Windows movie maker

Does anybody use this? I downloaded it to replace raptR, as that only lets you edit for facebook uploads etc.

Captured the footage in HD, but when I trim it etc in Movie Maker, it reverts to a much lower resolution and I can't find a settng to alter it. Might have to youtube it for tips.
