing games that are more sim like than super arcade like but not a full sim.
I've been playing the demo occasionally for the last week. Have played all through the first parts for all 3 cars and done a bit of general driving. Don't have a steering wheel but it seems to handle pretty well once you get used to it - actually got my first 1st place this morning...
Do you use a steering wheel - have looked up them but the decent ones aren't cheap and would also need something to attach it to - probably too much of an investment for me.
Got it preordered from Game and looking forward to trying out some other cars.

Been years since I played any racing games but the fact I can actually control it would suggest it is a bit arcady. But you can turn off a lot of the help systems and tweak the car settings. Thinking of getting Forza 5 but that may actually be to real for me as I quite like the ability to get away with things a bit.
What horizons does give you though is a much larger world to play in. You can do a lot of open world driving around europe and in the demo I've found that quite fun - especially as there are other "normal" drivers on the road so you do lots of overtaking moves at high speed around sharp bends, the sort of stuff we aren't allowed to do on the roads in real life.
Oh, and you can also do quite a bit of off road ploughing through fields and forests and the like.
What you don't get is real world damage to your car. You can slam it into a tree and whilst the panels will be dented the car itself will run just fine.

I love Tower defence games mate and Defence Grid 2 is a quality TDG ,but £19.99 is a bit of a joke even though I took the plunge.......
I downloaded the Forza Horizons demo which was about 10 gig and took forever, looks nice Kila and your right it's not my thing....
Now if this was Crazy Taxi 2 I might be tempted
I'm not even interested in the Playstation 4 exclusive Drive Club, the game that was suppose to be free for Playstation plus subscribers at Launch of the playstation 4, delayed and now the cheeky [censored] want us to pay full retail price for the complete game .
Yeah there is a free version......but basically it's small change .
I'm hyped for The Evil Within......Bigtime....
By the way Killa ,it took me 60 minutes to get the dust of the Xbox One,that was how long ago I used it

Interesting, I saw that Defence Grid 2 on the Xbox store and noticed it said tower defence and thought of you haha. I think I will wait for it go in the sale though, £19.99 is steep for an Arcade game and with so much else out at the moment I don't think I will touch it.
In regards to Forza I am not a fan of driving games really, the only ones I have liked before have been SplitSecond and Grid so Forza will not be on my list!

Just switch to the hong kong store Jaxx it's about £11!!
Will this come back and bite me on later down the line or is it safe? Does it still work with my existing payment method?
Actually just read all about this on reddit, it sounds like a bit of a pain haha so don't worry about it It seems like there are a lot of uncertainties, like what happens when Microsoft eventually block it, will you need a proxy to get on your games etc.
You know when I said I wasn't even getting Drive Club.......I lied....
After watching how glorious it looks the temptation was to much even though like Jaxx I'm not really into driving games, but there is a hell of a lot in this one and I want to trash any score Nelly puts on the scoreboard
Liar liar pants on fire......it's 2 million Yen ?..
Is it safe.....Is What safe ?....Is it safe ,yes very safe........Marathon Man ......

I've been doing it since owning the console so it's a piece of cake for me, I actually buy from both the US and the HK store!!
MS are the one's allowing the multi region console I really can't see how they can do anything about it.
Buying from the US store is slightly more tricky than buying from the HK store but still no biggy, not only do you get games cheaper you also get to play most games early when buying from the US store
If you want more details Jaxx, PM me mate.

