Re: Project Cars PC

my comparison is based on the hardware available to me. I am not going to give drive club free points for that reason.

So its a simple comparison of the gameplay and physics based on my own personal opinion on the two games.

I dont own the full drive club, I dont know if the gameplay or physics are better in that than the PSN edition and I probably never will know as i have no plans to buy it.

If you are suggesting drive club is limited by the ps4 hardware than bully to those dev's for choosing the ps4 platform, it is what it is for me (but remember dx11 is not very efficient). Not everyone will agree with me, you dont but I move on. But I dont have max settings for project cars especially if I use 1440p (got new monitor now), my settings are probably nearer mid range than high end on the game. But like i said its also about gameplay, and I just feel better with project cars in its controls, turning mechanics etc. Also look at the options in the game, project cars allows you to change a lot of things, I have never seen another driving game offer that kind of customisation before. Whilst drive club (again I am basing on the psn edition) lets you change almost nothing, the title screen just seems to dump you straight into the game.

Then how can it be a valid comparison? You simply can't compare a 970 to the PS4 or Xbone.

You said that Project Cars had "easily better visuals." It doesn't. I agree entirely about the gameplay and physics, and have said so subsequently in this thread.

Project Cars is particularly inefficient code, in my opinion because it tries to do so much and on every available platform. lt is my favourite racing game to date by a margin, but I won't give it free points. It's complexity is sometimes a downside, as well as a benefit.

Either way, both Driveclub and Project Cars did extremely well with the default wheel settings (which is by far the most important aspect), unlike F1 2015 and Dirt Rally. Unless you stop playing in chase car view with a controller, you will never be able to comprehend the night and day difference. It's critical to a debate about physics.

My 380 plays Dirt Rally at Ultra and 4 x MSAA, with fame rates of 53/58/59. The refresh rate obviously being capped at 59Hz by my TV (P.S. it doesn't require any magic fairy dust either).

I doubt I get anywhere near such stable frame rates from Project Cars, but the handling physics are superb in PC. I don't feel the same way about Dirt Rally even after numerous updates.

I posted a video yesterday of Project Cars on PC, mentioning how well they have done with the controls.
Not everyone will agree with me, you dont but I move on.
If you stop feigning upset and try to use even a little objectivity, everyone might, but it seems you're the one that expects a free pass.

Get a a proper force feedback wheel, not a cheapy with a rubber band off of eBay, then reappraise the physics. DriveClub does a superb job and is not hamstrung by obtuse options that only the most ardent sim enthusiast would consider tinkering with.

At the very least, start playing with your controller in cockpit or bumper cam views only. The detail (literally) flying by in your mirror will then quickly become irrelevant. You might even find a comparison of the car modelling to be a revelation.

I tried putting 32 GT3 cars on the Nordschleife, but it caused a bit of a traffic jam!

No Driving game will ever upset Timey wink even if it has breathtaking visuals .

I have completely no interest in Racing Games in general unless they are of the Crazy Taxi Variety .smile

everyone plays these games in their own way, I prefer behind car as its how I am more comfortable playing.

I accept your views but you dont seem to want to accept mine, its as if you have an issue with people disagreeing with you.

Nonsense. I simply said that on comparative hardware DriveClub looks amazingly polished. You don't agree. Virtually the whole industry agreed that the only thing it didn't get wrong was the visuals! You're the one that can't stand being disagreed with.

I haven't forgotten your insinuation that I was lying about how well Dirt Rally looked on my AMD card. You said I must have been running it with "Magic Fairy" or "Pixie Dust". Yet it really does run perfectly at 59 FPS on Ultra, 4 x MSAA. So I stopped taking you seriously there and then.

And for the record, I don't have a problem with you driving in chase cam. If it makes you feel good, fair play to you. Developers include it to encourage casuals.

Far be it from me to advocate the removal of wife and girlfriends view.

I'll upset him tonight and make him rage quit! smile

Got some birthday money. Options:

New case and R9 390X
Keep case and R9 Nano
Save it towards Project Morpheus

What do you think, go for the visuals or the immersion? I'm absolutely convinced that Project Cars in VR is going to be amazing.
