Shadow of mordor.

Well tonight because of the Sony network down again i invested a few hours into this game as its not one of those games that you can just play for 20 minutes.

And what a surprise this game is,its a absolute gem and a joy to play with some of the best combat i have ever seen in a game and I'm absolutely in love with it.

Never in a thousand years would i normally be interested in this type of game,but this game grips you and you feel connected and its really hard to turn of.

Infact its probably one of my favourite games of the year and basically i have only scratched the surface .

I've completed it now after doing all the side missions and then finished the main story, The only way I can think of improving this game is if it had co-op, If it had that I think it would honestly be one of my all time fav games, Oh and the last boss battle is rubbish and a major dissapointment, pretty much everything else about it is great though.

Oh and I love when a warchief enters the map, You here a load of chants of his name

Glad you mentioned it mate because it wasn't on my gaming agenda,nice when a game pops up with little in the way of hype and surpasses all though so called big game releases and gets amazing reviews.

What makes this game for me are the combat mechanics and the way these are so well implemented and flow so easily and are really spot on,especially when you tap the Y button to defend,it's so responsive and literally flawless......really loving it mate.

Not sure I'm fully understanding it,but I think it's top notch and it excites me to play it,which this year has been a rare occurrence .

Well Swanny it's certainly taken me by surprise mate and if you ever do upgrade it should be on your Christmas list for sure.

The production values of the game are extremely high and its combat system is literally flawless,since you like AC I'm sure this game would not disappoint you.

It's my surprise game if the year considering I didn't really know anything about it and generally dislike any game like this.

Not easy is it. I met a captain last night that seems impossible to beat. It said ranged attacks work best but an arrow didn't seem to touch him, in fact it just [censored] him off and he chased after me. So I lead him into that enormous big [censored] that's been wandering around. Didn't bother him at all he just killed it and carried on looking for me :/

Yes mate it's extremly hard,think you have to rank up and get some perks really before you take on any Orc with a rank higher than say 6....

Generally it's not just the battle with the Orc that is the issue,it's all his other minions in the process,I actually reset my game save as I want to start from the beginning so I can understand it more as I'm convinced I'm not doing it correctly.

It's got one of those maps where quite frankly there is so much to do,not a criticism but you get very tempted to concentrate on all the other side quests than the main story mission.

Try shooting arrows at fires....that generally takes quite a few out if they gathered around it.

Yeah you need to lower his alertness level from red to yellow,try hiding in the bushes and try and be out of sight.

But don't you just have to love the smooth combat mechanics and how easy it all flows and controls ....spot on this for me.

Swanny consider the playstation 4,upgrade for The Last of Us mate so we can play online....you can download it later......

I did have a look in game earlier as I needed to buy an extra long cable to charge my controller. You never told me the battery has a life span of a sick daddy longlegs


They were selling a 2nd hand copy for £25 I think

Yeah Dual Shock 4 battery life is poor mate,didn't think of mentioning that because at the time you had little to interest in a playstation 4.

But you know me to well by now to know it's not a issue for me ....

1/ I purchased a extra controller with the console
2/ I have a charger cradle that charges them at the mains...

I don't do this USB charging stuff....waste of space as I want them fast charged as quick as possible .

Took the the plunge and so far so good!!

It's got a lot of depth mate and it surprised me.....and that's rare

I ain't got a PC and I don't want one..

What's it on a Apple Mac .... Not that I need it,it plays lovely on the Xbox One.

Shame you won't be around for some co/op of Far Cry 4 .ive seen plenty of 1080p playstation 4 footage but not a dicky bird on the Xbox One......

Saying that I could still be tempted to switch sides if Sony don't up there game and sort out there [censored] network.

Went back on Drive Club last night and spent 28 minutes out of 30 looking at the menu and witnessing the usual sorry you have been disconnected from the network.....What a Palarva and complete utter mess ....

I do have a PC and get all my single player , campaign only games on the PC and save allot of money .

Multiplayer and co op i get on the xbone as it is the best place for playing online with me mates

I know its out on the ps3 and 360 but now days these cross platform games show no footage on the older consoles like they dont matter anymore so I dont know how good it is on those.

It's probably worth it, as you won't be able to play co-op on the PS4 due to all the online issues. If you want a good online co-op experience join Xbox Live it may not be 1080P, but at least it works

I haven't noticed any problems with PSN only with the DriveClub servers

It's the UI that's really glitchy where online is concerned, not the gaming.

Well stick around and play other games and you will,The last of us seems to be running nice and sweet now but ask Nelly about it around 4 weeks ago.

Took an age to connect and then kept throwing one or all of us out of games and,some of us could not here the others talking.

Not talking games in general Jaxx once you get connected but the playstation network itself and the ongoing server maintenance and constant disruptions past couple of months.

Drive Club is enough to DRIVE any gaming enthusiast to The nearest Mental Institution as its a mess and I've given up and got bored and there is to much more on the horizon and other games i enjoy playing far more.

I cancelled my Sunset overdrive pre/order,doest make much sense buying that for a number of reasons,firstly i could use Drive Club as a trade in as i can not see me going back to this game and I'm resigning from Nellys Club and i might also dump Forza as I'm really just not bothered with Driving games period �.

And another reason regarding Sunset Overdrive its by Resistance developers and that game was utter garbage and besides that reason COD advanced warfighter ships the following Tuesday and then the big one Far Cry 4 2 weeks later.

I might go down the town and pick it up i might not.

before I pull the trigger on this game is it all playable as single player as I am not a coop/multiplayer fan.

Drive Club works very well in single player if thats your question ? but the game was meant to be played online.

By the way Drive club has gone to the clouds in the Sky along with Forza Horizons��Don't want or need driving games and a BIG huge mistake buying them and i won't buy another thats for sure regardless of how nice the graphics look�

Big Sony Firmware update tomorrow Swanny,we can use the share program and you can play my copy of the last of us for 1 Hour at a time ,or any other game i own i may add���.And thats a lot of games in your library

Ive told you the best looking game on the Playstation 4 has to be The Last of us along with Infamous second Son,and Infamous second son is what you should have bought and you should have asked myself and Nelly.

To be honest Swanny both myself and Swanny and Jorkila and Jaxx have mentioned how poor things are on next generation consoles and its taking some time to get some really great games out there.

And by the way��..Stop saying Next Gen as these are current Gen well thats what you keep telling me.

I've still got Infamous: Second Son if you want to try it on share play.

Mordor is the sort of game I like playing but they've made it a bit street fighter-ish with all the combo moves that I'm supposed to remember. I'd rather it was more SkyRim style. And to be honest after a few moments of gameplay you don't notice the improved graphics and I did notice it glitching a bit

Sorry yea I meant current gen. It's not a massive step up from the PS3. I think I rushed into buying it and am regretting it a bit, should have waited for the price drop. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone upgrading unless they really need to. Take note Trance

Should work with the bundled headset too. The camera's mic, is just a mic too.
