Cod Advanced Warfighter

I know a month or so back I mentioned the lack of talk about one of the biggest gaming Franshise and I have to say I'm slightly worried with hardly any news and videos given this game is a mere week from release.

Around this time of the year when a new COD is released we are literally bombarded with every aspect of the game ,yet this game has had very limited press articles and generated very little interest.

Now I'm all for this game hitting the retail street date and taking us all by surprise by being a lot better than the previous instalments,but with very little press,advertising and news story's im beginning to wonder that we might have another product that Activision as publisher and Sledgehammer as developer have little to no confidence in there product.

Where are the usual wall to wall trailers through the add breaks which we normally see 4 weeks before release and countless articles about the game.....Zippo literally nothing.

So it's going to be a major result if this releases to generally positive reviews.....I fear the worse if I'm honest.....generally a really bad 2014 for gamers with games really missing the marks and generally been disappointing .

I know Far Cry 4 won't dissapoint and I give high hopes for Dragon Age,but advanced warfighter has me nervous and confused and I pray within days this doesn't become another quick trade in.

I'm only interested in this for the Campaign and if it's true the hellspawn (or whatever it was called co-op mode, personally I don't think it is), I've no interest in the normal multiplayer (got BF4 for that).

Yeah think I'm getting a little long in the tooth and find it to fast paced and frentic for my liking,a Zombie type mode would be cool but again nothing confirmed just rumoured content.

Think if this one generally fails then it should be back to the drawing board for this gaming franchise .

I was only just saying to my mate yesterday evening that normally around this time of the year we get a tad excited about the new Cod Game ,but sadly due to the last 3 or 4 years dissapointments we hardly raise a eyebrow or really care.

I would imagine the promotion budget got cut drastically , Ghosts was a financial disaster among other things , earning only 20% of what Black Ops earnt ( which was the best earning COD )

The franchise as been on a steady decline since Black Ops .

I'm getting peer pressure from my gaming buddies to give it one last chance but i'm not in , as i know its going to bumout , and you will be able to pick it up cheap , soon after release .

I tell you now I'm really concerned about the lack of information and general hype for this game and as each day passes and the release day gets nearer and nearer its a concern.

I don't want gaming sites plugging it for large amounts of money and all that palaver just more information than what we have at the moment.

Im guessing we are going to get the usual review embargo and won't get reviews until day of release [another concern]

Just hoping it turns out to be a good game at the end of the day and not another copy/paste with added Titanfall Jumps thrown in for good measure.

I fear this will be the case and if I'm honest I'll be shocked if it's not, Are they still using the same engine?, They've been using it since COD2 and when was that out 2005/2006, OK they've updated it slightly but it's pretty darn basic for todays standards.

I remember going to Tesco's for a midnight launch for one of the COD games. My excuse is my mate talked me into it

I normally try to avoid Tesco's as much as possible. Terrible place with lots of scarey looking people

Just watched the first TV advert I have seen while awaiting the footy on Sky Sports,I have to say based on the trailer I wasn't entirely impressed or slightly excited.

Graphically it looks severely dated and this must be down to the same old Cod engine and it didn't look very good....seriously this does look like a copy/ paste scenario

Saying that it's just a trailer,and I have seen mind blowing trailers only to see rubbish finished games one e they hit retail.

Yeah they are judging by the advert I just watched on Sky.......Game graphics looked poor to me,but then again I have high standards.

I don't know why they feel the need to change it all the time. I'm not interested in innovation, that's what new IP's are for. They should have just stuck to the original Modern Warfare formula with new environments.

Yeah let's just have a copy and paste of MW with new maps and leave it at that.....I for one will be happy with that .....

This super jump akin to Titanfall worries me,it also looks very fast paced and frantic for my liking,and my reaction times,was watching a video of some guy who has a copy and he was going around 1 [censored] kills with a shotgun and it looked terrible and predictable .

Yeah, the jumping is what's really put me off it to be honest.

The netcode cant keep up with the speed of the previous titles , so they make it even faster and more frantic .

telling you now , this is going to be a complete mare online , i'm not going near it with my FTTC connection , as i will always pull host , and anybody thats pulled host in resent CODs knows how that pans out .

Do you really think in this day and age when you connect with 16 players your the only one with Fibre.

I bet 50% of those that play will have it,but i do get your point and if thats how it is then the same thing can happen to me and everybody else with Fibre.

well judging by the advert for the game,the first i had seen any tv footage during Monday night football you are certainly right there.