To be honest mate this is one game I might just be envious of you PS4 boys for, if it looks nearly as good and plays nearly as well as Horizon 2 does then you're in for a real treat!!!
Alien Isolation:Nostromo Edition from the HK store for a grand total of £27.89 and i believe it's slightly cheaper from the Indian store
You know the answer....dig deep and buy a mans console ....
I'm not intending to get on the scoreboard. I'm taking the crash and burn approach, far more enjoyable.
The game looks incredible. I like the look of Project Cars aswell, but the visuals aren't a patch on DriveClub. Yes, the car models are amazing, but there is very little scenery on Project Cars, just typical track and grandstands.
I do think Project Cars will be a fantastic looking sim, but for me it's DriveClub first visually, and for the sheer bravado of racing for thrills, not just for the win.
Yeah it just looks drop dead gorgeous and no fan boy or biased stuff mate but it looks even better than Forza horizons .....and to think originally this was suppose to be a playstation plus freebie.....yeah right Sony.....a Pull the other one......generally free games are pants or 2 years old ...
And only appeal to Toady.....
I'm Init to Winit...........And the only reason I bought this besides it's sheer good looks was to kick some Nellys Bottom
You'll still trade it in within 2 weeks matey
Just can't bring myself to buy a PS4 what with the fact I game with my lad and a few other mates and my digital library, I just don't see the point (and the fact that I'm more than happy with the XBone)!!!
I won't let him trade it.
I'm Init to Winit...........And the only reason I bought this besides it's sheer good looks was to kick some Nellys Bottom You won't be kicking any bottoms with both feet planted on the break pedal chicken George.
The lights turn green and Nelly's off!
But where's Timey?
Mate your right ,if i don't play it and its sitting in my darkened gamers closet then it will be traded for sure, but I'm hoping i somehow take a shine to Drive Club.
Im not promising as i wasn't blown away by the Forza Horizons Demo.
Strange isn't it,not a game for months then we have Alien Isolation Tuesday, followed 3 days later by Drive Club followed 4 days later with The Evil Within.
Then come November we have a load more like Cod Advanced Warfare,Far Cry 4 and a load of others.
You know the answer....dig deep and buy a mans console ....
LOL and yet you have to have girly hands to use a PS4 controller.
I don't get this small hands scenario that people say you need to use a Duel Shock,i haven't got the biggest hands in the world but i would say it matters not how big your hands are.
Now what does matter is whats down below ?.Catch My drift ?
To be honest Jorkila if there was no drive club I might have got this, the demo did look really nice,I wasn't hooked like you but it looked quality..
All boils down to what you like really,it's like someone who hates FPS looking forward to Far Cry 4 and Advanced Warfare...
For me it's simple the Xbox controller is bulkier and heavier and has a nice weight to it, The PS4 controller doesn't feel right to grip to me because both sticks are at the bottom and you have to space your hands further apart, It feels too light all of which work better with smaller girly hands lol.
Also I heard that the 2 sticks are at the bottom on the Sony controllers to make up for the lack of stick in the downstairs (read trouser department) of the users.
I'm joking of course about the bottom bit but the top bit stands, I think most people actually call it girly as the Xbox controllers are much bulkier and heavier than the Sony counterparts (especially the horrible DS3 without the actual shocks)

See, Iranian knows the score, PS controllers for girls Xbox ones for lads

Was rounds a friends today , and rather than engaging in topical conversation we played or messed about with Forza H2 .
Very impressed , it has a really nice balance for casual to serious to just messing about and looks really nice to boot and as it seems a few of my Xbone friends are getting it , its going to be in my want list .
I do feel its good that it will probably resemble mario cart more than formula one when me and my friends have finished a race .
I have to say this game looks heaps of fun and really nice,i have watched countless videos and read countless reviews and its time to dust down the Xbox One and give Jorkila a run for his money.
Any other people on here with the game then post your xbox Tag on here and i will add you.
JorkilaStart Your engines Timey is coming as of Thursday.
Cancelled Drive Club because its another in a long line of recent releases of top games that has failed to live up to expectations and Forza Horizons I'm afraid to admit it is the better game.
Nelly will have you believe something else though as he has gone ahead with his purchase even though Timey tried in vain to try and save him some cash
Decided to plumb for this instead of what looked like the ultimate racer DriveClub which by now we all know has not received the review scores most playstation 4 owners expected.
So Jorkila tell me some more about whats good about it and what part of the game have you played.
Cheeky Monkeys have even delayed the free playstation plus edition which is a cut down version of the game, there excuse is to help with the servers and people downloading the full product.
My reason is this.
Sony haven't taken to kindly to the gaming press and there reviews which will impact sales and push people towards downloading the free edition, now with a delayed free edition it may persuade the driving game enthusiasts amongst us to have the attitude what the hell I can not and will not wait I'm buying the full retail copy.
Something that will give the sales a little boot, now not everyone will do this as the internet and reviews are what Gamers look out for.
Well I played through the demo a couple of times and I'm now downloading the day one version from the US store for roughly £38!!

