Time and Time Again
The most powerful gaming system for gamers yet flaw after flaw getting Multi platform games to run correctly and look as awesome as they should given the graphic cards and performance.
This is another in a long list of reasons i eloped to Console Gaming,I'm not saying this is a bog standard issue, but during my time playing and supporting PC gaming i don't recall many times i installed a game without error and driver issues and a program that constantly kicked me out and needed constant attention and updating......PunkBuster ?
Im not even sure this program still exists but when it worked it was great but when it didn't it was Good Night Vienna when trying to play online games with dedicated servers.
Im not dishing the dirt on those that adore PC gaming,i just see this happening way to often and its something that shouldn't be happening.
Is this the developers fault of Nvidea and AMD and there Drivers ?

|
|
Nah this will be the result of poor optimization from the games developers, patch incoming lol
Worst part about the consoles having the lions share nowadays, cross platform being ported across to pc's, much harder to optimize for literally hundreds/thousands/millions of different system configurations!!

Not in the slightest Matey,if i wanted one i would buy one
Is this spec better than Nellys
This is about the minimum spec i would go for,its a PC so i have no idea if it duel boots like Nellys or what the hell he's going on about regarding Steam.
I think he is talking about installing the Steam Platform or something ?

Looks ok but too complicated for a console player like yourself

|

Yeah console players are way more technically in the know

I think he is talking about installing the Steam Platform or something ? That's a really cool system, but you are a marketing mans dream at times! Quite like the case they've used there though.
Mate. Dual booting just means swapping between operating systems. You install Windows, play games, or buy them through the Steam store perhaps. Steam OS is something different. It's an alternative operating system (hence the name "OS"). If you want to run as a Steam Machine on their new OS, you boot up (start your computer) in that mode. If you just want to play normal games, you boot up in Windows as you normally would. Simples!
A lot of people have bought "Steam Machines" already, but simply installed Windows on them for the time being.

I love me Gadgets
Ive just binned this BT home Hub 5 piece of junk and bought a duel band Netgear Router for £150.......Im sick of BT claiming this is good for wireless and claiming it offers the fastest wireless speeds possible......I don't think so.
I don't use wireless for gaming ......Im not simple i use home plugs downstairs but lately and I can not figure if this is the HH5 ,the home plugs or the pathetic PSN network as its taking me absolutely hours to download things.
Got a 1gig Batman file redeemed code here which is saying 6 hours to download, what the [censored] !
It took me 7 hours today to download the Batman Arkam night update which was around 4 gig plus, never ever experienced such slow downloads from PSN before.
Done all the usual stuff, rebooted router, changed PSN dns and done connection test that said speed was ok.
anybody else suffering from 28k modem speed downloads from PSN.

I love your gadgets more than mine. There's a lesson in there somewhere...
Anyway. If I couldn't stick that pc on my TV screen, I wouldn't be even bothering to buy one. Stuff sitting at a monitor. I break my back every day at work, I ain't doing it when I get home as well.
There's definitely only one reason for getting that close to a computer screen.

The pc version of the game was outsourced to a 12 man studio that specializes in console development, could have at least outsourced it to a pc development studio.

I use home plugs too

remember for a pc gamer, if it runs like the consoles 30fps, its considered bad, so something like this would probably still be on par with consoles.
Also consoles are not problem free, the xbox1 needed various patches to run project cars right.

Don't know i buy all multi platform games on a Playstation 4 for obvious reasons.
My Xbox One is a giant paperweight to be honest, along side the Nintendo Wii U they have to be the 2 most underused consoles i have ever owned.
To be frank i could easily flog them like Jorkila and seriously i wouldn't even know they were missing .
|
|

got a nice system with a titan x with 4k screen, AIO after market for the gpu soon
most games ultra high to very high, 60 fps
left thumb has mobility issues and so consoles suck for me

Windows is now a 64 bit tweak of a 32 bit extension to a 16 bit user interface for an 8 bit operating system based on a 4 bit architecture from a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition.

sell the xbox1 and less cables?

I have just removed the Nintendo WII U from the TV stand, now whats next ?
Its now in a gaming box full of Gaming related stuff never to see the light of day again more than likely .

