For those of you not privileged enough to receive pics via PSN message (and those that probably couldn't wait for the poxy things to refresh mad) I can confirm the game looks fantastic! The first time I was left alone it felt like I was Johnny R in First Blood. Whoever said the environment is not as pretty as FC3's tropical island is an idiot.

There has been some dozy AI and one NPC walking in mid air so far but I'm enjoying it too much to be overly critical yet. The dead body rag doll physics are really, really good and although I've never enjoyed hiding bodies before (I'm looking at you Splinter Cell) this time is different. You can loot your victim, but if you hide the body you will automatically loot as you pick him up. I've been making piles of bodies and leaving them on the road/riverbank. That'll learn 'em that nelly won't be messed with and is generally good housekeeping in any event.

The environment is reactive too. Brushing through the bushes actually moves them realistically and if you shoot through the trees, the branches are moved aside by your shots.

The default driving mechanic is awful, the left stick doing all, left/right/forward/reverse. The trouble is that the vehicles are so sensitive to drive (which makes them great fun on the mountain passes) that you end up all over the place. Sensibly they have included a "classic" option in the vehicle control menu. Well done Ubisoft for a change!

Animals are indeed far more aggressive. When armed only with a bow and arrow, I've been done over by the wild boar more than any other animal. You can (perhaps unrealistically) bait an animal in, anywhere, anytime. The good news is he doesn't kill the victims straight off, he mauls them one after another. While they're kept busy you can smash them up too. Then when they're all dead he will turn his attention on you, which makes you feel a tad guilty, but at least replaces the bait you used in the first place!

I had a ton of fun with this game last night and I haven't been anywhere near an outpost yet....or an elephant smile

The only bad news is that tokens have now gone up to £7-50 a piece.

You will still have them tokens left way after you have finished the game mate,it's just a gimmick and pretty pointless add on if you ask me.....

Because I just adore this game last night I bought the seasons pass, this game will get total dedication from me for weeks possibly months and I want every single bit of extra content on offer even though I'm only about 10% through the game after about 7 hours....

This is going to sound daft and it's not a criticism of the game, the map just has so much to do and see you can get totally lost in the game and achieve very little.

Last night I played it for approx 3 hours and added about 1.5% to my overhaul total,so how this is completed in 10/12 hours is anyone's guess, only way possible would be if you ignored everything else and just went from story mission to story mission....

Good vid mate. smile

I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that you were searching the side of the road for the body of that animal you ran over?

If so, a little tip. If you've actually killed them a little black x appears on the mini map to show you the spot. Especially useful when you C4 a pack of dogs, as they get launched! grin

I was testing the up loading video to YouTube mate,I would like to upload the clips in the order I make them to be honest ,when you upload it seems to just let you send your last 15 minutes you have played ,unless I'm not seeing it all correctly that's how I am seeing how the upload works..

Have you tried some of the map editor user generated maps mate, you could spend hours on that alone......I wonder if 2 people having the same game the co/op works better than the token gesture .

I am really loving this game, it's great. It plays the same as Far cry 3 which is fine with me, I think now I'm playing it on next gen and I've upgraded to a much better LED TV it looks extremely vibrant. I've done 7.9% so far in 2 hours 30, but it feels like all I've done is wander around doing random stuff.

My favourite things so far are riding the elephants, the gyrocopters and the outposts smile

I had to rescue 4 hostages yesterday but couldn't be stealthy enough to save all four so thought I'd come back later when I had some better weapons but it wouldn't let me, as soon as I started walking away it told me I would fail the mission. The best I could do then was let two of the hostages die frown

Don't like being forced to do missions :/

Blow the C4 while the rhino isn't too close and it won't ruin the skin. You may need a few extra bullets though.

Nope I have only done 9 of 32 story missions at the minute, I played it again for a few hours yesterday and am up to 19% now. With sandbox games I tend to just do most of the side quests first then play a lot of the story in one hit. I have been mainly collecting chests, uncovering question marks, taking outposts and taking towers.

Sandbox games are my favourite kind of game, so I kind of know the score now. I always buy the maps at the start, always attack each area in a systematic way e.g. only moving on from a zone once I have done everything there. Perhaps it's a little bit of OCD in me haha wink

You can't have crafted many upgrades then?

I try to be sensible but if I'm driving flat out and I see something that screams jump, I just cant help myself!

Systematic is good, but it's a fine line between that and robotic. I like to take it all in. It's taken me 10 hours to do those 9 missions and some upgrading. It's not a race. smile

I have completed the weapons holster and am onto the last upgrade for the syringe holder and a couple of others. Some of them I have only done one upgrade on so far such as the bait bag and the heavy ammo, but I don't tend to use them a lot so not my priority at the moment! I wanted to be able to hold 4 weapons and as many syringes as possible quickly so that I could have all of the tools available when attacking the outposts.

