Downloading as i type.
To be honest when it downloaded and installed i thought to myself what has actually changed.
Apart from putting all your games in a folder called Library i didn't notice much difference if I'm honest.
Only when you press the Share button do you then see more options.

There is also a update for the mobile app on your Android/IPhone/Tablets which needed it as it was really sluggish and slow and now looks a lot better with a new interface.

Any of you PS4 boys suffering with this issue?
I have seen it in the switch of menu but personally I never use this feature or the standbye mode before it......That's not to say I don't at some point click on it by mistake....
Seems taking the power lead out sorts the problem ,but you have to ask the question......Do they not test there firmware before release, somebody must have put it in rest mode and realised it won't switch back on......Obviously Not

I'm not sure I like the cut of your jib young man....

there comes a point where the company in question, in this case Sony, just starts to damage its own reputation. Good will from consumers will only last so long and with the recent DriveClub issues, PSN's constant outages and now the issues with the firmware, how long will it be before consumers start to lose faith? I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly, but one thing really grinds on me.
WHAT CONSTANT OUTAGES!!!!
Most of the accusations that are levelled at the PSN are probably fair a lot of the time. Perfect it aint. But I don't know when all these outages are meant to happen. Only when I'm not around it would appear.
On topic, I always set it to standby Jorky, so I'll let you know when I turn it back on in about half an hour!

Actually, as I was messing around with the new voice control update, it appears (by luck not judgement) that as it was called "rest"' instead of standby mode, I told it to shut down completely.
So I can't confirm it and won't be using "rest mode" until I know that it's been patched!

I have to say my mates an I have a game night every week and take it in turns to go round each others houses and the PSN is down for maintance a lot, It's fine if you are already signed in but if you are not signed in then you can't play online. Recently this has been happening at some point EVERY week. (We've now got to the point where we make sure we have both consoles at the persons house and the person who's house we are going to we sign in on the PSN when they get home from work (providing they have PS4 in first place) to make sure we can play.
That's not including the DDOS attack etc (although they can't really do much about that).
The truth is the PSN is light years away from Xbox Live in terms of online service, Both companys have their flaws and this is Sonys by far.

Agreed and it needs sorting pretty rapid if you ask me
So as I leave mine on standby instead of turning it off, does it stay signed into the PSN?
Thanks but mine is turned off completely when not in use.
I have one of these http://www.likecool.com/Intelli_Panel--Gadget--Gear....
NO Nelly you turn it off completely like normal, the problem is when people use what was called the standby function which is now called the REST function since the new firmware update.
When people starting using the rest function they couldn't turn there consoles back on..Another firmware upgrade thats obviously not been tested unless it was cocoa the Clown in the R and D department.
I know. But I have always used standby up until now.
My point is, I never have outages, only when the scheduled maintenance is announced which is not very often. So what I was getting at is, does the console stay connected to the PSN (in case of updates perhaps) when in standby mode?
That might explain why I never see the weekly outages people are complaining about.
Could well be but then again your not exactly on that often mate during the week only on rare occasions.
I never see them either and I turn it off every time
In which case I put it down to over exaggeration and group mentality....
I put it down to the Knob that designed and implemented the Firmware