Any other Xbone boys on here getting this? (no not you Timey)
Saying that how you getting on with defense grid 2 Timey?
Timey cup of tea or notIm buying will be here Thursday lunchtime and you will see by the xbox activity Timey will have it.
Can we go head to head or anything like that or is it just scores posted on lap times
To be honest it's got the lot, the single player is immersive and lets you link in some of the online features whilst playing.
The online itself is an absolute blast, not being a sim means rubbing is racing and that suits this game down to T!!!
It really is a beautiful game inside and out and if you don't end up enjoying it Timey then I'm afraid to say there's no hope for you
Racing games in general Kila are not my bag really if I'm honest, but listening to you and reading all the Forza Horizons 2 reviews it was a no brainer and I had to have regardless of the fact it's something I don't really enjoy.
But perseverance is the key here and as you know I'm not one for patience, but then again good looking games are high on my agenda and this also seems to have the gameplay to match which is sadly missing in the Playstation exclusive DriveClub......[ but don't tell Nelly]
You getting The Evil Within next week Kila.
Oh and don't worry I won't just discard Forza without giving it a chance and I will be looking for your times and scores with anticipation.
First game both me and Jorkila picked the Supra [ funny used to own one ] and Timey wins the race with a time of 01.59.554 with Jorkila position 6 with a time of 02.06.227 and I don't like driving games to be honest.... ....
Anyway what an amazing game this is given its not what I generally play or like,I love when in the first race I was racing against one of my xbox live mates Jorkila [ that was really cool] to be honest first attempt I was fourth but on a rerun Timey nailed the drift button.
Love the get out of trouble rewind button and I'm so glad I picked this up and not Drive Club as I'm well impressed.....Ok Kila I'm getting you will now revisit the very first track after the Horizons festival to put Timey back in his place....
Games even better when you have friends to compete against .....Bring it on Kila....
Nice music To .
I'm on the 3rd race of a very long championship, very strange times here as when I first raced it and looked at the grid position Kila was in there [ lovely] race completed Kila had won it and Timey was nowhere around 4th I think ,anyway thought I'm not having that lets do a restart, this time I finished second but Jorkila was 4th....not understanding this bit.
Then we have some individual times challenges....2nd race I think,I beat the old Jorkila in the race itself but then was asked if I want a challenge against the Kila, was amazed when we started and his Ghost car went past me like it had Nitro boosters ,anyway I think he has completed this course 9 seconds quicker than me so not everything is going Timeys way after my initial laugh at Kila times when I first started....
Kila perhaps you can enlighten Timey.....Have you upgraded that Supra you little devil and gone back to that track and put a fast lap in...
Edited by time2die (Thu 09-Oct-14 15:01:31)

The cars you race in the single player side matey are other players drivatars which are basically that persons driving style not their actual times
As for whether I've upgraded the supra I'm not sure without looking mate!!!!
So why do we have the finish order and lap times of these so called drivers, one of these drivers is you mate and your place in the race and race time I'm guessing is what it is as there would be little point in having a challenging racing game competing against others and the likes of your friends times and achievements .
As I said at that point you're only racing the styles of said drivers, you can if you like up the difficulty of the drivatars mate.
So when I compete in a race and you are top of the scoreboard with a race time and I am say 3rd with my race time are you saying that doesn't mean anything.....Are you for real or what ?
I know there are real drivers avitars but that time by the side of your name is the finish time you completed the race mate...... the one on the very far right,I'm not talking about other numbers and statistics .
It's the time that my drivatar finished the race on that occasion.
So where are your real times, are those the ones that are listed after the challenge when it says press X to take up the challenge.....the one when you were 9 seconds faster
Sounds a little stupid if you ask me,your racing and playing this game exactly the same as myself,we both compete in the same races and are both driving the cars during races and setting actual lap and race finish times, one of those times has to be official and done by yourself and not the avatar times as you suggest.
Well if them are not the real times then forget the original....I whipped your [censored] thread

It's the time that my drivatar finished the race on that occasion.
Yeah think I'm understanding that a little, because on the first occasion you was 1st,but when I rerun the race you where 5th.
What I want are your individual times when you raced on that particular track....I'm guessing those are the challenge Jorkila press x after the race.....those must be your actual real times
Sounds just like Forza5 set-up
Real times are the ones in the challenge when you waste a ghost car.
Does Horizon have the clean lap concept?

