Not a Scrooge. I enjoy it but I see it for what it really is these days For me it's a mince piefest with gaming and swearing. I honour that tradition religiously.

I've just discovered whisky and will be sampling a few different bottles this christmas

I stick to JD for the most part, but Bell's is as good as anything for getting [censored].
I hope you're not about to turn into a whisky aficionado are you Swanny? I like mine mixed with coke or lemonade and preferably served by somebody with a beautiful pair of "eyes".
/ ducks and waits for the heathen accusations to fly
|
|
|
Never heard of aficionado before
I've only just started on the whisky, I thought JD was ok until I discovered proper whisky. Try some Aberlour neat. But I'd advise staying away from peaty whiskeys, they taste like a mixture of petrol, bleach and acetone. Horrible stuff. Yuk!!
Always happy to be served anything by somebody with a beautiful pair of "eyes".

Got some Glenfidich in the cupboard and some Jamesons, but they've hardly been touched other than as chasers in years gone by.
It's not that I hate posh firewater, I just don't see the point. A bit
like stupid hot curry or Ghost chillies.
It's a bit like the muppets who condone doing speed before a night out so that they can drink more and not get drunk. Uhhh.....am I missing the point of alcohol?

I had a sampler of some good stuff whilst in the Orkneys and their advice was to put a single drop of water into a neat whisky as it apparently enhances the flavour. And when they say a single drop they mean it - they do it using a pipette.

Whisky is a really nice happy buzz
I have a bottle of Glenfiddich in the cupboard but haven't Jamesons yet
Cheers Ian I'll try the drop of water

I'm mainly into rum, I used to love Captain Morgans and I still do but then I discovered Sailor Jerry and I realised it was worth spending the extra £5 per bottle, the taste is amazing

|
|

Sailor Jerrys along with Kraken are my favourite Rum!!!

I used to be partial to a drop of the Captain, but don't remember ever having tried Sailor Jerry's. Due in part to there being four women in my house. I drinks to forget you see....
