Price has fell within my attention zone now - so question is whether its interesting enough campaign and multiplayer wise to be fun and worth £30 notes.

Or should I just buy the Ethernet faceplates and tidy up my wiring.

Behave yourself Swanster! Actually I didn't get to the end of FC3 to be fair, but FC4 I did and I've still got so many side missions to do, it's like a whole new go at the game. smile

I'm saving it for when a buddy gets his PS4, probably April.

If you have a reasonable attention span, the campaign is really enjoyable. Not genre defining or any such hype, but enjoyable. FPS and vehicles, there aren't that many titles that try to do that properly, let alone do it well. I think FC4 does it really well. There are a few little glitches with the NPC's from time to time, but nothing game breaking

The mechanics are great and the visuals a really big step up from the last installment. With that, all the side missions and the user generated content, this game is a real keeper if you like simply doing your own thang.

There is of course the PvP as well, but that didn't interest me in the slightest, so I haven't bothered to try it.

this one seems to have had some effort put into the single player, so I am giving it a shot.

Well a couple hours of play later and it is a visual feast but pace does nothing for me, ie with other games there is a bit of a buzz but the openness makes it feel too wishy washy, and trying to get around in trucks seems to end in crashing.

Driving is easy, but the darned roads are so windy and trees or cliffs get in the way.

Might get more used to the map and figuring out where to go to do stuff eventually, massive universe rather than the rail based aspects. More time to get the hang of it perhaps.

Visually though cannot fault it.

Nice weapon variety, but the actual shooting is a little lack lustre for me
Maybe multiplayer will ramp it up, but like to do campaigns first.

Did splurge on Kinetic Sports which is on offer for £8.60 currently, and World of Tanks is on its way to the bone, so will be interesting to compare with the PC version I play.

That's a good point and always a real danger with open world games. The story can end up a little fragmented and that's probably a fair accusation to level at this game. Even if only because there are so many side missions it's hard to stay focused on what you are doing.

I felt the same way about the driving at first, but once I got used to it, I found it thoroughly enjoyable. Remember to change the vehicle control scheme to classic, the default twin stick method is atrocious.

WoT Love it on the PC, after having previously played it on 360.

Much more planning involved to figure out where to shoot opposition and tactics vary from map to map. It feels a slower game until you find yourself face to face with 3 or more other tanks and reload times become critical

World of Warships might be fun once its out - missed the beta

Plan to try the tennis and bowling tonight.

500GB hard drive is not a lot, down to 90GB, probably get a load back if I get rid of demo's that are on it, but looks like external drive add-on for the summer.

Also need to explore the new upload studio changes

It's something the PS4 is woeful for not supporting. And I don't understand why, it's not as if Sony sells a competing internal hard drive replacement and doesn't want it's toes trodden on.

Yet the PS4 will support USB sticks when it suits them. confused

Second night and the vehicle control change has made a big difference and routes on roads are now showing up.

Gone from a 6/10 to an 8/10

Glad it helped. I'd give it an 8/8.5 too.

Now go find that off road buggy and get it flat out.

It's my GOTY for last year, but I still think the structure is a little haphazard.

For playability, visuals and sheer fun it's superb, but you have to keep those big scores for something really special, The Last of Us being one example. Driven to Destruction was another. Man I loved that game!