In all honesty it's the only way to run a serious games machine (not a dig at consoles btw),
I don't see Steam OS as the future of gaming just yet so I'd say he's made a wise choice (apart from not building it himself), that way he could have spent the extra £150 on better foliage

Didn't know you had the capabilty to build a PC matey if I'm honest, not that you haven't i just didn't see you as this type of person.
I mean most will say its dead easy but i beg to differ,i would personally have it built by so called experts and not have the hassle as i have limited patience.
I guess why it has surprised me that you have built your own system,as patience is certainly not your cup of tea, especially when it comes to playing games.
But Kudos to you Kila for building your system and i expect a full report listed on here about it.
Was going to out source my build to Swanny, but i expect Swanny will spend the next 2 years waiting for price drops of all my listed componants so he could take advantage of poor Farther Timey .
But on a serious note ,if i hadn't got this iMac sitting in the office that suits all my internet needs i would buy a gaming rig for sure as i would have needed some PC in the office, and take it from me,it wouldn't be some cheap PC World Junk or so called Dell Gaming System.

for me building a rig is part of the experience, can be very enjoyable and fulfilling also when its done and turns on for first time.
My rig is personal to me, built how I want it in terms of noise, cooling and spec.
In my current rig, the only part that was difficult was fitting the cpu cooler, they designed it to be very awkward for one person to do themselves. I love my fractal design case, especially the drive bays how I can slide them in and out with ease.
I can understand for someone who has never done it before it can appear scary and in the past I have made mistakes.
Once I was building a rig for my friend, and I popped in the cpu without using thermal compound, that may seem silly, but this was the era just when 586 cpu's had come out and it was normal to not use compound on 486 cpu's. Within 10 seconds there was a pop noise and the cpu was blown, removing it had a massive burn mark
Now days motherboards have protection so would auto shutdown and of course its now standard practice to use compound on all cpu's.

I had every intention of building myself but came across the setup that I now own that had literally only just been built, hence the deal with my xbox one!
The hardest part is picking the parts, as proven by Nelly and Chrysalis everyone has a different view on what's best or even better value and it's an absolute minefield!

here you go sell the xbox1 and get this http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/apollo-pre-built-... expensive tho but there is a premium for prebuilt.
actually I think this one is better for 2 reasons.
http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/achilles-high-spe...
1 - its cheaper
2 - the first one isnt a k processor so cannot be overclocked, the second one can be.

No point getting the K when he will have no intention faffing about (which will be his words) overclocking!!

|

Thats about the price of the Twin Graphic cards i would put in which doesn't include the Motherboard,Cpu.case and ram plus a SSD hard drive and a few other shiny pieces .
This is as cheap as i would go
Prefer This one Though
I don't do cheap

Just looking at those Trance and i was going to list the Swordfish PC but even Timey isn't spending £10,000 on a metal Mickey
Thats about 33 x Playstation 4s

Why would you want to even attempt to overclock a PC of that Calibre ,or any other decent gaming rig you have paid money for.
Only people who have spent the minimum requirements need to look at overclocking.Jorkila ring a bell
Swanny would have to use a Crank to start his on his slimline budget and tight fisted ways.
Remember the Toad post claiming you can have a really good PC for £500.Yeah Right

I would if it meant delaying an upgrade until absolutely necessary. That's why I went for the Intel k version. I'd have gotten the same performance more cheaply from a locked i5 I suppose, but if it could add longevity then never say never.

I wouldn't say £260 on a new gpu is classed as spending the bare minimum me old mucker
|
|
|
Yeah I could spend £1500 on a system but it's overkill mate, for a start what I have will run anything on high/ultra @1080p and with a little tweak here and there a bit better (that's as soon as I've stopped this 970 crashing) , so a £700-£800 build is sufficient in my eyes.
Besides I don't have more money than sense

My gaming rig was pretty good back in the day

No its the rest of the stuff

I do
So there lol! You crack me up
|
|

So once you've bought your £1500-£2000 system (you will) I'll give you £50 for it once you get bored of it you will)
|
|
|
More money than sense but i didn't say totally stupid........£50 nicker is far to much, .
I am not becoming a Geek like you and Nelly
|
|
|

You're already a gaming geek, you're just in denial mate (in my best brummie accent)!!!
|
|
|
Im Batman
|
|
|
You been playing it? I got it free with my graphics card
I've just for the first time been able to play it, would crash pretty much after the first set of intro's and now I've installed windows 10 it runs fine!!

Ive had a little dabble, not really my type of game and it doesnt help that it wont connect to playstation network since the launch of the game 7 days ago.
So all the online leaderboards and challenges don't work
it looks fine and dandy but it doesn't exactly want me to turn on the playstation 4 and I'm not that interested in it to be fair.
Don't get me wrong the game does what its suppose to and looks really night,my problem is I'm not into beat em ups and this has plenty of that
If this was Batman with a machine gun [ak47]i would be far more interested.