I actually said in a previous thread it looked like the same ,tired,dated engine and i wasn't impressed one little bit.

To Be honest i should going by past history cancel this pre/order and not take the risk,but i keep putting to much faith in the product and the fact as Nelly said they get back to basics and give us Modern warfare.

I just want it as quick as possible thats my trouble,and i can not be bothered to be driving down the local town,parking up and using Game.

We just have to wait and see what happens on release and will it be a Hit or a Miss with the players and the review Board.

I really dislike jumping in games, ever since the days of BF2 when people started bunny hopping.

If it's balanced and doesn't become stupid and its easy to master for all then it may work,I'm personally thinking they copied it from Titanfall ,but saying that this Cod game has been in development 3 years ,unless they added it last minute

I'm more interested to see if it ships with a rumoured type Zombie Horde mode or similar,as that's the only part of the game that remotely interests me.

Bet the single player is quickly forgotten.

Yeah i do believe i will be the only mug with a fibre connection , as anybody else with fibre will stay away ,

Had three COD's to know they aren't about to change anything , and will carry on punishing those with good connections .

And im not alone as Advanced warfare pre orders are way down , they even tried trotting out the same old lies as last year , dedicated servers , new engine , no quick scoping ,Blah Blah Blah . and then a new desperate lie " its got Zombies "

Its got a type of Horde survival Mode called Exo Skeletons or something,if you clear the last round of that you get a bonus last round with Zombies.

I want it to have some kind of story though that you have to achieve something, The storylines in Zombies was great when you had to do something like blow up the moon etc, Wave after wave of survival/horde mode is fine but I really liked it when you had to do a story as well and not just survive (although the storys within each map were well hidden and most people didn't seem to realise there was stuff you could actually do), In the alien survival in Ghosts they had the storyline from the outset which was good but the actual mode was not a patch on the story mode of Zombies.

Well come Monday morning we going to get bombarded with information and reviews of the game,I'm optimistic it will be a lot better than Ghosts but not totally convinced it's going to be a great game.

If it turns out to be really good then I'm ok with that,my doubts stem from the very limited articles related to what is normally the biggest release of the year.

Normally we get Advertisment after Advertisment weeks in advance through nearly every Ad Break on TV,I've seen it Once and the Game Ships this Monday.

Activision must have pulled the promotional budget with anticipated lower than level sales,or the games another COD flop.

All I can say is thank God for Far Cry 4 2 weeks later to save the FPS day,this game will be far from a flop.....Guranteed for sure

Patched in so they could say its got Zombies , and i'm confident that's what we have here . dont trust them , they have barefaced lied before to sell this game .

Totally agree mate,the last 3 or 4 installments have gone down hill rapidly,we can only hope this is a lot better,but like you say using the same dated engine doesn't exactly fill any devoted COD fan with much confidence.

May be it may just surprise us and turn out a lot better than expected ,I've ordered it because I'm a sucker for punishment and I want it fast and on the day like the rest of the COD community,if it's pants it will get quickly traded just like the Useless junk that was Ghosts.

Yeah I will have lost money,but that's the life of someone that adores gaming and the chance I'm willing to take with what was once one of the Biggest Gaming Franchise on the planet which has sadly lost its way.

Been watching a lot of people with early copies playing this online in multiplayer and I have to say from what I have seen I'm quite impressed ,especially the survival mode called Exo Survival

Looks very much like it has gone back to the original MW roots and I really do like the way it looks and plays,given the videos wasn't the greatest quality [ must be on Xbox Ones] it still looks impressive .

Jorkila will be telling me as soon as he reads the above " Quote" that at least it runs on the Xbox Live service and who's saying he isn't right

Preordered my XBone copy from tesco online yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find I had £20 worth of vouchers, so that took the price down to £22.00.

Im loving it, best COD since MW2 i reckon, on the PS4 i don't seem to be getting host very often on my 77/19 connection and when i do it isn't the lag comp hair ripping experience of the last few CODs

The maps aren't all massive like people make out and the jumping around like scaled fleas soon died down, the myth of not being able to snipe or camp is also cobblers, you can play this just like any other COD.

I decided to buy it, as I could do with a newer version than Modern Warfare 2 (which I prestiged twice).

Shouldn't have bothered ....same old same old...

Oh I dont know - it looks like it could be fun. It does all laaaaagggggg though.

I've told you time and time again.....PC are a after thought and not the forefront for developers that now prefer Consoles ....There is no Money in PC gaming,especially with the likes of penny pinchers like you who do PC gaming.....Your a prime example why developers have moved elsewhere .
