I think DDOS is completely different. I don't disagree they need top notch security advice on tap, or that their UI is currently overly glitchy.

But I read yesterday that MS has forty something million users and Sony 110 million. Now take into account the massive redundancy in terms of server capacity that MS has as a whole with it's business interest in Azure, then it is likely far easier for them to recover from such attacks. We all need to be patient and have a good old game of christmas monopoly instead. frown

But overall, they need to up their game with regard to the functionality of their UI, no question about that.

I agree with the hacker, people should be glad that the kids can't play the games on christmas day and should do things as a family instead. The kids will be playing games every other day of the year anyway.

That is not for him to decide or impose on people. You wouldn't be very happy if they instead decided that people "just shouldn't be using the internet at all on Christmas day" and DDoSed your ISP, taking it down for the entire day, would you?

No I wouldn't be that impressed but I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Trouble is most parents these days don't have the strength to limit their child's play time. So the fact it was imposed on them was maybe a good thing, but probably the child just sulked all day instead.

It's got mine, but I don't lose any sleep over it.

The PSN gets really bad press because of it's size, but you're as at much risk with a myriad of other services and that's been proven.

They made themselves a nerd target, simple as that.

I reckon your deep seated hatred of young gamers might stem back to a serious T bagging in the past. Am I right? confused

And you can blame the parents for letting Brats get away with murder, bring back the Kane at School and reinforce some discipline that's what I say....

Taught me right from wrong and to respect elders.....I've seen teenagers hanging about at 12 am and they are 13/14 at most ,I had to be in my house by 10 pm every night until the age of 18.and if I did make a noise when I returned whatever time ,woke my father or neighbours I was given a good hiding and grounded for the rest of the week...
