Xbox elite bundle

[link to this post]

Just treated myself to Xbox elite 1Tb bundle, complete with new elite controller £399.99.
Intrigued by new hybrid drive, and what I've read here on the elite controller.
Should be delivered by Friday this week

Nice price mate for all that Gear,i have the Elite controller purchased from the Microsoft Store delivered last Thursday which on its own cost £120,so what you have there with the controller and the bigger drive is a nice Christmas present to yourself .

I will say the Elite controller is a beautiful looking bit of kit and its very impressive,i have yet to game with it but i have downloaded the Elite App from the store for the customisation ,something i suggest you do when you have it all set up and running.

I like the way its so easy to change the sticks and back pedals, they are magnetic and its a breeze to do.

I have Fallout 4 coming next Tuesday and Rise of the Tomb Raider the Friday after when i will be putting the controller through its paces.wink

Did you buy the package direct from Microsoft store wink

Yes,from Microsoft uk store, or attempting to, as status of order unchanged sadly, still showing as in process.
Got to wait until 12noon tomorrow and see what status order then says.
First time dealing with this store, so unsure how efficient they are?

I got my Elite controller from there mate and the service was very fast and fluent and arrived the very next day once i was informed it had been despatched.

I had a really hard time finding this product anywhere else, even the mighty Amazon had sold out and they did not know when they were going to be back in stock.

there are the obvious Sharks on eBay selling them for £250 [yes really that much] so the store was the only option.

Funny thing is the minute i bought it and revisited the site 30 minutes later they to were all sold out.

Tell you now mate you will be well impressed with this controller, and I'm very very fussy and it takes quite a bit to impress me.

What games do you intend to buy for your new console then,Rise of the tomb raider has to be one of them ?

Yes, rise of the tomb raider, fallout 4, are both on order from Shopto plus charger from Amazon that is specific for the elite control pad, about £23 if I remember correctly, it's out on Friday 6th November.
Be ordering more games, but obviously depends on Microsoft sending me the elite bundle

The controller uses standard batteries mate and comes with a set of duracells .

So I'm guessing judging by what you have on order you can use rechargeable wink

Yes, set of good quality rechargeable batteries included in the Amazon charger, keeping an eye on the remaining cash, as Christmas is fast approaching, make sure my sons get what they want, now I've got mine on order, will never let them down, as it's them that insisted I buy it ( honestly ) they're great lads like that, always thinking of me, and me them.

Very nice smile

Surprised such a expensive controller has disposable batteries rather than a built in rechargeable one. The charger sorts things out but that's an added expense on a already expensive item.

I prefer the idea of removable batteries, it's better than replacing the controller when the batteries die.
If you're using rechargeable batteries or even a battery pack you can also use a micro usb lead and plug and play.

The playstation 4 controllers don't last more than about 3 hours before they need charging again, then there is no initial warning until they are virtually dead, hence why i have 2 of everything smile

Yeah, been trying that since 12noon, the time ups tracking said it would be delevered by, but obviously nothing.
Ups are useless said depot would call back, didn't, and no way to get in touch directly with deeside depot, leaves me in limbo
Just spoke to Microsoft uk store, nothing they can do, just been told to wait which sucks!

I would say it will turn up today wink

My experience was as smooth as Silk .

Also remember that you were not expecting it originally until Friday so being that its only Wednesday i wouldn't be to concerned.

And you need games and if your a Cod Fan then Black Ops 3 is Friday ,Fallout 4 the following Tuesday and Rise Of the Tomb Raider 3 days after that.

Without games its a pointless unit my friend, all you can do is set it up and wait for the games to arrive.wink

Panic over, the big kids toys have arrived
First impressions are WOW!
Impressive packaging and that controller, more WOW!
Machine itself, purring like a cat, so little fan noise, especially after my last Xbox one, 500gig version, which wasn't silent but this new one is, fantastic
Got lots of games on order, fallout 4, rise of the tomb raider, and others, but let's get Christmas out of way first, before I continue splurging
Machine was supposed to be here by 12pm, but took phone call to Microsoft to get things moving, as it just arrived at 2.25pm
First impressions are 100% positive and looking forward now to trying out some next gen games, starting with fallout 4 next Tuesday and tomb raider following Friday
In the meantime I'll finish off tales from the borderland episode 5, game of thrones on the 17th November
Plus I'll give far cry 4 a go ( left over from previous Xbox)
Time to get to grips with this wonderful new controller

Yeah download the elite app from the store which should be your first priority ,since its a console deal did you get the nice case that the Elite controller usually ships with and all the different paddles wink

Glad your impressed with it smile like i said i am extremely hard to please but that controller is on another level even though its extremely pricey bit of kit.

Mine too, just got it on charge now.
Good thing about elite pad I've found is if you have older game, like I have with farcry 4, there can be a clash with new buttons and in my case, for now, I've removed the hair triggers, and will restore them for fallout 4 and rise of the tomb raider.
Overall still in wow factor of both console and pad

Do you actually know how this customisation works,i mean will the new games realise that you have this controller and in the settings will it be listed or will it be the basic controller for Xbox One.

Im not to sure how all this stuff will work unless you have to sort of do it from within the App.

Will see what it does with Fallout 4 .Very Soon wink

New Xbox games "may be programmed" for the new pad but so far nothing has been announced, so at the moment, unless you program it yourself it will function like a regular pad.
Doesn't matter for me as I still prefer the weight and feel of the elite pad, I'll never go back to the cheapo pad.

Got PC gaming rig myself, but rarely use it now (son uses it more) as was fed up updating endless setting just to make it all work, something I don't need to do on my PS4 and Xbox Elite consoles, just slam disk in and all is well ( love the way PS4 updates as it installs).