Good move Kila letting old Timey win the first race
He have traded it if you hadn't
Don't think i did actually according to Jorkila Anyway what you doing trolling in a gamers forum with the people that actually buy and play the games and don't just talk about cheap games and console bargains .
Without gamers like me there wouldn't be high street shops and you wouldn't be able to trade in your unwanted games
No trading here, I only own one physical copy in my collection for my Xbone, the rest are digital
Yeah you got a point there apart from the price of second hand traded in games ,your literally talking just a few quid between a used copy and a brand new sealed copy.
Plus the trade in prices have tumbled considering games are around £10 more expensive in the first place.
Good job you know what your buying then Jorkila,if that was my Motto I would be crying in my soup,I don't think I have ever downloaded a full retail price digital game, but if Nelly convinces me that the average reviews should be ignored concerning Drive Club then this would be my first time.
Downloaded plenty of arcade titles with the most expensive being that defence force 2 at £19.99

Downloaded plenty of arcade titles with the most expensive being that defence force 2 at £19.99
Ha that's not that far off what I'm paying for full retail digital downloads
For a arcade tower defence game it's pricey that's for sure.
It works out to be roughly £12 from the HK store matey!!
I can not be bothered using some sort of payment over seas and making false addresses and all the palaver that goes with it.
Originally on the Playstation 3 i had US,and JAP account but never bothered .
Really is no hassle mate, you just change the region of your console, add your payment details and it's good to go, easy as that!!!
Do you use your UK listed credit card on those sites,i thought to use a Japan store you had to have a credit card listed in that country.
Its good for you Kila and i appreciate the savings you make, but personally the way i get bored with games really quick as you well know its not something I'm to interested in because once you buy digital content there are no refunds and there is no trade in option.
Now something they should consider in the future is the option for you to trade in the digital content against other digital content to reduce the costs involved.
Now that would interest me the fact you could free up hard drive space and get a discounted price on another game you wanted and it automatically deleted that game for the new one.
Yeah I use my UK halifax bank card mate.
The trade in of digital content is something that I've been thinking about lately too and would certainly interest me, particularly if I could buy from a foreign store and trade in at UK prices
Yeah Right.....You sound like you been hanging around Swanny and Toady to long
lol
Joking aside don't forget some games from the US store are released best part of a week earlier than the UK!!
Now something they should consider in the future is the option for you to trade in the digital content against other digital content to reduce the costs involved.
Why would they give you money for nothing? Just a code that they already have
Just like trading in actual disks isn't it ,at present you buy a full retail game digitally then you have paid for something with no way of recouping any of that revenue back unlike actual retail disks.
Not only do digital copies cost more but if you decided the game wasn't up to your standards worse case scenario with a retail disk you can do something about it.
Besides why not offer a similar trade in value for those that buy there games digitally .
Yea I see your point but I don't see why they would give you money for something they already have. It's just digital not physical
Yeah but it would have a greater desire to buy digital content if they dangled a carrot and offered you some discount for your previously unwanted content.
They could do a sort of a trade in list which they could delete from your hard drive if you wanted to purchase a new game, not only is that a good thing for the developer and Sony it also declutters a hard drive that is filling up with a mass of games if your like me.
Personally i don't have that problem because as you know i get bored with them extremely quickly and they have to be of a very high standard and very entertaining to grab my attention.
I also upgraded the standard Playstation 500 gig hard drive to a 1TB within a week of having the playstation 4.,i got rid of 200 gig on it tonight, deleted Killzone shadowfall,Infamous second son,Cod Ghosts and Battlefield 4,pointless keeping them on as i never play them
