Graphically it looks drop dead Gorgeous but having tried the beta it did absolutely nothing for me and i i doubt very much i end up buying this.
With the epic Fallout 4 and Rise of the tomb raider and Just cause 3 and Rainbow six just around the corner this game has very limited appeal.

Same [censored] lag issues. Pity because it looks (and sounds ) sooooooo nice!

I'm getting it on Friday, I have my old housemate coming over for the evening to spend a good few hours on it. I'm really looking forward to it, I haven't played an FPS since Battlefield Hardline and that only kept my interest for a couple of weeks.

So I'm guessing you have played and tried the beta and liked it,the game you should be getting well before this is Rise of the Tomb Raider because its just absolutely awesome.

Yea I played the beta and I enjoyed it apart from the lag, hopefully they resolve that but I'm not convinced it will be perfect on day one due to the sheer volume of players! I liked the survive the wave game on it so if the online play is unbearable we may just stick to that on the first night.
I am going to pick Tomb Raider up this week too, but Tomb Raider is a game I will play with my other half and Battlefront is a game I will play when I have an hour or 2 spare to myself.

Pretty much sums up how I feel about it too, except I won't be getting it until after Xmas.
Want to give Fallout 4 a fair crack of the whip first. So complicated, but really enjoyable.

I picked this up on Friday night and I have spent around 8 hours on it so far. I have mixed feelings about it to be honest, it looks incredible, the draw distance on the maps and just the look and feel of the environment is outstanding.
Some of the maps are better than others and the same can be said for the game modes, I've tried all of them and my personal favourite is Supremacy which is kind of like a cross between Conquest & Rush on Battlefield.
There are some really epic battles when both teams are fighting for the middle of the map, and it definitely feels like a typical Star Wars battle with blasters firing all over the place, AT-ST's rocking around, X-Wings & Tie Fighters flying above you etc.
My main concern is that the game just feels really light on content. I thought Destiny was light on content but this is even worse than that. The single player starter missions can all be done in under 3 minutes and there are only 5 of them. The other 10 missions are all the same thing in a slightly different map and they only take a few minutes each too. It's frustrating as it just feels very empty, it shows you a very short cutscene and then plops you into the mission and before you really get a chance to get going the mission is over and you're left feeling ripped off.
There is absolutely no story or anything else and it feels like the missions are just there as a bit of filler. There are only 4 maps on multiplayer but the maps do vary depending on the game mode, the same as Battlefield did. So if you play Endor on a deathmatch type game you are in a different part to if you play it in Supremacy.
The hero elements are good, it's great becoming Darth Vader / The Emperor / Boba Fett mid match to really turn things around for your team. There are some exciting game modes as well where you just play as heroes and that is really good fun too.
Overall I'm not sure how long it will last for me, there are only 21 guns to unlock in the whole game and about the same again in perks, I've already got 1/3 of them so I'm not sure what longevity there will be once I have got all of them.
I think it will give me something to do when I have an hour to kill, but once Just Cause is out I think this will be shelved.

Yeah the beta had me hyped but I now have no real urge to go out and buy this!!
Maybe it's because I'm trying to play and enjoy the other games that I own, I'm actually thoroughly enjoying Black Ops 3!!

If you look at Gamers reviews on Metacritic then the feelings expressed are exactly the same as yours and the reviews of this game are not very good on reflection and the only positive thing people are saying about this is the graphics are lovely.
This time i made the right choice,I'm not a Star Wars fan at the best of times,i downloaded the Beta and within 5 minutes of playing this i new that this game was not for me besides the eye candy graphics.
I only wish that i had the same thoughts and views on many games i have recently bought that in reality are not my type of games, take Fallout 4 for instance, way to complex for me with far to much content in my opinion,a game that claims 200 hours of gameplay is to deep,I'm not saying Fallout 4 is not a gamers dream and its a bad game because it isn't ,its just incredibly time consuming and hours and hours spent on this game can achieve very little.
Im sure that if i only spent money on a few games i would be more than happy with the content of Fallout 4 which could take literally 6 months to complete, now at the other end of the Spectrum we have Star Wars Battlefront with very little in the way of content plus the absolute rip of season pass at basically the price of the game.
Think you should start thinking mate a little bit more about what you buy in future, next year i am going to be extremely picky about future purchases and only buy games i truly like and not buy games because they look decent and have great graphics.

Are you serious lol? I do think about the games I buy, I've only bought 2 games in the last 4 months and that was this and Assassins Creed. I was always going to buy Battlefront because it's Star Wars and I'm a massive fan and was keen to see what they had done with it. I haven't bought Fallout 4 because I knew it wouldn't be for me.
I don't feel like I have wasted my money on it, I do enjoy it so as I say it will keep me busy until I get Just Cause on Christmas day. I just don't see it being a game like Battlefield 4 where you can pick it up 6 months after owning it and really enjoy it.

My mates are nagging me to get it so looks like I'll have too :/
I reckon the Supremacy missions would be good fun with a group of friends, but it's not like Battlefield where you have a squad and it does feel like there is less team play involved than in BF. I think the Walker Assault missions with the AT-AT;s would be good with a group too as it feels a bit chaotic when playing alone.

That wasn't aimed at you my friend it was aimed at my other pal Jorkila and his thoughts regarding Star Wars Battlefront
Double Edit......
Now after getting my Mr Magoo glasses i see that it was yourself that gave his opinion regarding Star Wars Battlefront .
But again i repeat i don't think you should consider your purchases,me and Jorkila should for sure

Sorry Jaxx i thought for some reason this post was from Jorkila which based on recent experiences and his boredom threshold which is on par with mine i made those comments.
Obviously what i said was not aimed at you Jaxx as like i said at first i thought it was a Jorkila post

Not yet matey

Then don't based on Jaxx summary, just wait until Just Cause 3 ships in virtually 7 days,I'm sure that game will give you at least 30 minutes of decent gameplay based on your previous experience and boredom with games in general
Hey Kila, have you ever and i mean ever finished a game or got past 1 hour
Its so funny watching you on my friends list on the playstation 4 playing about 6 different games a night.

Each to there own Kid ,each to there own as they say..........
Im just generally winding you up,takes a good game for me to have the patience and finish, finished Rise of the tomb raider and I'm playing through that masterpiece again.
Finished a few over the years but i would say I've given up or traded 50% for sure having not met my expectations or i have been bored and frustrated at the complex nature of some of the games............Like Fallout 4
Shame really as it has some huge potential but i just can not be bothered with it,and to then put building your own places in a game of this size makes it even more tedious and boring, even that you need a degree in Gaming design to even understand the complicated nature of putting structures together and then adding everything else................
Wish this was structured as a FPS without the RPG elements and I'm sure i would have been in gaming heaven.
Its quite tragic really as i was so looking forward to Fallout 4 and yet i bet based on this games size i have seen 0.1% [and i mean 1 tenth of a percent ]

I'll have to check them out
These days I think MP games now are more of a social life than a game for me
|
|
|
I agree about fallout 4, but I don't think it's because of the crafting in general, just the horrible green screen complexity of the menus.
|
|
|
Graphically it looks drop dead Gorgeous
Looks amazing
Bought it because of my mate nagging and he didn't even join in tonight. Trying to fix things up with his Mrs who has run off with another bloke. Better off playing the game I reckon. I wouldn't want her back after that

You can change the colour of the horrible green screen on PC as i have seen it in videos.
