battlefront ps4 gameplay footage with visible framerate

[link to this post]

900p framerate all over the place.

game looks fun to play but they shoudl lower this to 720p on the consoles for smoother gameplay. The hardware is more suited to 720p anyway.

A dice Game so be worried that the game and online components will be completely broken upon release.

Apart from that it doesn't look that exciting to me anyway,Just Cause 3 and Fallout 4 and Rainbow Six look far more appealing wink.

Looks pretty playable to me. The fluctuations look reasonably smooth, not spiking and troughing. I can live with 30fps usually if it's locked.

The trouble is it's not the sort of game I'd play on my pc. Too many keyboard and mouse warriors to take my lowly dual shock down lol! Does look like a good battle format though. smile

That was BF4, Hardline had a smooth release and it looks like EA will do the same with Battlefront- have already said if its not ready it will be delayed.

My least favourite Battlefield to date and would've been better as a new game mode as DLC for BF4, which is a great game btw!

Yeah have to agree the numbers make it look bad but take the overlay out of the equation and I don't think I'd hardly notice it!

The thing I have noticed since going back to pc is that 30fps on pc isn't nearly as smooth as on console!

yeah but I think on release vsync would be on to stop tearing so it wouldnt go down from say 60 to 45, it would have to drop from 60 to 30 to avoid tearing.

Or do the consoles have some anti tearing tech?

Obviously its a development game footage - unfortunately it makes everything look sterile and bland.

I'm not sure whether there's any truth in that, but I definitely get the same feeling. Maybe it's because the consoles keep it consistently lower that it gives that impression. From what I've played so far on pc, whenever you really push the visuals, it definitely seems to get spikey.

Perhaps the low level console API's aid in that consistency when stretching the hardware? Maybe DX12 will do the same for PC?

Dice was one of the 3 developers working on hardline, since the game used the Frostbite 3 Engine which BF4 runs on and so will Battlefront.

At least I now know why nerds wear tank tops. You need lots of free arm movement for this keyboard and mouse malarkey. I'm like a rotary drier in a gale!

Might even need to go topless.... shocked

On the bright side, I bought myself a cheap Nova Strike gamepad in preparation for my assault on the cheap seats at Steam. smile
