The Order 1886.Avoid like the Plague ?

[link to this post]

First 15 minutes i couldn't stand anymore.

Be warned this is all hype and no substance and once again Timey Learns a very important lesson.

Lets be honest the past 18 months this has been one of the most talked about playstation 4 exclusives,it looked like it had massive potential but when the reviews started flooding in this morning i wasn't alone in feeling here we go again.

Now i have just played the first 40 minutes and i can say with honestly i have never for god knows how many years been so uninspired and unimpressed from a game since Duke Nuke Em Forever had the displeasure of actually slotting in my disk tray of my Playstation 3.

Its just so incredible dull and uninteresting, graphically it looks nice, but its not the incredible graphics the media led us to believe it would be,they look pretty bland if I'm honest, very dark and grey looking and gunfights that are just a chore to play through.

Tell you now if my local Blockbusters in the town were still in business i would have traded this asap.even for Alien Colonial Marines its that boring.

Swanny is going to say i told you so why Pre/Order,and in some respects he may be right, but if it wasn't for the likes of me then a lot more would get there fingers burned.

People will say you can not judge a game after a mere 40 minutes, seriously i can tell if a game has potential after the basic introduction and first 5 minutes and this isn't it.

And the sad thing is this game is never ever going to get loaded into my Playstation 4 again and the quicker its traded the better, problem here is there is limited stuff out there i don't own so unfortunately at present i must hide it out of sight out of mind.

I literally can not say how disappointed i am in this so called game thats represents a technical demo than a actual game.

If you watch the above video which is just under 15 minutes i actually probably took control for just 1 of those minutes, even when your prompted to walk forward sometimes the game just takes over and you are not doing it.

Ready at Dawn developers have done themselves no favours with this having achieved some good playstation vita stuff, and to think they have actually been working on this for 5 years.

If you were disappointed in Watchdogs, and i wasn't one of those people then if you buy this you may contemplate suicide its dire and the word GAME should not be associated with this dribble.

Mate with your patience i doubt you get past the introduction wink

Timey goes on about a lot of games mate that turn out brilliant,The last of Us,Tomb Raider, dying light to name just a few.

And mark my words and you will not like it or enjoy it,but please take it from me and play the first 15 minutes so i don't have to suffer the agony on my own.

Tell you now there will be some extremely negative press regarding this and user reviews.

This review sums it up

You may well be right, but that is a particularly petulant review, full of unannounced spoilers. He's an idiot. You could of picked a far more credible negative review from Metacritic!

As soon as I have the spondooleys I'm going to buy it and try it for myself. Hopefully cheap from an early trader lol!

It just basically summed up how i feel about the game in his words rather than my dribble Drabble tongue

Mate after what i just said and the warning i gave you only a fool would buy this even at a knock down price including the Swan.

I am interested in loving or hating it for myself on this one mate. You know, how I turned my nose up at Uncharted games until your insisting I try them and now look? The south's No 1. Nathan Drake cosplay specialist me (I know you like dressing up slightly differently up midland way blush).

I don't think I can have a valid opinion without playing it. smile

No you have no choice as before you read my mini thoughts review you had just parted with £35 Smackers for your digital download....

You and me both know that if you had read my thoughts before you took the plunge your pockets would feel slightly higher in the weight department .

Gutted really as I was looking forward to this title, yet after seeing IGN and Gamespot reviews, as well as others, I may hold off on this at full price and buy it in a bargain basement in the future.

Went over to a mates house yesterday to have a go on this and the first thing you notice is the visuals, They are stunning, The physics also seem very very good, After that for me it went downhill fast, The number of quick time events in the game seemed very high for the amount of time I played it, The AI can be incredibly dumb as well, After clearing out a whole section of enemys and not being able to go anywhere Myself and mates decided I must of missed an enemy as there seemed to be nothing to do, After looking around screen for 5mins for what we thought was the last enemy hiding it turns out we just needed for the AI to decide it was time for a NPC to open a door for us.
I've been told by my mate that this sort of thing has happened at least twice more in the game since (although not anywhere near as long).

This game is proof that very nice shiny graphics are not what makes a game good.

Because as I said to Jorkila, they forgot to put a Game In a GAME.....

The visuals are breathtaking but that's where it ends,Shenmue on the Dreamcast many many years ago introduced us to QTE but there was also a fantastic Game along with it.

It deserves the negativity that surrounds it,a game has to be exciting and immersive and this is neither and I won't be going back to it as it completly bores me to death.

I had more fun starring at Drive Club broken multiplayer lobby than briefly playing this for 40 minutes,35 minutes to long if you ask me.tongue

its the problem with modern large budget titles.

The first and primary thing they work on is visuals, then the game mechanics get rushed in as the deadline approaches and hence bugs.

DA:I has some really stupid bugs that simply shouldnt be there but its clear they prioritised visuals in that also.

Currently on chapter 4 and gutted that I have to be up at 5am frown

I think you seriously should re-consider Timey, this game is stunning to look at (really doesn't do it justice, you have to see it to believe it)!!!

Yeah the game play does lack a little substance to begin with and the intro probably does go on longer than most would like and does seem tedious but get that out the way and this game in my opinion is a quality production!

Yeah it's no GTA or Far Cry and you can't wander around doing as you please (you can marvel at the level of detail though) but this game was never going to be like that.

Personally I feel the graphics of this game alone warrants a play through!

Mate i hated the game within minutes of switching it on and it won't be gracing my Playstation 4 ever again.

Just totally bored me to death and killed my love of games in general.i have to much others other stuff to play than this dribble.