I don't race through it, I really enjoy taking it all in too smile as I say I just play a lot of these kind of games so I do a lot of the collecting part whereas a lot of people just do side missions and main missions and wouldn't bother with things like collecting the masks, collecting the letters etc. You tend to find with a Ubisoft sandbox game that about 50 to 60% of the progression is the story, then the rest is all of the collectibles and side missions... Which is the part I really like!

Well I just been watching campign play, this does look I might give it a shot, seems better than other FPS games for single player, but wow multiplayer looks a bore.

The streamer finished the campaign then spent 10 minutes on multiplayer, looks way too hard for my liking on multiplayer. Basically the streamer was fine on the campaign but was just getting killed in a split second without even seeing the enemy, the skill and intensity obviously way higher which I dont like.

Sadly this seems to be the trend in modern western games, make it so can die very easily and the requirement to win without getting hit.

Ive played the multiplayer and its brilliant and addictive, the co/op is where its suppose to really shine when it actually works.

Myself and Nelly can not get into each others games and have tried on countless occasions only to get errors constantly,so we roped our Farmer friend in Swanny last night and both invited him in to a co/op game which worked straight away so we have a weird dilemma here and haven't got a clue why 2 of us just can not get into each others games which is a real disappointment .

Why has Pagan Min been getting stick in the press? I've been oblivious to it to be honest, I saw the thing about them moaning about him being all in pink.

I don't find the story in this game particularly great, Pagan Min comes out with some fairly funny lines over the radio but the general story of the first few missions so far hasn't sucked me in. But I'm not really bothered about that as the gameplay is brilliant laugh

Even this is a total chore and frustrating mess trying to contact Ubisoft ,when you click on the contact tag it takes you to the platform, then it gives you possible reasons and suggestions with little in the way of replying.

I have seen a few with similar issues on far Cry 4 forums, but only a few and i feel i may have to reinstall the game or something.

Apparently the latest version is 1.2 so we need to check that, and there is the possibility that one of us for some strange reason or another has a different version to the other which would explain why we can not get into each others game.

i know that mine and yours is set to auto update and when i switch on my playstation 4 it prompts me that there is a update or i can see in the notifications that a game update has been downloaded and installed.

Personally its a last resort to delete and reinstall the game, especially if i lose where i am at present after 9 hours,if it sorted the issue out i would be more than happy to do it as i love the game so much it wouldn't be that much of a big deal.

Has everyone got a type 1 nat?, A friend had a router which for whatever reason wouldn't allow him to have a open nat (even when dmz and ports were opened, said it was doing it but obviously something was up), He often needed a guy with an open nat (type 1) to act as a bridge between him and his mate to play a game (this was before FC4).
I only ask as a lot of people don't realise that a lot of routers that hand out internal IP addresses for the consoles etc have a lease time and when that expires they could give out a different IP address and then the DMZ or open port will be on the old IP address of the console and not the new changed one.

Funny thing is Swanny can come into my game when i invite him and also Nelly can get him in also, problem arises when either myself or Nelly tries it and it constantly fails,so it works in a fashion but not correctly.

I was hoping that for some strange reason we had different patches but since we can both get Swanny in game thats not the case.

Interesting......... I read earlier that someone with a similar issue changed his NAT to 1 and then all was dandy........

Swanny I asked you for the settings last night and you said your NAT was type 2 .....crazy

Anyway I'm not sure you can actually change your NAT,isn't it automatic thing, can not see this in the HomeHub 5 or on the Playstation 4....

Timely calling Nelly........can you change your NAT matey wink

Anybody with a suggestion let me know .....

He did say it was Nat 1 mate.

Maybe it's a Plusnet/BT thing?

Well how stupid is that then mate if that's the case......NAT 1 is very very unsecure and NAT should be TYPE 2, even when you put it in DMZ and allocate Playstation network ip it still only changes to TYPE 2 .

People generally do this when they have TYPE 3 which Is basically useless for online gaming.

You can not physically change the NAT ,it changes when you do some of the above...

So you not bothered about teaming up then mate......I don't believe it's a BT v Plusnet thing either because we have played quite a few online games and I have even invited you to play some of my games haven't i.......[ wink] and that suggestion is if true is the most outrageous stupid minded thing they could possibly do...

Ps....apologies Swanny I must have miss heard you with all Nellys guns and excitement when he was playing the game and Timey here was trying to sort out the network issues.......

No, what I meant was, maybe they both have similarly poor default settings, unlike perhaps buying your own and configuring it manually.

You're probably right, I expect your memory is better than mine smile

I'll have a look later if I'm online
